Dashcam video of a drunk Democrat Michigan lawmaker resisting arrest after crashing his SUV into a ditch was released this weekend.

26-year-old Michigan state rep. Jewell Jones was seen driving erratically on I-96 before he got into an accident in Livingston County on April 6th.

State Troopers arrested Jones after he crashed his SUV into a ditch

“I’ll call governor Whitmer right now,” Jones can be heard saying on the video. “I’m a state rep.”

Law enforcement struggled to arrest Jones and had to use a taser and pepper spray to get him under control, according to a police report.

State Troopers were seen taking a belligerent Jones to the ground where he threatened to unleash the might of the state government on them – “I run y’alls budgets” Jones said to the cops.

“Police said Jones — who refused a blood test — had a blood-alcohol content of 0.19% after a warrant was obtained — more than twice the legal limit,” according to Click on Detroit.

Jewell Jones faces charges including resisting and obstructing officers — a felony — driving with a high blood-alcohol content, reckless driving and possessing a weapon while under the influence, Click on Detroit reported.

Jim Jordan Says ‘Democrats Seek To Embolden’ Big Tech’s ‘Abuse’ Of Conservatives In Scathing Dissent

Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan wrote dissenting views about Rhode Island Rep. David Cicilline’s antitrust report on behalf of House Judiciary Republicans. The document, exclusively obtained in advance by Daily Caller, will be published in Cicilline’s report once it’s officially printed.

The House Judiciary Committee passed Cicilline’s report on April 15 accusing Big Tech companies, such as Amazon, Apple, Google, and Facebook of holding “monopoly power” over smaller firms in a 24-17 party-line vote, Reuters reported. The report, which was released in October, is the first congressional review of the tech industry calls on massive changes to antitrust law.

However, Republicans say the report does not go far enough or address any of their concerns.

Among Jordan’s chief complaints was that Republicans were excluded from drafting the report and that not one single Republican voted for it.

“Americans cannot trust Democrats to address a problem—Big Tech’s systemic bias and abuse against conservatives—that Democrats seek to embolden,” Jordan writes in the document.

Jordan also said the Democrat’s report did not address Big Tech’s “existential threat to freedom of speech and freedom of thought.”

“[T]his staff report is a document prepared exclusively by Democrats who fundamentally refuse to believe that Big Tech is systemically biased against conservatives,” Jordan said.

Oscar Nominee Andra Day: School Textbooks ‘Are Designed to Continue White Supremacy’

Oscar-nominated star Andra Day has claimed the textbooks used in American schools are designed to perpetuate “white supremacy,” alleging they deliberately downplay or hide the accomplishments of black historical figures, including singer Billie Holiday, whom she plays in the Hulu movie The United States vs. Billie Holiday.

The pop star, who is a best actress nominee for her role in the movie, also praised Stacey Abrams (D) in a wide-ranging interview with left-wing cultural critic Roxane Gay for The Hollywood Reporter.

During the conversation, Andra Day attacked school textbooks, claiming they frequently omit historical accounts of black people, like the controversy surrounding Billie Holiday’s song “Strange Fruit,” which was a protest song against racist lynchings.

“We didn’t know because textbooks are designed to continue white supremacy, right? In schools and colleges. I didn’t know about [the women of] Hidden Figures because we weren’t supposed to know,” she said.

“Billie Holiday was a threat to a system of racial inequality. So we were only supposed to know her as a tragic addict who wasted her life on drugs, which could not be further from the truth.”

In the interview, Day makes the unverified claim that the largest publisher of textbooks is located in Texas. “So think about that agenda there alone,” she said, in an apparent attempt to conflate the state’s Republican base with white supremacy.

It remains unclear which publisher Day was referring to since none of the five largest educational publishers is headquartered in Texas. The Lone Star state is the largest market for academic textbooks, which gives the state’s board of education significant influence over publishers.

Andra Day also praised Stacey Abrams in the interview by comparing her to singer Billie Holiday.

“That is the same DNA. That is why they had to shut her up. You know what I mean? Because she is the DNA that is in Stacey Abrams,” Day said.

She added that new, GOP-led voter integrity laws “are a direct response to Stacey Abrams registering millions of voters. She just did the right thing.”

Andra Day has already won a Golden Globe for her performance in the movie, which has received mixed to negative reviews. In her recording career, she received two Grammy nominations for her 2015 debut solo album Cheers to the Fall.

Federal Reserve Induced Inflation Has Resulted in Collapsed US Births…Twice

Total US births are collapsing and likely to continue falling significantly further over the coming decade(s). However, this isn't our first rodeo…as total births collapsed during the 1960's 'til early '80's…almost inexplicably against a fast growing childbearing population. And now, since 2007 (and not just a C-virus one off), total births have again collapsed against a growing childbearing population. I will make the case that much of this comes back to the Federal Reserve's policies to foment stagflation/inflation which have created the birth dearth(s). Young adults (potential parents), like the canary in the coalmine, are among the most economically vulnerable to the Fed fueled asset inflation (with lagging pay increases and little to no assets riding the bubble, at least partially offsetting the rising costs of living). Their determination to delay marriage and children is the ultimate barometer of the US economic wellbeing.

The chart below (1950 through 2040) shows annual US births (blue columns…regardless parents legal/illegal status plus Census '00/'08 birth projections through 2040), actual births (blue dashed line…including my projection from 2020 through 2040), 20 to 35 year old female childbearing population (pink line…representing roughly 80% of births among 15 to 45 year old total female childbearing population), and soaring 45+ year old post-childbearing female population (yellow line).

Looking at the US childbearing female population, there is no growth anticipated through 2040, while fertility rates continue tanking due to a slew of economic / pandemic / environmental / overpopulation concerns. The Census continued projections for rising fertility rates and total births is poorly founded.

Nikki Haley Says You’re Not Allowed To ‘Whine’ About Democrats, Despite Repeatedly Whining About Democrats

Nikki Haley appears to believe that only she is allowed to complain about Democrats.

Nimrata Nikki Haley, the former Trump administration ambassador to the United Nations who is best known for removing the Confederate battle flag from the South Carolina capitol, recently appeared at a Heritage Foundation event and instructed Republicans not to “whine and complain about the other side,” despite her own frequent whining and complaining about the other side.

“Fun conversation with @KayColesJames at the Heritage Foundation retreat in Tucson,” wrote Haley. “We can’t whine and complain about the other side. We have to explain why conservative solutions are better for all people.”

A cursory scan of Haley’s Twitter activity shows that, despite her pronouncement, she actively engages in whining about “the other side” on a regular basis. Just yesterday, Haley wrote, “When Democrats don’t have control, they rewrite the rules.” In reference to the expectation on the left for the Biden administration to pack the Supreme Court with liberal justices, she added, “Now they want to change the Supreme Court – one of the last government institutions that still has the trust and confidence of the American people. So much for unity.”

On April 7, she complained that “liberals and big corporations need to stop treating minorities like we’re stupid.” Haley, who is of Indian descent, added, “We are perfectly capable of getting a photo ID. We want election integrity.”

Australian Defense Minister Says Conflict With China Over Taiwan ‘Should Not Be Discounted’

MELBOURNE—Conflict with China over Taiwan “should not be discounted,” but Australia will work with its allies in the region to try and maintain peace, Australian Defence Minister Peter Dutton said on Sunday.

“I don’t think it (conflict) should be discounted,” Dutton said in a television interview on the Australian Broadcasting Corp (ABC) when asked whether the prospects of a conflict over Taiwan are growing.

He added that China has been increasingly clear about its reunification ambitions with Taiwan.

“People need to be realistic about the activity,” Dutton said. “There is militarisation of bases across the region. Obviously, there is a significant amount of activity and there is an animosity between Taiwan and China.”

He added that while there is a high level of preparedness for the Australian defense force to meet any threats in the region against the country’s allies, Canberra will work to try to maintain peace.

“We want to make sure we continue to be a good neighbour in the region, that we work with our partners and with our allies and nobody wants to see conflict between China and Taiwan or anywhere else,” Dutton said.

Australia’s diplomatic relations with China, its largest trading partner, have worsened since Canberra called for an international inquiry into the origins of the coronavirus which was first reported in the Chinese city Wuhan, prompting trade reprisals from Beijing.
