This is why the Navy wanted to get out ahead of this and perfect the claim to the patent. Cheap nuclear reactors would be an awesome benefit to an ocean going navy…not paying patent royalties on all those reactors would be an immense savings. This also permits the general adoption widely without the restrictions normal profit-motive patent enforcement would impose if a commercial actor was the patent holder.

For sure if we're talking about the old school reactors. This is all new, much, much cheaper and safer invention. If the USG is the patent holder, then corporate chokeholds are sidestepped. That together with the disruptive nature of a new energy source can put an end once and for all to the oil economy that has wrecked the world since Rockefeller figured it out.

This will lift families and nations alike from the boot of the rich that has controlled us for almost 200 years.

I've actually been following this for years and had just about given up. This is FAR more disruptive and anyone can imagine at this point. These reactors can be scaled from tabletop/vehicle sized to industrial scale. The components are cheap commodities and actual fuel is hydrogen…the most abundant element in the universe.

Once the adoption curve begins and the engineers globally start really figuring out how to optimize the fx…there is no end to the possibilities.

Imagine never having to fill up your car…or your plane, ship, etc… imagine living in Siberia and never worrying about heat, in a third world country and getting diesel for plowing or pumping water or running lights for the village.

Our world is about to change DRAMATICALLY!

No more oil wars. No more petrodollar.

The days of centralized control of energy as a political/economic weapon are ending.

There will the legacy drawdown of petroleum fueled products by the traditionalists and poor, but it be become the film of the digital camera age. Good, but better is cheaper and way more abundant.

I just switched my lawn tools to 80v electric and will NEVER go back to gas if I have a choice.

You have this saved on your computer. Why? Why did you seek it and save it? Then, if that wasn't horrible enough, you chose to inflict this on others. Why?

Are you sick? Because sick people do this and fetishize it.
