What voting location asked for party affiliation? On voting day? HIghly illegal in any state.

NO ONE should EVER be asking you THAT question. Even when you fill out voter forms for the first time, YOU do it yourself; no one does it for you.

That being said, (in FL) if you are Independent or Green Party, you DO NOT get to vote for Dem/Repubs in primary elections unless you have a candidate in the game. (You must vote party lines in primary elections-but can vote for anyone on MAIN election day, in Florida. Fl is a closed primary state)

NOT disputing that we are winning, pointing out that no election worker is allowed by law to ask you your party status-other than to outline voting rules and rule out that you are "independent" (or such) and can/cannot vote on that particular day. Even then, they are not allowed to "ask" you your affiliation. They can only point out the rules of voting.

Exactly. FL is closed primary which means you vote party lines in primary elections, but can vote for anyone (any party) in the general election.

Other states that have open primaries allow you to cross party lines during the primary and in the general.

In any case, though, NO ONE should be asking you your party affiliation. EVER. That is strictly prohibited. Private info. That's why you have individual check in, private voting booths etc…. it's all very very private info.
