Use slab serif font for these and increase leading for better readability.
A lot of memes in the thread suffer readability issues. Don't sacrifice clarity for a fancy text effect. Clarity of message is paramount.
Look at branding. It is consistent and easily recognizable.
The meme should be understandable even at the small scale, before it is clicked on or zoomed into.
