The Mark Of Cain maintain mystique with release of new album.

By Patrick Emery

When it came to undertaking the government security assessment process necessary to continue his employment in the defence industry, Kim Scott always wondered if ASIO officers would ask him about his extra-curricular duties: that of bass player in the Mark of Cain, the punk rock band Scott formed with his elder brother, John, in 1984.

"They'd never ask about the band," Scott says down the phone from Adelaide, where he is enjoying six months' "gardening leave" after resigning as a senior executive in a multi-national defence company.
