The partner in Skyviews of America (Jim Riggs) owns a Democrat Lobbying firm called Platinum Advisors, he also owns a real estate company by the same name.
You can trace Jim Riggs’ climb to the top of the mountain in the business world with numbers.
For example, when Riggs created Shea Commercial, a Scottsdale-based office condo development company six years ago, he had two employees working out of a 1,200-square foot office.
Today, Shea Commercial has 36 employees and is preparing to move into its third office in the new Pima Commercial Center at Loop 101 and E. Raintree Drive, Scottsdale.
Shea Commercial built the easy-to-spot building and, on Dec. 18, will occupy 12,000-square feet of it while it sells the other suites to other companies.
But the upward climb by Riggs, founder and president of Shea Commercial — and his company — is even more vivid when you examine the growth of his relatively new firm by considering these figures:
• More than two-million square feet of space has been built since 1998 — and sold, including 26 sites in Maricopa County — and another 1.5-million square feet are planned for 2005.
• Annual revenue has jumped by 126 percent from 2001 to the first quarter of 2004, according to Shea Commercial. Since the company is privately-owned, no specific financial data is available. Units sell for between $160 to $225 per square foot.
• The firm, which has building developments in Dallas and Las Vegas, is planning to begin new projects in Washington, D.C., Chicago, San Diego and Denver in 2005.
