TUCSON (KVOA) - Amid the pandemic, Tucson restaurants and businesses are having to adjust to keep everyone safe and to meet CDC guidelines. Child care facilities are also doing their part.

When you think of a learning center or daycare, you probably think of sneezing children, slobber on toys and germs. At La Petite Academy in Tucson, that is not the case.

"We have a bunch of safety protocols that we have introduced," Jon Aitken said.

Jon Aitken, the district manager for La Petite Academy, said they changed their protocol.

"No visitors are allowed in the back half of the school," Aitken said. "They have to stay in the common area, right here."

When parents come inside to drop their children off, both the child and parent have to complete a daily health screening. Mindy Duffy, the director of the school, said they are doing this for everyone's safety.

"When they come in, they get temp checked," Duffy said. "We do an overall welfare check with them to make sure they are feeling okay."
