Landscapefag here

Working on a residential projects now, so been out sourcing shrubs at nurseries in area

Wholesale AND retail plant nurseries are all swarmed with business, running low on stock

Startling volume, been super busy

Plants are selling like hotcakes, people buying big quantities of material

Every retail outlet - big Lowes & Home Depots - all have tractor trailers delivering full loads constantly

Am oldfag enough to remember the go-go economy of the 80's

THIS is like THAT was, for youngfags who weren't around

Everybody in the business is just buckling down and trying to keep up and keep everything watered & finish projects

Gardening, because instant gratification after getting sweaty is sweet

"still work with their hands"

LOL, you made me think about my resume in the 80's.

Commercial banking, worked on the marketing campaign that introduced the (gasp) debit card.

International banking, handled boring transaction handling for imported plywood from Taiwan.

No words to describe how dull it was, and the people were jerks.

So I GTFO, and basically tripped over a totally new field, learned to read blueprints, met a ton of cool people.

Double majored in marketing & English, the latter of which sounds lame, but it's a huge advantage for business communications.

Life has had some interesting twists!

I'm just getting a vibe that really reminds me of how wild the economy was in the old "Dallas" days. Brother, we are OVERDUE for a return of that!!
