Wow, I have seen many kids do that, my son is on the spectrum, sweet as pie, always wants to do something the right way, wants to be like other people, his stim was pressing down on his nose really hard and making similar sounds like he was in pain, used to bruise himself not knowing his own strength. I had to take him to the mirror and physically show him what he was doing to himself and that this was not good for him. He did grow out of it….
