Chauvin arrived on the scene and when he realized what was really going on quickly dispatched Floyd so he couldn't be questioned by the Secret Service. There is likely some very powerful people in the loop on this and that is why all the effort to cover it up with a sham trial and cries of racism and fentanyl and everything else they can throw at it to cover it in smoke.
I like the suggestion that DC be redefined as a small area bordering the mall where only federal government building reside and nobody can take up residence there. Giving the residential and business zones of DC back to the state of Maryland. But CONgress would never go for it.
