Whilst everyone is concerned about who is shooting at who in the Golan Heights area the map shows that the Syrian/IRGC forces may not actually be firing at the Israelis & vice versa.

Between the two there is an area controlled by the bad dudes and the reported shelling that is falling in Israeli or Syrian controlled areas might just be artillery 'overs' or fired at misidentified targets 'blue on blue'.

It is night-time and in the fog of war errors might occur.

The point I was trying to make is that in that area there are three groups fighting and mistakes & misunderstandings might happen.

At night even with the best kit in the world if there are two other groups besides you in the fight and shit comes your way how can you be sure which of the other two groups fired it.

These headlines and reactions about who is actually shooting at who strike me as a distraction to escalate the war rather than what is actually happening.

I'm just trying to get people to not jump to readily to bad assumptions.

On ADS-B go to the global radar view.

Top left is a tab 'menu' navigate the menu to 'options' find 'filters' and select filter for military.

I usual start a session by quickly checking 'other tracking info' for 'currently airborne military aircraft' to check if there are any interesting callsigns or aircraft airborne.

Check out the thread 'planefagging 101' if you haven't already. Lots of useful stuff to help you. Practice is the best way to learn.

Happy hunting, Cadet - I'm outta here it's been a long day.
