Police Officer Who Made Viral TikTok Video Mocking LeBron James SUSPENDED — Fundraiser Launched

The police officer who posted a hilarious video mocking LeBron James has been suspended from his job over the harmless joke.

Nate Silvester, a detective in Twin Falls, Idaho, aims to “humanize the badge” with his funny and topical posts on TikTok.

According to Silvester’s best friend, Gannon Ward, the city did not find the officer’s video as funny as millions of us did and have suspended him for a week. While he is currently still employed, angry leftists are definitely trying to change that.

In the parody video responding to James threatening a police officer who had to shoot a teenage girl to protect another young woman who was about to be stabbed by her, Silvester staged a mock call to the basketball player for help deciding what to do while witnessing a black man stabbing another black man.

“Dispatch, I’ve arrived at that disturbance. Will you have LeBron James call my cellphone right away please? Thank you,” the detective says.

Silvester goes on to pretend that he is asking an assailant to “please put the knife down” and “stop stabbing him” while he waits for James to call.

“Hold on, it’s LeBron,” Silvester says. “LeBron, hey, yeah it’s me again. Listen, I’m out here at this disturbance call and there’s a guy trying to stab another guy with a knife. What do you think I should do?”

The detective then alludes to James asking what the races of the people involved are.

“Why does that matter? Okay, well, they’re both back,” he says, before again stating that one guy is trying to stab another guy with a knife. “Deadly force is completely justified,” he notes.

“So, you don’t care if a black person kills another black person — but you do care if a white cop kills a black person… even if he’s doing it to save the life of another black person? I mean, that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, but then again, you’re really good at basketball so I guess I’ll take your word for it,” he says.

Silvester concludes the call and waves to the imaginary stabber and his victim saying, “sorry guys, you’re on your own, good luck.”

Ward has now launched a GoFundMe to recoup any lost pay for Silvester.

“Hi, my name is Gannon. The recent viral TikTok video of a cop calling out Lebron James has cost the cop, my best friend in the world, Officer Nate Silvester at least a week’s worth of pay for suspension. He’s still got his job for now, but apparently the town where he polices didn’t find his TikTok as amazingly comical, and accurate as the 4.1 million viewers did, including some major news networks,” Ward wrote. “I just don’t want to see my friend lose out on any money for this, when it was meant to be satirical, and to point out an obvious flaw in Lebron’s logic. Please donate what you can contribute. Every dollar helps! Thanks!!”

Delaware Police Officer Brutally Attacked Sunday Pronounced Clinically Deceased

Delmar, DE – The Delmar police officer brutally attacked on Sunday has been pronounced clinically deceased and his family says his organs will be donated.

The Delaware State Police have arrested 30-year-old Randon D. Wilkerson in connection with the deadly attack that occurred in Yorkshire Estates.

Around 5:00 am on Sunday, Delmar Police Department was called to the 11000 block of Buckingham Drive in the Yorkshire Estates Community for a report of a fight in progress. The 9-1-1 caller reported that a man, who was later identified as Wilkerson, was fighting with other residents of the house, and destroying items inside the home. Moments later, a separate 9-1-1 call was received from a neighbor across the street from the original caller, stating he and his wife had been attacked by the same man. The caller then said the suspect fled his house.

Corporal Keith Heacook responded to the house of the initial call and was immediately assaulted by Wilkerson inside the home.

The dispatchers began checking on Cpl. Heacook and received no response. Additional officers were dispatched and a Wicomico County Sheriffs Office Deputy and a Delaware State Trooper arrived on scene to find Cpl. Heacook unconscious inside. Officers from Laurel Police Department arrived on scene, and upon pulling Cpl. Heacook from the house, began First Aid until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived.

The investigation into the separate, but related assault, which involved an elderly couple across the street revealed, Wilkerson knocked on the back door of the home and was met by the 73-year-old victim. The victim was then assaulted as Wilkerson entered the house and then struck numerous times with a glass object. Wilkerson then repeatedly assaulted a 76-year-old woman with the same object before fleeing the house. Both of those victims sustained significant injury and were transported by ambulance to area hospitals. The female victim was later transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

Wilkerson was observed by police on the rear of the property of the first 9-1-1 call and was taken into custody.

Cpl. Heacook was transported to TidalHeath in Salisbury and then given a police escort to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with significant head injuries. He was pronounced “clinically deceased” on Wednesday.

Wilkerson’s charges have been upgraded to murder.

Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings issued this statement: These are the worst moments any of us can imagine: mourning the loss of a member of our law enforcement family. Cpl. Keith Heacook served his Department and his community honorably and faithfully for more than two decades – a family man, a public servant, and a protector of his community until his final days.

The man who stole him from his family and from his community has been arrested, and mark my words: he will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It is with nothing but sadness that I commit, now that Cpl. Heacook is no longer with us, that his killer’s charges will be upgraded to include murder. He will be held accountable for his heinous crimes against Cpl. Heacook, against the elderly couple he viciously assaulted, and against Delmar and our state. The DOJ has been working together with Delmar and Delaware State Police, and all are doing everything in our power to ensure a successful prosecution.

But tonight is about more than the senseless evil that stole Keith Heacook. Tonight we remember a father and a husband; a veteran of Delmar’s police force; and a brother in Delaware’s law enforcement family. Tonight we mourn the loss of a man who devoted his life to serving others. Tonight we acknowledge law enforcement across the state, who willingly face danger each day so the rest of us don’t have to.

Tonight we wrap our arms around a community and a family and hold them in support and prayer; tomorrow, with clear eyes, we move forward in the pursuit of justice.

Lawmakers call for IG's removal: 'the only thing this watchdog appears to hunt is her own employees'

"She should be removed from office, in a manner consistent with applicable statutory notification requirements," Sens. Grassley and Johnson wrote in an April 28 letter to President Biden.

Sens. Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson are calling for Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Inspector General Laura Wertheimer to be ousted from office.

"Her behavior certainly falls far short of your calls for unity, transparency, and integrity. To put it mildly, the only thing this watchdog appears to hunt is her own employees," the Republican lawmakers wrote in an April 28 letter to President Biden. "She should be removed from office, in a manner consistent with applicable statutory notification requirements," they said.

The two senators noted that they have previously received whistleblower complaints about Wertheimer, and they also highlighted the finding of the Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency's (CIGIE) Integrity Committee (IC) that Wertheimer had engaged in misconduct.

"The IC's report is long anticipated, following a series of separate letters from our offices to various governmental bodies requesting documents, evidence, and interviews. Those letters include requests from 2017 to the Office of Special Counsel and the IC to investigate allegations brought to us by multiple whistleblowers of misconduct by the IG," the lawmakers wrote in their letter to Biden. "IG Wertheimer was nominated by then-President Obama and confirmed by the Senate in September of 2014. Just over a year later, in October 2015, we began investigating whistleblower allegations," they wrote.

In a letter to President Biden, Integrity Committee chair Kevin Winters noted: "After thoroughly reviewing the evidence and responses, the IC finds by a preponderance of the evidence that IG Wertheimer abused her authority in the exercise of her official duties and engaged in conduct that undermines the integrity reasonably expected of an IG. In particular, the IC finds that IG Wertheimer showed a disdain and resistance towards Congressional and IC oversight by fostering a culture of witness intimidation through a pattern of staff abuse and fear of retaliation. Furthermore, she wrongfully refused to cooperate with the IC's investigation by denying IC investigators full access to FHFA OIG personnel and documents."

The letter from Winters also stated: "The IC concludes that misconduct of this nature warrants consideration of substantial disciplinary action, up to and including removal."

Biden: Government must prove democracy can work

President Biden on Wednesday will outline his accomplishments in his first 100 days in office, touting that his administration is working to restore faith in democracy amid an economic and public health crisis and in the wake of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

"As I stand here tonight, we are just one day shy of the 100th day of my administration," Biden will say, according to excerpts of his prepared remarks released by the White House.

"100 days since I took the oath of office — lifted my hand off our family Bible — and inherited a nation in crisis. The worst pandemic in a century. The worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.

"Now — after just 100 days — I can report to the nation: America is on the move again," Biden will say. "Turning peril into possibility. Crisis into opportunity. Setback into strength."

Biden is expected to devote much of his speech to promoting the details of the American Jobs Plan and American Families Plan. The first proposal calls for a $2.3 trillion investment in infrastructure such as roadways, railways, broadband and long-term care, while the latter is a $1.8 trillion proposal focused on expanding access to education, child care, paid leave and health care.

The president will cite outside analyses that show the American Jobs Plan will add millions of jobs to the economy in the coming years, according to excerpts.

Biden is also expected to call on Congress to enact policing reform, tougher gun laws and immigration bills that provide permanent status for so-called Dreamers and address other flaws in the system.

"We have to prove democracy still works. That our government still works — and can deliver for the people," Biden will say. "In our first 100 days together, we have acted to restore the people’s faith in our democracy to deliver."

Biden's speech to a joint session of Congress will look different than most State of the Union or first-year speeches presidents have delivered.

Roughly 200 people will be allowed in the chamber to watch live due to coronavirus restrictions, and Cabinet officials will watch from home or their offices. The first lady will host five guests virtually rather than in a private box in the chamber.
