Plague From Biblical Exodus Comes to Israel: Watch Locust Swarms Invade Country's South

Locusts have historically been associated with major devastation, being considered as pest bugs that typically come in the millions, are good fliers, and devour vegetation in almost no time.

Southern Israel has been plagued by armies of locusts as they swarmed the area of Eilat and Arava over the weekend, conjuring up scenes from the Book of Exodus in the Bible's Old Testament.

As explained by Amir Balaban, urban nature director for the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI), judging by the yellow colour of the pests, they are mature and can easily and swiftly move around large swathes of land.

Whatever the widely reported negative implications for agriculture, according to Balaban, the locusts’ presence benefits much of the wildlife, especially birds.

The swarm’s arrival coincides with the return of migrating birds from Africa to their breeding grounds in Europe and Asia, with the Eilat area thus being their first food stop after a lengthy journey over the Sahara Desert.

As for the admitted negative implications, over the last two years alone, locust swarms have devastated around 2.5 million hectares of land around the globe, leaving about 20.2 million people facing slight to severe food shortages.

The specially run website Locust Watch of the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation helps keep track of current and potential locust invasions worldwide.

Report: Pfizer and Moderna COVID “Vaccines” Could Trigger Alzheimer’s, ALS, and Other Neurological Degenerative Diseases

Everyone from Joe Biden to Red Pope Francis is pushing for 100% acceptance of the mRNA vaccine for COVID. The vaccine is unproven and untested. No one knows if the vaccine is more dangerous than the disease.

Now, a startling new report in Microbiology and Infectious Disease finds the mRNA vaccines could trigger Alzheimer’s disease, ALS, and other neurological and cognitive degenerative diseases.

Development of new vaccine technology has been plagued with problems in the past. The current RNA based SARS- CoV-2 vaccines were approved in the US using an emergency order without extensive long term safety testing.

Dr. Classen and his associates found that the vaccine increases the likelihood of these hideous diseases by opening a pathway into human DNA, which is exactly what this gene-therapy drug is intended to do:

The results indicate that the vaccine RNA has specific sequences that may induce TDP-43 and FUS to fold into their pathologic prion confirmations. In the current analysis a total of sixteen UG tandem repeats (ΨGΨG) were identified and additional UG (ΨG) rich sequences were identified. Two GGΨA sequences were found. Potential G Quadruplex sequences are possibly present but a more sophisticated computer program is needed to verify these. Furthermore, the spike protein, created by the translation of the vaccine RNA, binds angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), a zinc containing enzyme.

This interaction has the potential to increase intracellular zinc. Zinc ions have been shown to cause the transformation of TDP-43 to its pathologic prion configuration. The folding of TDP-43 and FUS into their pathologic prion confirmations is known to cause ALS, front temporal lobar degeneration, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological degenerative diseases.

Dr. Classen’s grim conclusion:

The enclosed finding as well as additional potential risks leads the author to believe that regulatory approval of the RNA based vaccines for SARS-CoV-2 was premature and that the vaccine may cause much more harm than benefit.

In light of this and other reports on negative, debilitating, and deadly reactions to these experimental gene therapies, people should carefully the unknown risks associated with the vaccine against the well-documented risks of COVID-19.

Further, with so many effective prophylactic and restorative treatments for the disease, the HCQ, vitamin D, and zinc, the CDC should immediately halt vaccine distribution until the dangers of the vaccine are documented.

EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Mexican Cartels Weaponize Drones to Drop IEDs

Drug cartels fighting a fierce turf war in western Mexico began weaponizing commercial drones by turning them into delivery systems for improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Breitbart Texas obtained exclusive photographs of the explosives devices and the methods used by cartel operators.

While various news outlets in Mexico claimed that Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG) instigated the attack, law enforcement sources in Michoacán revealed to Breitbart Texas that authorities believe an alliance known as Carteles Unidos were actually the ones behind the drone attacks. That criminal organization is made up of smaller regional cartels including Los Viagras, various self-defense groups, and remnants of La Familia Michoacana who are openly fighting off an invasion from CJNG. Carteles Unidos claims to have financial and manpower support from CJNG’s archrival — the Sinaloa Cartel. For several weeks, rival cartels carried out a series of fierce clashes where they used makeshift armored vehicles, explosives, and high-powered weapons. Mexico’s government is largely unable to do anything to address the raging violence that has been ongoing for weeks.

Breitbart Texas obtained a series of photographs showing members of Carteles Unidos making and testing a series of IEDs. The devices appear to be made out of pipes shaped like a mortar round. Those IEDs are then attached to commercial drones and then dropped from the air.

Dem Rep. Demings: Appears Officer in Ma’Khia Bryant’s Death ‘Responded as He Was Trained to Do’

Representative Val Demings (D-FL) said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation” that she thought the officer who fatally shot Ma’Khia Bryant in Columbus, Ohio “responded as he was trained to do.”

Anchor John Dickerson said, “Let me ask you about the George Floyd Policing Act and this awful incident, Ma’Khia Bryant in Ohio. So under- as I understand it, under the legislation, federal officials, police officers — they would be restrained from using excessive force unless a third party was in danger and unless they couldn’t deescalate. Those seem to be the facts of the case in the Bryant case, which means that under the standards set in the Floyd Policing Act, the officer, in that case, seems to have acted as they were trained and supposed to.”

Demings said, “Well, you know, John, when I served as a police chief, what I prayed for daily was that my police officers would respond as they are trained to do. Now, after every incident, we would have to go back and look at our policies and make sure that the policies met the moment. But look, I worked as a social worker with foster care children. So it’s a- it’s a sad moment for me. But I also was a patrol officer who was out there on the street having to make those split-second decisions. You know, now everybody has the benefit of slowing the video down and- and seizing the perfect moment. The officer on the street does not have that ability. He or she has to make those split-second decisions, and they’re tough. But the limited information that I know in viewing the video, it appears that the officer responded as he was trained to do with the main thought of preventing a tragedy and- and a loss of life of the person who was about to be assaulted.”

In a recent speech, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade secretary Frances Adamson outlined a "range of difficulties" Australia is experiencing with its largest trading partner.

"As China adopts a more authoritarian approach domestically and asserts itself internationally in ways which challenge and undermine those rules, Australia is experiencing a range of difficulties in its bilateral relationship with China," Ms Adamson told a University of Adelaide graduation ceremony earlier this month.

"The Australian government wants a constructive relationship with China where we can discuss differences and work for mutual benefit.

"Governments of other countries want the same or similar, but China expects compromise on key national interests in exchange for dialogue and cooperation."

The DFAT secretary's comments on April 13 came just a week before Foreign Minister Marise Payne announced the Commonwealth would tear up Victoria's controversial Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) agreement with China.

In response, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, urged Australia to "immediately redress mistakes and change course, refrain from going down the wrong path further, and avoid making the already seriously difficult China-Australia relations worse".

Late last year China's embassy in Canberra produced a list of 14 grievances with Australia, including that the federal government had banned Huawei from 5G networks and unfairly blocked other Chinese investment.

Ms Adamson also told graduating commerce students that "China is an important economic partner for Australia, that our economies are complimentary and that Chinese consumer demand for Australian products is strong".

She reminded the University of Adelaide audience of "the need to evaluate risk and think strategically" and stressed "how important it is for global security and prosperity that agreed rules are upheld".

"That's in Australia's interests, China's interests, everyone's interests," Ms Adamson said.

"It is likely to affect you, possibly quite directly, and because the way it plays out will influence the peace and prosperity of our state, our country, our region and the world.

"Our freedoms, including academic freedom and freedom of speech, which we often take for granted, may need your voices in defence – I encourage you to act with integrity, guided by your values."

At the same venue in 2017, the DFAT secretary used an address to urge universities to better protect themselves from the rising influence of the Chinese Communist Party, asking students to engage in respectful debate rather than spread propaganda or attempt to gag views they disagree with.

In her most recent speech, Ms Adamson said she believes "Chinese students will be welcome on campus when they are able to return".

Iran's Military Blames Israel For Drone Attack On Oil Tanker Off Syria, Vows Revenge

The blaze aboard an oil tanker near Syria's Banias refinery has been extinguished Sunday following a suspected drone attack which was widely reported as coming "from the direction of Lebanese waters" - in the words of Syria's oil ministry. The Guardian is citing regional sources to say at least three among the crew were killed.

While the tanker was first identified as Iranian, TankerTrackers said in a tweet that "the tanker seen burning today off the coast of Banias is not an Iranian vessel" but Beirut-registered. Iranian state media had also denied that it was Iranian ship. However, the vessel identified as the Beirut-registered "Wisdom" supertanker appears to have been assisting in the offloading of Iranian oil.

This has led to widespread immediate speculation that it was another Israeli attack meant to disrupt Iran's ability to export oil, especially to its fuel-starved and sanctions-hit ally Syria.

Iran’s Armed Forces chief Mohammad Bagheri on Sunday threatened to "teach Israel a very good lesson," appearing to hint the Jewish state was behind a reported attack on an Iranian tanker off Syria’s coast over the weekend, but stopping short of blaming Jerusalem directly for the incident.

Bagheri told reporters: "We don’t announce anything about the incidents that happened recently, nor do we know who did it, but the Resistance Front will teach Israel a very good lesson," according to several Iranian journalists.

"Israelis think they can keep hitting Syria and making mischievous moves elsewhere and in the seas and not receive any response," Bagheri said further according to The Times of Israel.

Wuhan Lab Connected to Chinese Military, Documents Reveal

A Daily Mail investigation has uncovered additional evidence that the COVID-19 coronavirus may have originated in a military virus lab in Wuhan, China, despite denials from the Chinese Communists that the military was involved.

In February, the World Health Organization concluded that there was no evidence for the lab origin theory, and that the team investigating the virus’s origins should stop pursuing that theory. Hundreds of scientists around the world were outraged and demanded the WHO continue looking into the Wuhan lab hypothesis.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology project began nine years ago and was tasked with studying bat viruses. It was a maximum-security facility overseen by the Chinese army.

Documents obtained by The Mail on Sunday reveal that a nationwide scheme, directed by a leading state body, was launched nine years ago to discover new viruses and detect the ‘dark matter’ of biology involved in spreading diseases.

One leading Chinese scientist, who published the first genetic sequence of the Covid-19 virus in January last year, found 143 new diseases in the first three years of the project alone.

It would be logical for someone familiar with the COVID-19 virus to be the first scientist in the world to sequence its genome. But it’s the involvement of the military and the research to find viruses that might be weaponized that has raised red flags with Western intelligence agencies. It should be noted that there is no direct evidence for a military bioweapons program in China. But it’s hard to find another reason for the military’s interest.

The fact that such a virus-detection project is led by both civilian and military scientists appears to confirm incendiary claims from the United States alleging collaboration between the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and the country’s 2.1 million-strong armed forces.

The scheme’s five team leaders include Shi Zhengli, the WIV virologist nicknamed ‘Bat Woman’ for her trips to find samples in caves, and Cao Wuchun, a senior army officer and government adviser on bioterrorism.

Prof Shi denied the US allegations last month, saying: ‘I don’t know of any military work at the WIV. That info is incorrect.’

The U.S. State Department has raised concerns about the “gain of function” work done at the lab. Basically, gain of function “places positive selective pressure on the microorganisms to effect mutations that would increase their pathogenicity, transmissibility, and antigenicity.” In other words, gain of function takes a bad bug and turns it into a very, very bad bug.

PayPal suspends donations to volunteer ‘Rangers’ providing armed security during Arizona audit

A group of volunteer law enforcement officers is helping to provide extra security during the Arizona audit. The citizen’s group, the “Arizona Rangers” is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which traces its roots back to the 1880s.

The Rangers are armed uniformed volunteer law enforcement officers, who provide additional manpower when requested by local, state, or federal authorities.

In recent days, the Rangers have helped supplement the security at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum as volunteers count by hand over two million ballots. To help cover the costs of providing four to six weeks of security, the Rangers asked for donations. But after receiving a spur of contributions, PayPal abruptly blocked the processing of donations to the Rangers, the group tweeted.

After being suspended by PayPay, a GoFundMe page was established for the Rangers. The page raised a whopping $35,000 in under 20 hours, with a goal of $50,000.

Security for the recount site remains paramount as President Trump pointed out today. Trump released a statement calling for Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to beef up security amid concerns that radical-leftists may attempt to disrupt the recount.

ASEAN Nations Back Military in Myanmar Coup; Call For an End to Violence

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) issued a statement calling for an end to the violence in Myanmar and immediate mediation between all parties. It said nothing about the overthrow of a popularly-elected government, the arrest of its elected leaders, the detention and torture of thousands of civilians, and the deliberate gunning down of protesters in the streets.

The ASEAN nations are ruled mostly by autocrats or dictators. The organization is made up of representatives from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Needless to say, those resisting the military in Myanmar are bitterly disappointed.

“Whether it is ASEAN or the U.N., they will only speak from outside saying don’t fight but negotiate and solve the issues. But that doesn’t reflect Myanmar’s ground situation,” said Khin Sandar from a protest group called the General Strikes Collaboration Committee.

According to a statement from ASEAN chair Brunei, a consensus was reached in Jakarta on five points – ending violence, a constructive dialogue among all parties, a special ASEAN envoy to facilitate the dialogue, acceptance of aid and a visit by the envoy to Myanmar.

The five-point consensus did not mention political prisoners, although the chairman’s statement said the meeting “heard calls” for their release.

That “consensus” is about what you’d expect from a group of leaders one step beyond a junta.

The official statement released Saturday by ASEAN leaders makes five demands of the military junta, including an “immediate cessation” of the violence and a peaceful solution to the situation via “constructive dialogue,” mediated by a special envoy appointed by ASEAN. The leaders also demanded that Myanmar’s military government allow the arrival of humanitarian assistance.

The military’s leader, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who was in attendance, did not make a public statement. The summit was his first trip outside Myanmar since the coup.

The invitation to General Aung Hlaing was heavily criticized. There were calls for Interpol to arrest him upon his arrival at the meeting location in Jakarta, but that was never going to happen. It would have been considered “impolite.”

“ASEAN’s statement is a slap on the face of the people who have been abused, killed and terrorised by the military,” said a Facebook user called Mawchi Tun. “We do not need your help with that mindset and approach.”

Aaron Htwe, another Facebook user, wrote: “Who will pay the price for the over 700 innocent lives?”

The ASEAN leaders don’t want to make too big a deal of Myanmar slaughters because they may have to answer for the blood on their own hands someday.

It was too much to expect a ringing condemnation of the killing of 700 mostly unarmed protesters. But instead of trying to blame both sides for the violence, maybe the ASEAN leaders could have pointed out who fired the first shot.

Fauci acknowledges outdoor COVID-19 transmission 'low,' expects updated mask guidance

Fauci said the risk for infection in an outdoor setting is 'minuscule'

Dr. Anthony Fauci believes the Centers for Disease Control will soon provide updated COVID-19 guidance on using face masks in outdoor settings, calling it "common sense" to do so.

Face masks have taken an increasingly central role in debate lately as many question the continued and widespread use of masks even as vaccinations continue to soar nationwide. A Georgia mother went viral this week after she sounded off on her local school board continuing its mask mandate through next year.

Fauci agrees with some of that thought, saying that the risk for people engaging in outdoor activities is "minuscule," especially for vaccinated individuals.

"What I believe you’re going to be hearing, what the country is going to be hearing soon, is updated guidelines from the CDC," Fauci told ABC’s "This Week." "The CDC is a science-based organization. They don’t want to make any guidelines unless they look at the data and the data backs it up."

"But when you look around at the common sense situation, the risk is really low, especially if you’re vaccinated," he said.

Fauci cited figures that indicate around 30% of the population has been fully vaccinated, with at least 50% having already received one vaccination dose.

The CDC recently lifted a recommended pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, saying that the vaccine "continues to meet" standards for "safety, effectiveness and quality."

Fauci said that ordering the pause was not a mistake, even as vaccine hesitancy remains a significant hurdle for immunization efforts.

"There was a pause, it was examined, and we’re going ahead with it," he said.

A recent Fox News poll found that 1 in 5 have rejected the vaccine, citing concerns that development was rushed and requesting more data before even scheduling an appointment for their first dose.

"People will realize that we take safety very seriously," Fauci said. "We’re trying to combat the degree of vaccine hesitancy that is still out there."

When you can convince people racism is rampant, you ignite a flame of division and destruction that can only end with bodies on the ground and cities leveled.

Adam Toledo is a name that has likely saturated your newsfeed over the past month. He was a 13-year-old Mexican-American boy who was fatally shot by a police officer on Chicago’s West Side not one month ago.

This week, that name was overshadowed by Ma’Khia Bryant, a black teenager who died at the hands of law enforcement in Ohio. In both cases, leftist politicians and Twitter-verified “journalists” couldn’t get the story out fast enough, absent facts, video, or nuance — but the headlines wrote themselves: “Racist Cop Shoots Unarmed Minority.”

Also in both cases, the stories turned out to be completely wrong. On Wednesday we learned that Bryant wasn’t just standing in her driveway unarmed, or just casually holding a knife, or even dueling with another armed kid in a “knife fight” when the officer discharged his weapon. After the officer arrived, she lunged with a knife at another black girl she had pinned against a car, after having already charged a different girl nearby. She was armed and dangerous. And the officer, although accused of being a racist pig by even the White House, instead saved at least one black girl’s life.

Not only did journalists kick off the Toledo narrative with the same racist-cop rhetoric, but when officer body camera footage was released, showing what appeared to be the boy holding a firearm right before the officer shot him, CBS News cropped out that part of the video and failed to note that he was armed in its write-up of the incident. Meanwhile, politicians peddled the line that Toledo was “unarmed.”

These erroneous stories aren’t flukes. Recent history shows repeatedly that corrupt media and politicians aren’t surprised or embarrassed when body cam footage or crucial details emerge that debunk their initial “reporting.”

That’s because they don’t so much report as create. They don’t get clicks and clout by uncovering and reporting what actually happened, but by feeding people and politicians’ pre-existing narratives. That’s why every lede and headline seems to be some variation of Black Lives Matter talking points.

Corrections, if issued at all, are usually stealthy and get buried instantly, and there’s no room for nuance on a protester’s poster board or in a presidential press release. Thus the narrative is set before any details emerge, and narratives are more powerful than facts in ginning up emotional responses and revolutions.

The media know this. The ruling class knows this. If they can convince enough people that America is systemically racist, they can infiltrate government schools with critical race theory — and they have.

If they can make people believe police officers are irredeemably evil, they can nationalize local law enforcement and funnel more money toward their pet social programs. If they can convince corporations that performative “antiracism” is more important than profits, they can blackmail state lawmakers into passing legislation that gives them more power — and they are.

South African COVID-19 Jab Contract Bails Out Firm That Funded President's Election

South Africa's temporary halt on giving the US-developed Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine as part of a mass clinical trial did not stop negotiations for a huge supply contract with local licensed producer Aspen Pharmacare — throwing a lifeline to its unused $210-million plant on the Indian Ocean coast.

The South African government's contract for millions of COVID-19 jabs has bailed out a firm which donated to the president's leadership campaign.

Aspen Pharmacare senior executive for strategic trade, Stavros Nicolaou, said the company would complete a first batch of 1.1 million doses of the license-produced, US-developed Johnson & Johnson vaccine over the weekend.

Financial analysts told the South African Sunday Times that the deal was a lifeline to Aspen's factory in the Coega Special Economic Zone in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape province. The plant was built in 2017 at a cost of 3 billion rand (£151 million, $210 million) with the intention to make anaesthetics, but had not begun production.

Absa Asset Management portfolio manager Carmen Mpelwane said Aspen had been in "the right place, with the right facilities at the right time", while Sasfin Wealth senior equity analyst Alec Abraham said the contract would be hugely significant for the firm, "at least covering the fixed costs" of the new plant.

Neither Aspen or the government have revealed the agreed-upon price for the vaccines or how much profit the company will make from the deal for 31 million doses.

Political Favours?

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has been accused of favouring Aspen and J&J over rivals such as Russia's Gamaleya Institute — developers of the Sputnik V vaccine — and the Serum Institute of India (SII), which makes the AstraZeneca 'Oxford' jab under license. China, another member of the BRICS bloc of emerging economies, has also yet to secure South African orders for its Sinovac and other vaccines.

Aspen and Nicolaou donated millions of rand between them to Ramaphosa's 2017 campaign for leadership of the ruling African National Congress, which placed him as successor to then-President Jacob Zuma. ANC leaders do not customarily spend significant sums on campaigning for internal party elections.

While the Biden administration is focused like a laser on convincing Americans their country is systemically racist, the once murky post-Cold War world order is coming into specific relief. Our enemies are counting on us not having the guts to fight them. President Biden and most of official Washington are proving them correct.

Beijing is developing its own digital currency to compete with the dollar. China has committed $400 billion in oil purchases and other economic assistance to Iran. Russia’s military and espionage operations go beyond mere saber-rattling. China and Russia recently signed a new military cooperative masquerading as a joint lunar base program.

The ties that bind these authoritarian powers are growing, as President Biden’s weakness advances their shared global narrative of a U.S. in decline.

The U.S. foreign policy elite must acknowledge that a new world order has indeed taken shape pitting these brutal dictatorships against the free nations of the West in a clash that is far more dangerous than the one we dealt with 50 years ago.

This New Axis is far better positioned to advance their goals of global dominance than their failed 20th century forebearers. During the first Cold War, the combined economic power of the Soviet bloc nations was easily dwarfed by that of a surging U.S. economy and its allies harnessing the creative freedom and free markets of the post-war era.

The West has allowed Russia to blackmail Europe for decades over energy. We’ve placated the terrorists in Iran. An insatiable thirst for capital, cheap labor and cheap products has allowed China to become an economic powerhouse whose impact is now felt on every continent.

We’ve desperately clung to the foolish belief that with the first Cold War won, China, Russia and others would cast aside their tyrannical governments and imperial designs.

Americans need to accept reality that decades of appeasement and facilitation have made this bloc powerful and made it inseparable.

It’s the type of cooperation the Soviets never had. Moscow cobbled together a bloc of aligned nations, none of which had independent economic or military prowess, plagued by mismanagement, poverty and stretched resources.

We have a compounded problem now that requires both a domestic and foreign policy response, neither of which we are presently executing. A dangerous paralysis has set in over time. Mr. Biden’s Russia sanctions in the face of the SolarWinds attack are a joke along with his climate-obsessed foreign policy that will be ignored by the New Axis.

The U.S. must lead in weakening these enemies using every tool at our disposal. It means taking concrete steps to finally stop Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline and replace it with U.S. energy supplies and renewable technologies.

Audit Team In AZ on Thursday Night Describes Process Involved in Audit – Liberal Media Screams and Demands to Know Who Is Paying for It

The media was only there to cause trouble. They had no intention of listening to the incredible work that had already been done to develop the most transparent audit in history.

Former Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett and Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan spoke to reporters at the Veteran Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday night to explain how auditors will accurately verify each ballot.

Bennett opened the conference by dispelling left-wing talking points and reiterating that the procedures were the focus and not the opinions of anyone involved.

Logan touched upon the cameras located around the arena. He showed the press the positions of all nine cameras stationed around the coliseum, which are all tasked with the purpose of ensuring accountability of the process.

Logan then walked the press through their forensic audit system step-by-step while noting this forensic audit is beyond fool proof. He said protocols are in place to ensure that the integrity of the presidential and senatorial elections in Maricopa County is maintained.

John Brakey, the co-founder of Audit USA, said the count was necessary to help reestablish America’s trust in the electoral process while dismissing claims that counting ballots was in any way a violation of the right to a secret vote.

The presser got a bit heated when a reporter started accusing Logan of using a double standard by checking the auditors social media for potential political affiliation or opinion on the election while routinely posting about election fraud on his social media. The unnamed reporter’s attempt to catch Logan off-guard was quickly dismissed.

Logan said he will be more than happy to prove the system is non-partisan, adding he simply wants a free and fair election. In the meantime, auditors will be sifting through the more than 2 million ballots over the next six weeks to finally get to the truth of what happened in November.

US and NATO Begin Troop Withdrawal From Several Bases in Afghanistan

Last week, the alliance announced that an orderly pullout from Afghanistan would begin by 1 May and is expected to be complete within a few months. The US aims to complete the withdrawal by 11 September.

The United States and NATO have begun withdrawing their troops from a number of bases in Afghanistan, Commander of the Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, Austin Scott Miller said at a press conference on Sunday. Miller added that the military will eventuall hand over all their bases to Afghan forces.

"We have started withdrawing from a number of bases … Even if Afghanistan has access to a peace agreement, we have been told to leave", Miller said at the press conference.

The announcement comes as NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg revealed the bloc's plans to start withdrawing troops from Afghanistan by 1 May. The alliance intends to complete the withdrawal within several months.

US President Joe Biden, in turn, vowed to withdraw US troops by 11 September, on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Under the terms of the previous US-Taliban agreement, signed in Doha by then-President Donald Trump, the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, in exchange for the Taliban's commitment not to host terrorist forces in the country that could threaten US national security, was supposed to be effectuated on 1 May. However, new President Biden admitted that meeting the original deadline could be "tough".

Despite the the launch of peace talks between the movement and Kabul in Qatar's Doha last September, clashes between Taliban insurgents and the Afghan military still continue to rock the country.
