Christ is almost accurate, "the anointed one".. kind of depends on one's interpretation of anointed though. The definition related to the divine is "chosen by divine" but Jesus wasn't necessarily "chosen" from a group.. he was chosen by much of humanity I suppose, but the faithful wouldn't count him as just some random human chosen by God..

 

Clearly though, emperors in Rome were Christos before Jesus, and eventually Jesus was chosen by rome as "Christos".. its a name applied by empire.. But maybe that's just Gods way of choosing our emperor for us in Himself.
