A while back there was some discussion on the seismic waveform of explosions vs earthquakes. The burning on Epstein's island was said to be due to an earthquake but EQs don't usually set fires and it seemed similar to an unusual EQ off the southern coast of CA. I just found a waveform for the EQ related to Epstein's island fire: it looks much more like an explosion than a real earthquake:
