YT: penguinsix - "The President and First Lady departed the Ellipse landing zone next to the White House today on their way to Andrews AFB and then on to Atlanta, where they were to meet with former President Jimmy Carter who was unable to attend the Inauguration last January.
We got to see the Park Police Eagle scouting the area and then three helicopters approach the LZ, with one being a decoy and another for White House staff. Unfortunately, the departure was delayed nearly an hour due to a last-minute press interview, which was a tad annoying. Here are the scenes from 17th street about 500 feet away from the landing zone.
As a bonus a Secret Service officer was near by and we hear his radio go off with the Secret Service callsigns 'Celtic and Capri' which was kind of interesting."
