I've been acting like a monkey for 41 years. The difference between some people and others is what they strive for. Purpose is powerful, but for which purpose do you seek understanding? The pursuit of knowledge can drive you insane. The pursuit of closeness can lead to violence. The pursuit of God can lead you into the abyss. The people that rise above the monkey mentality are those that can stop themselves when they realize what it is they are seeking was in the journey all along. It's like missing your turn before you even get started. Flying blind can be a barreling experience.

Was at the gym in The Alana Waikiki in 1997. Getting about half way through my workout, some dude comes in, starts using the machine and I was wrapping up some calisthenics. Dude just started striking up conversation, and I was trying to be nice while also get my sweat on. Long story short, this dude had a puddle jumper and was trying to get me to come check out a place he had on Maui or some crazy shit, and I was like "Uhhhhhh… see ya man gotta jet!". Dude didn't seem to realize the reason I was on the dip bar with a 45 strapped to my waist is because I was totally trying to nail this smoking hot girl that was an Army Colonel's daughter.
