Ohio Pro Police ‘Back the Blue’ Rally Featuring Marjorie Taylor Greene Set for Saturday Scrubbed After Officials Bar Security Fencing to Protect Attendees from Antifa, BLM Thugs

A rally to support Columbus, Ohio police featuring Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) set to be held at the Statehouse in Columbus Saturday was postponed by organizer Ohio Gun Owners after officials refused to provide security fencing to protect rally attendees from Antifa and Black Lives Matter thugs who were vowing to show up at the rally. The organizer had been trying to hold a peaceful gathering by asking for the fencing and requiring attendees to register online. Republican U.S. Senate candidate Josh Mandel was also scheduled to speak at the rally. Greene said in a statement that Statehouse officials would not provide police or allow her to contract off duty police as security for her as a member of Congress.

The rally was to be held the day after the funeral of Ma’Khia Bryant, a 16-year-old black female who was shot and killed by a Columbus police officer last week as she tried to stab another young black female.

The Columbus Dispatch reported on a Facebook video statement by organizer Chris Dorr:

Dorr, in a Thursday Facebook video, declared the event was postponed, citing concerns about counterprotesters and discussions with the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board, which handles permits for rallies on the grounds.

“We have to let Antifa and Black Lives Matter and some of these violent protesters into our event, and they have equal right to stand there and say what they want to and antagonize our members and our supporters, all the people there to back the blue?” Dorr asked. “Our legal counsel says yes.”

…CSRAB spokesman Mike Rupert said the board did not deny Ohio Gun Owners’ permit or cancel the event. “The Ohio Gun Owners reached the decision to postpone their event, and any question regarding that decision should be directed to them,” he said.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Craig Cvetan said the patrol was involved in the conversations with Dorr’s group, which requested additional fencing, because they oversee security for the Ohio Statehouse and its grounds.

“We had a plan in place to ensure safety,” said Cvetan, adding that the grounds are public property for Ohioans to gather and let their voices be heard.

John Kerry Invested In Oil And Gas Stocks Before Joining White House, Filings Show

Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry owned shares of multiple oil and gas corporations prior to joining the White House, ethics filings show.

John Kerry previously invested in Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation, Duke Energy, Cimarex, Dominion Energy, Xcel Energy, Exelon Corporation, Valero Energy Corporation and WEC Energy Group, according to Office of Government Ethics filings obtained by Axios. Kerry reportedly sold off his entire stock portfolio, which was worth between $4.2 and $15 million, prior to joining President Joe Biden’s administration.

The Texas-based Valero Energy Corporation was recently ranked the fifth-worst emitter of greenhouse gasses despite having just 14 facilities, the San Antonio Current reported in December. The company was ordered to pay $2.85 million in a civil penalty in October for Clean Air Act violations, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.

Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation, a billion-dollar fracking and natural gas company, has been cited for environmental damages. In 2014, a Pennsylvania court granted the company’s request to place a restraining order against an anti-fracking activist, The Guardian reported.

Kerry has railed against fossil fuel companies since Biden appointed him to spearhead the federal government’s climate change response. He has even warned oil and gas companies not to be on “the wrong side of this battle,” urging them to divest from current projects and invest in clean energy, CNN reported.

“They ought to be figuring out how do we become not an oil-and-gas company, but how do we become an energy company,” Kerry said during his remarks at an energy conference in March, according to CNN.

The filings also showed Kerry, who served as secretary of state under former President Barack Obama, was paid $5 million by Bank of America to lead its global advisory council and $382,400 by Deutsche Bank, Waste Management and Cornell University in speaking fees. The Rise Fund, a firm that invests in renewable energy stocks, paid Kerry $125,000 in consulting fees.

“The State Department’s Ethics Office reviewed Special Presidential Envoy Kerry’s assets and investments upon his appointment to identify holdings that could pose a significant risk of a conflict of interest,” a State Department spokesperson said in a statement, according to Axios. “Special Presidential Envoy Kerry agreed to divest the assets identified by the Ethics Office and has done so.”

The State Department didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

“The Department of Defense is proceeding with canceling all border barrier construction projects paid for with funds originally intended for other military missions and functions such as schools for military children, overseas military construction projects in partner nations and the National Guard and Reserve equipment account,” Brown said. “DoD has begun taking all necessary actions to cancel border barrier projects and to coordinate with interagency partners.”
