GOP reps question Biden admin on alleged 'political interference' in census, citing departure from estimates

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/house-republicans-biden-census-numbers-estimates-departures

More than a dozen House Republicans Friday are questioning Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo on whether there "was any political interference" in the final census numbers used to decide how many House members each state will get for the coming decade.

The letter, first obtained by Fox News, is led by Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee.

The Republican House members cited gaps between the number of House seats some right-leaning states were projected to gain or some left-leaning states were projected to lose and the final results announced this week.

Biden’s Address Garnered Less Than Half The Ratings Of Trump’s Lowest Speech

https://thefederalist.com/2021/04/29/bidens-address-garnered-less-than-half-the-ratings-of-trumps-lowest-speech/

President Joe Biden’s first address to the joint session of Congress garnered less than half of the viewers that former President Donald Trump did in his lowest-rated speech.

According to preliminary numbers, 11.6 million people tuned in to see the president deliver his radical agenda to a nearly empty House chamber on Wednesday night dotted with handpicked attendees wearing masks and seated at least six feet from each other, despite mostly being vaccinated.

While cable and streaming numbers are expected to boost Wednesday’s viewership by at least three million more, Biden’s performance still fell short of Trump’s 2020 speech which received 37.2 million viewers. Biden’s numbers lagged even more behind Trump’s 2019, 2018, and 2017 numbers which received 46.8 million, 46 million, and 48 million viewers respectively.

Idaho Bans Teachers From Forcing Students To ‘Affirm’ Critical Race Theory In Government Schools

https://thefederalist.com/2021/04/29/idaho-bans-teachers-from-forcing-students-to-affirm-critical-race-theory-in-government-schools/

After the Idaho legislature recently approved a ban on teachers “indoctrinating” students with critical race theory in schools, the Republican governor signed it into law on Wednesday.

The bill, signed by Gov. Brad Little, does not necessarily ban critical race theory fully, but it bans educators from forcing students to “affirm, adopt or adhere to” any doctrines that claim any person’s race, ethnicity, sex, or religion maintain responsibility for past actions of their identity group. Little wrote in the bill’s transmittal letter that critical race theory “undermines popular support for public education in Idaho.”

Supreme Court Backs Illegal Immigrant Challenging Deportation

https://www.newsmax.com/politics/supreme-court-scotus-immigration-deportation/2021/04/30/id/1019634/

Strange Bedfellows in this one

The U.S. Supreme Court has sided with an illegal immigrant from Guatemala fighting his deportation by immigration authorities in a 6-3 decision authored by Justice Neil Gorsuch that "focused on a single word," ABC News reports.

Agusto Niz-Chavez brought the case after the government initiated deportation proceedings against him in 2013, about eight years after he first crossed the border into the U.S. in 2005. The government sent two notices, the first alerting him to the charges against him and the second giving the date and time of his court appointment.

Federal law states that an immigrant can only appeal a removal order if they've been in the U.S. for 10 years, and the law says that the delivery of a notice to appear pauses the clock, but Niz-Chavez claimed that the multiple notices did not qualify as the single notice that the law requires, an argument that six of the court's justices agreed with. The majority ruled on Thursday that the Department of Justice broke federal law when it failed to issue a single "notice to appear" that provided details about the charges and a date to appear in court.

"To an ordinary reader — both in 1996 and today — 'a' notice would seem to suggest just that: 'a' single document containing the required information, not a mishmash of pieces with some assembly required," wrote Gorsuch, who was joined by Justices Clarence Thomas, Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Amy Coney Barrett.

"Someone who agrees to buy 'a car' would hardly expect to receive the chassis today, wheels next week, and an engine to follow," the justice continued.

"At one level, today's dispute may seem semantic, focused on a single word, a small one at that. But words are how the law constrains power. In this case, the law's terms ensure that, when the federal government seeks a procedural advantage against an individual, it will at least supply him with a single and reasonably comprehensive statement of the nature of the proceedings against him. If men must turn square corners when they deal with the government, it cannot be too much to expect the government to turn square corners when it deals with them," he added.

ABC notes that Gorsuch cites that "square corners" fairness doctrine that Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes established in 1920.

Chief Justice John Roberts joined Justices Samuel Alito and Brett Kavanaugh in dissenting, with Kavanaugh writing the minority opinion.

"The Court today agrees with Niz-Chavez that, in order to stop the 10-year clock, the Government must provide written notice in one document, not two. I find the Court's conclusion rather perplexing as a matter of statutory interpretation and common sense. I therefore respectfully dissent," he wrote.

Cornell University's Stephen Yale-Loehr, a professor of immigration law, told Reuters that the ruling will change how the Department of Homeland Security operates and will slow immigration proceedings against a number of people. He also noted that for a lot of people, such as Niz-Chavez, this ruling provides "a second chance to try to prove that they qualify for cancellation of removal and other forms of relief."

College professors caught on hot mic gloating about teaching Marxism, social justice to students

https://www.theblaze.com/news/professors-hot-mic-marxism-social-justice

"I mean, it's all social justice, all day, every day. I get to talk about the things I love all the time. All day [at my day classes], all night of my night classes," Harris said gleefully about her time teaching at the university. "I'm really living the life over here."

Harris, who reportedly teaches "middle school theory and practice" to future educators at Roosevelt, called social justice "a part of everything" and a "foundation."

"Yeah. I always flip out the kids that take my master's class on fiscal policy and public budgets within the first three or four classes are devoted to philosophy of social justice and how you organize society. We don't talk about one, you know, budgetary item," added Martire, who teaches public policy and public administration at the university.

"They're like, oh, man. Professor Martire, this is a really weird way to teach a budget," he said with a smile.

Murder suspect called victim he allegedly stabbed to death an 'anti-masker' just after incident, police say

https://www.theblaze.com/news/murder-suspect-victim-anti-masker

Police said a murder suspect called the victim he allegedly stabbed to death an "anti-masker" soon after last weekend's incident outside a Bothell, Washington, apartment building, the Seattle Times reported.

What are the details?

Charging documents say John Huynh and two friends exited the Villas at Beardslee apartments just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday and headed to a car parked nearby where Huynh's wife was waiting, the paper said.

With that a man — a stranger and fellow resident of the apartment building — flashed his middle finger, and Huynh stopped to ask him if he had flipped him off or waved to him, the Times said, citing charging papers.

The pair faced each other about four or five feet apart when the man lunged forward, stabbed Huynh in the chest, and then ran back into the building, the paper said, citing the charges.

A friend of Huynh ran over and put pressure on the wound, and witnesses called 911 and got the attention of a Bothell police officer who was across the street, the Times said, citing the charging papers.

Soon a woman approached a police officer and said her son had been involved and needed medical attention for a cut on his hand, after which she gave the officer a key to her third-floor unit, and police entered the apartment and arrested 25-year-old Ian Williams in a bedroom, the paper said, citing the charges.

'Anti-masker'

Williams' mother told police her son ran into their apartment yelling for her and "told her that an anti-masker had attacked him," a Bothell detective wrote in charging papers, the Times said, adding that "she told him to show her where he was hurt, and he initially said he was not hurt, but he thought he hurt the other guy."

Police later obtained a warrant to search the apartment and found a folding knife with blood on the blade in the bathroom, the paper said, citing the charges, adding that Williams' mother told police her son normally carries a knife for protection and to open boxes.

Leftists MELT DOWN over Caitlyn Jenner’s GOP candidacy: 'Running as a Trump Republican & entering a world that hates you'

The less-than-favorable reaction to Caitlyn Jenner's bid for governor of California as a Republican has shown that leftists and so-called "transgender rights activist" care more about political party than actual transgender rights. Despite the fact that if she wins, Jenner would be the first trans governor in our nation's history — and prove that Republicans aren't 'transphobic' — Leftist activists would rather back Gavin Newsom — a cisgender, white male.

GOP Reps. Gaetz, Greene plan national tour to call out RINOS, 'radical left'

https://justthenews.com/government/congress/gaetz-and-greene-plan-national-tour-call-out-rinos-radical-left

Republican Reps. Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene have announced a nationwide tour to call out so-called Republicans in Name Only, or RINO's, and politicians whom they consider part of the country's "radical left."

The conservative firebrands say their America First Tour will start May 7 in the Florida retirement community The Villages, a must-stop destination for conservative candidates to win Florida statewide elections.

"The radical left is coming for you. And they know I'm in the way. Come stand with me as we fight back together against this radical president and his far-left agenda," Gaetz, of Florida, said in an ad for The Villages rally, according to Politico.

Gaetz told the news outlet that he is motivated by the "American First" movement that opposes foreign wars, illegal immigration and champions election integrity and fighting against communist China.

"These issues are bigger than any one election, and we remain ready to take our party and our country back," he said.

Gaetz and Greene, of Georgia, are going on the offensive and on the road as fend off their own problems at home.

Gaetz is under federal investigation for alleged sex-trafficking in connection with a 17-year-old girl. He has denied the allegations.

Greene was in February stripped by GOP House leadership of her committee assignments, amid pressure from chamber Democrats, for past comments about the far-right group QAnnon, school shootings, and 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Greene has apologies for the comments but like Gaetz continues to have support from the Republican Party's conservative base.

Among the potential stops on the announced tour would be Wyoming, the home state of GOP Rep. Liz Cheney who voted to impeach former President Trump after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Gaetz held a rally in January in Wyoming after Cheney's vote.

I love that she's not waiting to see which way the wind blows & sticking with Matt.

Researchers Investigate Link Between COVID and Menstruation after THOUSANDS of Women Report Changes to Cycle After Getting Completely Safe Vaccine

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/04/researchers-investigate-link-covid-menstruation-thousands-women-report-changes-cycle-getting-completely-safe-vaccine/

Thousands of women have reported changes to their monthly cycle after getting the COVID vaccine.

Anne Thompson received her first dose of the Pfizer vaccine April 12, on what should have been the last day of her period.

“I continued to have spotting the entire time. And now two weeks post getting the vaccine, I think it was three days ago, I started my period again,” Thompson said.

Her next period came a week a half early, prompting Thompson to wonder if the vaccine had somehow impacted her menstrual cycle.

It’s a question researcher Katherine Lee asked after her own experience.

”I had spotting when I normally don’t have any sort of menstrual symptoms, because I have the Mirena IUD,” said Lee, a postdoctoral research scholar in the Division of Public Health Sciences at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Lee reached out to Kate Clancy, an associate professor of Anthropology at the University of Illinois, who then tweeted about it.

“That tweet was sent February 24th, and I’m still getting, like, every minute an additional 20 notifications, that have some kind of engagement with that thread two months later,” Clancy said.

The overwhelming response prompted the researchers to create a survey, which they posted on social media. In all, 59,000 people have started the survey, describing varying experiences.
