I recommend reading "The Imitation of Christ", written in the 1400s by monks. It has helped me as much as anything.

In addition to many printed versions, there are also professional audiobook versions, lower quality free audiobooks (https://archive.org/details/imitation_of_christ_librivox), and free online texts (https://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/ioc/index.htm)

Until "the modern era" it was the second most widely-read book next to The Bible.

It helps a mind to break from a deception that dominates this current age - the illusion that suffering and losses are unacceptable and a sign that we are on the wrong path. It connects the soul back to Biblical principles such as 'Whoever wishes to follow Me must carry his cross daily', and 'If you will be resurrected with Christ you must die along with Him as He did', and 'The downhill highway that leads to the loss of soul is easy and popular, but the narrow path uphill that leads to life is difficult and there are few people who find it.'
