SHAME ON SPINELESS REPUBLICANS! Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren Speaks Out on Harsh Treatment of Jan. 6 Detainees in Isolation

Senator Liz Warren is speaking out against the harsh treatment of the January 6 detainees.

Republican lawmakers are silent and afraid.

What good are they?

Via Jack Posobiec.

The Gateway Pundit has written extensively about the abusive treatment Trump supporters are facing after their participation in the January 6 demonstrations. Many of these people DID NOT EVEN ENTER the US Capitol. Several others were waved into the Capitol and then later left when they were told.

There has never been mass chaos or violence by any supporters at ANY Trump rally.

The few rallies that did see violence was because of leftist infiltrators starting fights.

Despite this many Trump supporters sit in jail today — held without bond and without being convicted of any crime.

Now Senator Elizabeth Warren is speaking out.

Via Politico.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren fled the Capitol on Jan. 6 from a mob she later called domestic terrorists. Now she and another Senate Democratic leader are standing up for their attackers’ rights as criminal defendants.

Most of the 300-plus people charged with participating in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot have been released while they await trial, but dozens of those deemed to be dangerous, flight risks or at high risk of obstructing justice were ordered held without bond. D.C. jail officials later determined that all Capitol detainees would be placed in so-called restrictive housing — a move billed as necessary to keep the defendants safe, as well as guards and other inmates. But that means 23-hour-a-day isolation for the accused, even before their trials begin.

And such treatment doesn’t sit well with Warren or Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), two of the chamber’s fiercest critics of solitary confinement.

“Solitary confinement is a form of punishment that is cruel and psychologically damaging,” Warren said in an interview. “And we’re talking about people who haven’t been convicted of anything yet.”

See You in Court: Christian School Sues After Biden Forces Colleges to Open Girls' Dorms to Boys

President Joe Biden and his Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued orders to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity — orders that apparently require Christian schools to place biological males who identify as female with females in women’s dorms. Last week, the College of the Ozarks, a Christian college in Missouri, sued to block the administration from forcing the school to violate its religious convictions on these and other issues.

“The government cannot and should not force schools to open girls’ dorms to males based on its politically motivated and inappropriate redefinition of ‘sex,'” Julie Marie Blake, senior counsel at Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the Christian law firm representing the college, said in a statement on the lawsuit. “Women shouldn’t be forced to share private spaces—including showers and dorm rooms—with males, and religious schools shouldn’t be punished simply because of their beliefs about marriage and biological sex.”

“Government overreach by the Biden administration continues to victimize women, girls, and people of faith by gutting their legal protections, and it must be stopped,” Blake concluded.

On his very first day in office, Biden issued an executive order banning “discrimination” on the basis of gender identity. The order requires schools to open girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, and sports leagues to biological boys. It requires health care plans to pay for experimental transgender “treatments” and requires doctors and hospitals to perform them.

This order enforced the Supreme Court’s ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County (2020), which redefined “discrimination on the basis of sex” in federal law to include discrimination on the basis of gender identity. As Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito warned in his dissent, this move threatens “freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and personal privacy and safety.”

Less than a month after Biden’s order, Jeanine Worden, the acting assistant secretary for Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity at HUD, issued a directive applying Biden’s ban on discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity to entities under FHEO, which includes local authorities that would regulate the College of the Ozarks. Importantly, Worden had neither been officially nominated by Biden nor confirmed by the Senate at the time.

Under the Fair Housing Act (FHA), “testers” may “pose as renters or purchasers” without any intention to rent or purchase real estate in order to ensure the application of fair housing laws. In its lawsuit, the College of the Ozarks notes that in compliance with Worden’s directive, some HUD entities “will send testers to … entities such as the College, to determine if they discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.”

FHA is extremely broad. It does not only prohibit discrimination on the basis of categories such as sex (historically interpreted to mean biological sex as in male or female), but it also prohibits public notices announcing that landlords or colleges will engage in such discrimination.

When the Biden administration unilaterally redefined discrimination on the basis of sex to include discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity — contrary to the plain meaning of the word “sex” as Congress understood it when it amended the FHA to bar sex discrimination in 1974 — it effectively rewrote the law without observing the legal process for issuing a new regulation, the lawsuit alleges.

Beijing slams Australia’s ‘suicidal attack’ after government cancels Victoria’s Belt and Road agreement

Beijing has issued a fresh attack on Australia, describing the decision to tear up the divisive “Belt and Road” agreement as “suicidal”.

China has lashed out at Australia over the cancelled Belt and Road Initiative deal, branding the move a “suicidal attack” and vowing to respond with “potentially crippling countermeasures”.

The latest stoush kicked off on Wednesday night, when Foreign Affairs Minister Marise Payne announced that two Belt and Road agreements would be axed under new laws.

The deal was cancelled after the Morrison government claimed the agreements did not meet the national interest test.

Ms Payne said in a statement she found the agreements to be “inconsistent with Australia’s foreign policy or adverse to our foreign relations”.

“I will continue to consider foreign arrangements notified under the Scheme,” the statement reads.

“I expect the overwhelming majority of them to remain unaffected. I look forward to ongoing collaboration with states, territories, universities and local governments in implementing the Foreign Arrangements Scheme.”

What is the Belt and Road Initiative?

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) evolved out of the 2013 One Belt One Road plan, which was devised by China as a means of establishing a large, global network of trade routes with many nations.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews attended a summit on the matter in Beijing in 2017, with the state inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with China in October 2018 to join dozens of other nations in the BRI.

=The Democrats' D.C. Statehood Bill Is More Than a Power Grab. It Stealthily Cancels a Major Historical Figure

As my colleague Matt Margolis reports, the Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives have voted in lockstep to make Washington, D.C., the 51st state.

The bill is blatantly unconstitutional and stands very little if any chance of passing the Senate. The Democrats want the 51st state, sure enough, for the power it would grant them forever butthey also want its failure to become yet another means of racially dividing the country. It’s more performance art in lieu of governance. As the Democrats prove themselves incapable of the former at every level from the border to New York and everywhere across the continent, the performance art takes center stage. It’s all that bankrupt extremist party has.

The very appropriately named extremist Robert Reich leads the “racist” charge.

Reich has to have his reich, no matter how he gets it.

The District of Columbia was never intended to have senators because it isn’t supposed to be a state. That’s in the Constitution, which Reich surely knows but fails to inform his followers.

HR 51 is a stealthy piece of work. Here’s the text from the very top of the bill:

This bill admits certain portions of Washington, DC as the 51st state. The bill defines state as the State of Washington, Douglass Commonwealth.

In addition to creating a 51st state precisely where the Constitution says there can’t be one, it changes the name from Washington, District of Columbia to State of Washington, Douglass Commonwealth.

See what they did there?

The Democratic Party voted to cancel the reference to Christopher Columbus in the name of the new state it’s trying to create, where the Constitution says they can’t create one.

For some reason, the Democrats aren’t crowing about canceling Columbus. They probably hoped it would go unnoticed.

“Douglass” is a reference to 19th-century anti-slave champion Frederick Douglass. The escaped slave and black Republican certainly deserves great honor. He brought courage and Christian moral fire to the abolitionist cause, the cause on which the Republican Party was founded. Democrats might cancel him once they learn what he said about the Constitution and the American founders they denounce as racist. Click on that link and look up the fifth mention of the word “glorious.”

The Democrats will get around to canceling Washington, too, when they think they can slip it past Americans.

‘IM F**KIN DONE!’: Rapper Cardi B Slams Republican Congressman Over ‘WAP’ Complaints

Rapper Cardi B found herself at the center of attention after she performed her hit song “WAP” at the annual Grammy Awards. While many cheered her on, a flood of criticism also followed. Among the critics is Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI), who recently blasted the musician on the House floor while bashing the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

Cardi B, the “Bodak Yellow” Bronx rapper, who also recently took to dabbling in politics, took to social media on Wednesday to complain that she was “starting to hate America” in response to Grothman’s criticism of her Grammy performance.

In a since deleted Instagram post, Cardi wrote under a clip of Grothman on the House floor,“This is why Im [sic] starting to hate America. People are In need of therapy just of the sh*t we see on the internet alone when it comes to police brutality. We have a real crisis in our hand but this is what Wisconsin Representative decided to speak on today -_-. IM F**KIN DONE!”

Cardi also took to Twitter, venting to her millions of followers over another retweeted clip of Grothman. “This gets me so mad ya don’t even know,” she complained again, drawing attention to the recent weeks of endless news coverage circling police brutality around the US.

— iamcardib (@iamcardib) April 22, 2021

The Grammy performance, that has somehow found its way to Congress’ doorstep, had Cardi B dancing along with featured rapper Megan Thee Stallion in a brief but raunchy choreography to the censored “WAP” song, whose title is an acronym for “Wet A Py.” The performance featured both Cardi and Megan gyrating in a mimicked sexual display on a covetously oversized bed.

Complaints about the performance ended up at Grothman’s office, as he detailed on the House floor Thursday. Grothman placed blame on the apparent failure of the FCC.

— CBS (@CBS) March 15, 2021

“They wonder why we are paying the FCC if they feel that this should be in living rooms across the nation,” the congressman raged, pointing the finger at US Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I realize that Kamala Harris has used her fame to promote this performer, but I assure the FCC that millions of Americans would view her performance as inconsistent with basic decency,” he added. “Wake up, FCC, and begin to do your job! The moral decline of America is partly due to your utter complacency.”

According to Rolling Stone, the infamous performance resulted in over 1,000 complaints to the FCC about the “pornographic and vulgar” nature of the choreography, with some even going as far as threatening to take legal action.

“This is really something for women (note: This is Women in History Month) and girls to aspire to. You have got to be kidding me,” one complaint wrote, going on to threaten that, “I certainly want to know who to contact to file a lawsuit against the performers, the network, and any and all persons, corporations, etc who either directly or indirectly participated in this display of pornography."

This isn’t the first time the FCC has received complaints about a pop stars’ performance. In 2016, Beyoncé’s Super Bowl halftime resulted in about 47 pages of complaints for her and her dancers’ outfits, which paid ode to the Black Panther Party. Many have said the Grammy performance of “WAP” was about embracing female sexuality, but for some it was just plain “filth.”

New York Times columnist Paul Krugman suggests 'rampaging mobs' that looted cities were GOP make-believe

Nobel Prize winner calls Black Lives Matter perhaps the 'best-behaved protest movement in history'

New York Times columnist Paul Krugman suggested on Thursday that the violence that has plagued cities over the past year was a figment of Republicans' imagination.

Krugman knocked Republicans on Twitter for "only" being concerned about illegal immigration and the deficit in comparison to Democrats, who according to a Pew study are overwhelmingly concerned about gun violence, racism, the coronavirus, climate change, affordable healthcare, and economic inequality.

"You might think that it would be hard to obsess over the deficit when it was actually Trump who blew the deficit up, to zero complaints from his party," Krugman tweeted. "But that would be assuming that R voters know about that, or would even be willing to hear it."

"In reality, given that GOP supporters believe that rampaging mobs burned and looted major cities — somehow without the people actually living in those cities noticing — getting them to see facts about something as abstract as the deficit is a hopeless cause," Krugman added.

In a separate Twitter thread, Krugman argued that the "reality" of Black Lives Matter protests last summer was that they were "overwhelmingly peaceful."

"The idea that our big cities were under threat is pure malevolent fantasy; BLM may have been the best-behaved protest movement in history," the columnist tweeted.

Krugman, however, ignored the 18 deaths and nearly $2 billion in property damage in cities across the country that resulted from the unrest.
