The process is alarming election professionals who fear the auditors are not up to the complex task and will severely undermine faith in democracy.
“I think the activities that are taking place here are reckless and they in no way, shape or form resemble an audit,” said Jennifer Morrell, a partner at Elections Group, a consulting firm advising state and local election officials, which has not worked in Arizona.

Leadership Team
The Elections Group is an elections consulting partnership founded by Jennifer Morrell and Noah Praetz that provides subject-matter expertise and materials to local, state and federal organizations.
Together, the partners have 30 years of experience successfully running local election offices, transitioning to new election models and voting equipment, and advocating for policy change.
In early 2020, Praetz and Morrell were each responding to calls for help from election officials across the nation who were wrestling with massive changes to election plans as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. They decided to team up in order to provide mentorship and materials to hardworking election administrators who had little time and resources to spare.
They recruited a deep bench of experts around the nation who could lend a hand, known as the Election Superheroes Project. See samples of our work.
Superheroes Project
We believe that all election administrators are superheroes. Some of those remarkable individuals have agreed to step up for a very special mission in 2020.
The Superheroes Project brings together dozens of veteran election officials and consultants across the nation, each with unique expertise, to lend support to state and local election officials that are facing significant challenges with absentee/mail ballots or in-person voting as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This network of advisors has graciously offered to share time, materials and ideas, draft or edit guidance documents, and speak with their peers in other states about their experiences.
Examples of our work are available for download, in order to help even more election administrators across the nation.
