CDC’s ’Safer Activities’ Chart Has Fully Vaccinated People Wearing Masks for Most Activities

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) “Safer Activities” chart, which categorizes high-risk and low-risk activities for unvaccinated and vaccinated people, has fully vaccinated individuals wearing a mask for most activities, giving them little to no edge over the unvaccinated population in terms of masking.

The CDC released updated guidance on Tuesday for fully vaccinated individuals, as roughly 29 percent of the U.S. population is now considered “fully vaccinated.” Despite that status, the CDC is not recommending those individuals to revert to a state of pre-pandemic normalcy, urging them to continue to wear masks in certain social settings — such as visiting with members of more than one household — and to avoid large gatherings.

The U.S. health agency released a chart titled “Choosing Safer Activities” to demonstrate the difference in risk between vaccinated people and unvaccinated people engaging in certain activities. Activities include visiting a hair salon, going to an uncrowded, indoor shopping center, riding on public transport, and more.

The chart shows vaccinated individuals getting the green light for all activities, both indoor and outdoor. However, only four activities, according to the graphic, should not include a mask. These include walking, running, or biking with members of your own household, attending a small, outdoor gathering with “fully vaccinated” family or friends, attending a small, outdoor gathering with both vaccinated and unvaccinated people, and dining at an outdoor restaurant with friends from multiple households. For all other activities, the figurehead representing the fully vaccinated person has a mask over their face.

Safe activities for fully vaccinated people requiring a mask include attending a “crowded, outdoor event,” visiting a hair salon, attending a small, indoor gathering full of both vaccinated and unvaccinated people from multiple households, attending a full-capacity worship service, eating at an indoor restaurant or bar, and participating in an indoor, high-intensity exercise class.

While the chart categorizes most of these basic activities as either “less safe” or “least safe” for unvaccinated people, fully vaccinated people do not appear to have a significant edge in terms of forgoing a mask.

The CDC’s April 27th guidance reinforces many of these suggestions, urging fully vaccinated people to wear a “well-fitted mask” in certain social settings.

U.S. health officials have yet to say when Americans will no longer be expected to wear a mask in most social settings. President Biden has also failed to say when masks will be a thing of the past despite his original call for “just” 100 days of masking.

New York Times Forced to Answer Project Veritas’s Defamation Lawsuit – Pleads Ignorance – O’Keefe Responds

The New York Times on Wednesday was forced to answer to Project Veritas’s defamation lawsuit.

Project Veritas sued The New York Times for defamation in November 2020.

As previously reported, the points of contention involve several defamatory and untrue statements made by New York Times writers Maggie Astor and Tiffany Hsu in their stories about the Project Veritas videos out of Minnesota involving a ballot harvesting scandal.

Astor and Hsu falsely claimed that Project Veritas was part of a “coordinated disinformation effort” and referred to the videos as “misleading” and “deceptive” while also claiming that Project Veritas used “unidentifiable sources” and “without evidence” despite the fact that several sources are named in the video and hard evidence of the scheme was shown on video. Ironically, the New York Times themselves used unidentified sources to concoct their conspiracy theories about the videos.

The New York Times admitted in its response that they never contacted sources in O’Keefe’s videos for comment.

“The Times didn’t reach out for comment. And maybe you didn’t do it because if you did do it, you’d have to publish that this was real,” said Veritas’ founder James O’Keefe.

“You didn’t even pick up the damn phone to make a phone call. And you call yourself journalists!”

Ron DeSantis Extends Emergency Order: Necessary to ‘Protect’ Floridians from ‘So-Called Vaccine Passport’

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) extended the state’s declared “State of Emergency” on Tuesday, contending it is necessary to “ensure Florida schools remain open for the remainder of the school year and to protect Floridians from being required to produce a so-called vaccine passport,” per the order.

The emergency order, which has been in effect for over a year, was set to expire at midnight, but DeSantis extended it again, citing the continued impact of the Chinese coronavirus beyond a public health standpoint alone.

Per the order, the extension is “necessary to ensure Florida schools remain open for the remainder of the school year and to protect Floridians from being required to produce a so-called vaccine passport as a condition of participating in everyday life.”

The order also cites the governor’s commitment to providing “all available resources to assist Floridians and local communities with their efforts” to recover economically from the impact of the pandemic.

It reads in part:

As Florida continues to realize a manageable trend in COVID-19 cases, over 8.5 million vaccinated individuals, a 4.7% unemployment rate well under the national average, and state revenues improving significantly from worst-case projections during the pandemic, gaining $4.1 billion additional projected revenue over three fiscal years from the August 2020 estimate, the state should prepare to resume non-emergency operations.

DeSantis has continued to forge a path of freedom in the Sunshine State despite a steady stream of critiques from members of the establishment media, vowing to continue to remain open.

“We have been open, we will remain open and we are not turning back,” DeSantis told reporters in February, emphasizing the importance of children having the option to attend school in person.

“These kids have been out of school in parts of this country for almost a year and if you follow that CDC guidance, they will not go back in this school year and they may not even go back in the fall,” DeSantis said at the time.

“That is a disgrace, that is not science,” DeSantis continued. “That is putting politics ahead of what’s right for kids. That is putting politics and special interests ahead of what the evidence and observed experience says.”

In early April, the Republican governor and rising GOP star signed an executive order banning the use of vaccine passports in the state.

“Requiring so-called COVID-19 vaccine passports for taking part in everyday life — such as attending a sporting event, patronizing a restaurant, or going to a movie theater— would create two cases of citizens based on vaccination,” his executive order reads.

The order is therefore “necessary to protect the fundamental rights and privacies of Floridians and the free flow of commerce within the state,” it adds.

DeSantis added that the legislature is working to make the protections permanent.

Pelosi: ‘I Will Never Forgive’ Trump, Capitol Rioters for Trauma They Caused

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that she would “never forgive” former President Donald Trump and the rioters at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

Pelosi said, “I will never forgive those people and the president who instigated the insurrection for the trauma they caused to the workers in the Capitol, whether the young people who work in our offices, whether custodial staff who make the Capitol run, whether it was the Capitol Police. They messed up my office, broke mirrors and stole stuff, and the rest, who cares. But I do care that the impact, the negative impact, the fright they instilled in people because they were doing their civic duty in the Congress of the United States.”

She continued, “Those people who came desecrated the Capitol. They desecrated with violation of what was happening there by trying to steal and destroy those mahogany boxes. They did it by looking for the vice president to scared him to go their way. I am always under threat, so nothing new for me. If they want to defecate into the Capitol of the United States— just horrible, they were so horrible and disrespectful that it wasn’t even sane.”

Pelosi added, “I want to talk about the truth and how we go forward again to protect that Capitol, find out the truth for the American people to know, and also to protect our institutions and the respect that they command among the American people. This is about patriotism.”
