I got to see it in 1973, when I was twelve. It took 4 days to run the race because of crashes and rain delays. It was a really bad year for Indy. Multiple deaths but I was with my dad and it was just about the best experience of my life. I got most of the drivers and owner autographs. The massive crowd was a shock to a small town boy.
