Swedish Politician Arrested on Multiple Counts of Child Rape

A politician for the pro-mass migration Swedish Centre Party has been arrested on several counts of child rape over incidents that are believed to have taken place from 2012 to 2015.

The man was arrested at around 11 a.m. on Friday and prosecutor Charlotte Genberg has claimed that investigators have also seized multiple electronic devices from him. He has not yet been identified.

According to a report from the Swedish newspaper Expressen, the politician is a member of the pro-mass migration Centre Party, led by Annie Lööf.

The newspaper claims that the man, who is said to be in his forties, is both a member of the council governing Vimmerby, and also sits on the board of the Centre Party for the municipality,

“This was new information for us that we became aware of through the media. It really is a heinous crime for which he is suspected. There is already an exclusion case against this person, due to previous problems he caused,” representatives of the Centre Party told Expressen.

Local newspaper Dagens Vimmberby reported on the arrest saying that in addition to the suspected child rapes, the politician is also charged with committing crimes against someone he had a close relationship with.

Prosecutor Charlotte Genberg told the paper that investigators are currently going through electronic evidence as well as interviewing witnesses in the case, and that the authorities will have two weeks to bring charges.

The arrest comes just over a week after a former employee of a Stockholm LGBT association was convicted for raping several asylum seekers who had come to him for help.

The man, said to be in his fifties, was sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of five separate counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault against migrants aged 26 to 28.

The incidents took place while the man was employed by the National Association for the Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex People (RFSL) in Stockholm in 2019.

FBI Spied on Giuliani, Trump ICloud Communications During Impeachment Push: Giuliani

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said that the FBI surveilled his and former President Donald Trump’s iCloud chats during impeachment hearings in 2019.

In an interview over the weekend, Giuliani, whose home was searched by federal agents last week, said that his lawyer, Robert Costello, was told by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan that the alleged wiretapping took place.

“He asked [the prosecutor] to repeat it because he couldn’t believe it was true,” he told WABC radio in New York. “To me they just trashed the president of the United States.”

When House Democrats launched their impeachment inquiry against Trump over his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Giuliani, who had been Trump’s personal attorney, said he was communicating with the president.

“Meanwhile, the Justice Department, while I’m defending him on that with others, invaded my iCloud,” Giuliani said. “I can’t fathom that would be done to an ordinary citizen,” he said. “The president doesn’t have any more rights than anybody else, but he doesn’t have any less. To me, they just trashed the president of the United States like he has no constitutional rights.”

1 Of 20 Border Sectors Apprehends Over 4,600 Migrants In ONE Week.

Border Patrol agents in the Del Rio Sector – one of 20 sectors comprising the U.S. southern border – apprehended over 4,600 migrants in just one week.

“U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio Sector have encountered multiple types of criminal activity over the past seven days, April 22 – April 29,” a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) press release notes.

Agents intercepted ammunition, magazines, and migrants with prior convictions for sexual assault:

On April 25, an agent assigned to Eagle Pass North Station discovered a black tactical backpack abandoned, near Eagle Pass. A search of the backpack revealed 24 magazines, one drum magazine, and 502 rounds of ammunition. Maverick County Sheriff’s Office took custody of the ammunition and magazines.

On April 23, agents near Brackettville, Texas arrested a Mexican national with a prior conviction of Sexual Assault in Tarrant County, Texas. On April 27, agents arrested a Mexican national near Uvalde with a prior conviction for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child in San Antonio, Texas. The next day, Uvalde Station agents arrested a Honduran man with a prior conviction for Sexual Assault out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Agents also disrupted dozens of smuggling attempts and carried out thousands of apprehensions:

Agents disrupted 69 smuggling cases attempting to smuggle 364 migrants further into the U.S. throughout sector and made 4,640 apprehension in the past seven days. Del Rio Station agents had multiple instances where they apprehended over 100 individuals at one time.

Chinese Leader Xi Jinping Lays out Plan to Control the Global Internet: Leaked Documents

Chinese leader Xi Jinping personally directed the communist regime to focus its efforts to control the global internet, displacing the influential role of the United States, according to internal government documents recently obtained by The Epoch Times.

In a January 2017 speech, Xi said the “power to control the internet” had become the “new focal point of [China’s] national strategic contest,” and singled out the United States as a “rival force” standing in the way of the regime’s ambitions.

The ultimate goal was for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to control all content on the global internet, so the regime could wield what Xi described as “discourse power” over communications and discussions on the world stage.

Xi articulated a vision of “using technology to rule the internet” to achieve total control over every part of the online ecosystem—over applications, content, quality, capital, and manpower.

His remarks were made at the fourth leadership meeting of the regime’s top internet regulator, the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, in Beijing on Jan. 4, 2017, and detailed in internal documents issued by the Liaoning Provincial Government in China’s southeast.

The statements confirm efforts made by Beijing in the past few years to promote its own authoritarian version of the internet as a model for the world.

In another speech given in April 2016, detailed in an internal document by the Anshan City Government in Liaoning Province, Xi confidently proclaimed that in the “struggle” to control the internet, the CCP has transformed from playing “passive defense” to playing both “attack and defense” at the same time.

Having successfully built the world’s most sprawling and sophisticated online censorship and surveillance apparatus, known as the Great Firewall, the CCP under Xi is turning outwards, championing a Chinese internet whose values run counter to the open model advocated by the West. Rather than prioritizing the free flow of information, the CCP’s system centers on giving the state the ability to censor, spy on, and control internet data.

Countering the US

The Chinese leader acknowledged the regime lagged behind its rival the United States—the dominant player in this field—in key areas such as technology, investments, and talent.

To realize its ambitions, Xi emphasized the need to “manage internet relations with the United States,” while “making preparations for fighting a hard war” with the country in this area.

American companies should be used by the regime to reach its goal, Xi said, without elaborating on how this would be done.

CDC: Over 9,000 People Who Got Vaccinated Later Tested Positive For COVID-19, Over 100 Died

Thousands of people continue to contract COVID-19 even after being vaccinated against the virus

According to data made available by states to the CDC, which then publishes the data on its website, over 9,000 people who received one of the controversial COVID-19 vaccines later tested positive for the virus, and over 100 died from the illness.

The latest data shows that 9,245 people tested positive for the China-originated virus after being vaccinated, and almost half – a total of 4,245 – 60 years old or younger, and thus far less likely from experiencing severe symptoms. 2,525 of those who tested positive for the virus experienced no symptoms, 835 were hospitalized due to the illness, and 132 died as a result of contracting COVID-19 while vaccinated.

Mexican Judge Orders Release of El Chapo’s Former Boss

A Mexican federal judge dismissed an organized crime charge filed against one of the founders of the Sinaloa Cartel and ordered his release. The top drug lord is alleged to be the boss of the famed drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

Known as El Guero, Hector Palma Salazar is considered to be a founding figure of the Sinaloa Cartel. According to information released by Mexico’s federal government, the Second Federal Judicial District in Jalisco ruled to dismiss the charge of engaging in organized crime filed against Palma and ordered his immediate release. A reason for the ruling was not revealed. Palma is one of several top cartel kingpins that Mexico’s federal judges have either absolved or released in recent years.

Palma remains in federal custody while authorities research to see if he has any other pending criminal charges. If none are found, he will be released, officials stated.

As Breitbart Texas reported, the capo had originally been arrested by Mexican authorities in 1995, and in 2002 the U.S. requested his extradition. The extradition came after a grand jury charged him with drug trafficking offenses in the United States. Palma was extradited years later but was given credit for time served in Mexico. In 2016, the U.S. sent Palma back to Mexico through the border city of Brownsville, Texas. From there, Mexican authorities took him to Mexico City and then to Altiplano where he awaits his release or further charges.

Palma was a close ally and considered to be the boss of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, the former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel, who is currently serving a life term in a U.S. prison on various drug-related charges. El Chapo gained worldwide notoriety for turning the Sinaloa Cartel into one of the largest criminal empires in the world.

Mom Caught a Cop Molesting Her Daughter in Bathroom, He Then Threatened to Kill Them Both

Bristow, OK — Imagine for a moment that you are a parent of a 9-year-old girl. You daughter tells you she is going to the bathroom but then doesn’t come back for a while. When you go to check on her, you find a grown man with his hand in your daughter’s pants, molesting her. This is exactly what happened to a mother and daughter in Oklahoma. However, when she caught the child predator in the bathroom, things got even scarier — because the predator was a cop.

Bristow police officer Bradley Don Goodin, was arrested in 2019 and charged with three counts of lewd molestation and two counts of child sexual abuse in separate cases. According to investigators, there were multiple victims — not just the 9-year-old girl who was molested in the bathroom.

Goodin was set to start his trial this week but in a last-minute move, he pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a little girl in a likely attempt to avoid a longer sentence. According to the DOJ, in a February 2021 superseding indictment, Goodin was charged with sexually abusing a total of three minors. He was also charged with being a felon in possession of 21 firearms. Goodin chose to plead guilty rather than go to trial.

According to the US Attorney’s office for the Northern District of Oklahoma, Goodin, 46, pleaded guilty to abusive sexual contact with a child under 12 in Indian Country. As part of the plea agreement, he agreed to a sentence of 15 years in federal prison. U.S. District Judge Gregory K. Frizzell will make the final sentencing determination at a hearing set for Aug. 11, 2021.

“Bradley Goodin was a danger to children, but now thanks to the Sapulpa Police Department, Creek County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and my office, he is a convicted child predator who will spend significant time in federal prison,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the parent of one of the victims walked into a bathroom on Oct. 5, 2019 and found Goodin with his hand inside the little girl’s pants. When the mother told this monster to leave his daughter alone, Goodin is alleged to have threatened to hurt the mother and the child if they told anyone.

“The witness said she and the defendant began to argue about what she saw,” an investigator alleged in the affidavit. “The witness said the defendant made several threats of bodily injury if she told anyone.”

In a child forensic interview, the girl described two incidents when Goodin sexually abused her on Oct. 5, 2019. During the second incident, the victim’s mother walked in. The girl was afraid to tell her mother what was happening at the time because she feared he would harm them. She later disclosed the abuse. With the aid of a neighbor, the mother fled the home with her children and contacted the Sapulpa Police Department. At the time of the incident, Goodin was an officer with Bristow Police Department. He has not been employed with the department since November 2019.

Goodin claimed to be applying itch creme to the girl’s bug bites. But the mother and the daughter both say otherwise. Goodin then went on to claim his watch got stuck in the girl’s clothing, which the mother mistook as molestation.

“The third time the defendant explained what happened,” an investigator wrote in the affidavit. “He said his watchband that he wears on his left wrist got caught in the shirt the victim was wearing and that must have been what the witness saw and mistook as him touching her.”

While this may have been temporarily believable on the surface, when another young victim came forward, all Goodin’s credibility went out the window. The second victim, an 11-year-old girl, told investigators that Goodin had touched her inappropriately more than five times, according to a probable cause affidavit.

It is a sad day when police officers — the ones who claim to protect us — are caught preying on society’s most vulnerable. However, there are a lot of sad days as this situation plays out like a broken record, over and over again.

Pedophiles often seek out positions of power and authority over children so they are in a position to abuse. Priests, teachers, coaches, police officers, counselors, and others are just some of the fields in which pedophiles will attempt to gain employment. Unfortunately, it’s not the first time we have reported on police officers preying on children, even in the bathroom.

Chinese Investors Have Bought up £135bn of British Infrastructure, Business, Schools: Report

British businesses, schools, property, and critical infrastructure have reportedly been bought up by Chinese investors to the tune of £135 billion, doubling previous estimates.

Companies or investors from communist-run China have been revealed to own stakes in infrastructure projects such as Thames Water, Heathrow airport, and UK Power Networks. The Chinese have also bought some £57 billion in shares in FTSE 100 companies as well as some £10 billion in property throughout Britain.

The scale of Chinese investment in the United Kingdom has significantly ramped up over the past few years, according to an investigation by the Sunday Times, which found that 40 per cent of the 200 investments uncovered were made since 2019.

A previous accounting estimate of Chinese investment in Britain, conducted by the American Enterprise Institute, put the level at $99 billion (£71 billion).

Of the £135 billion in Chinese investments revealed by the latest investigation, at least £44 billion came from entities owned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The paper did note, however, that the value of “dozens of investments” was not possible to determine, and therefore the true scale of Chinese encroachment in Britain is likely far higher than the £135 billion identified.

Former Tory leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith commented: “This demonstrates that successive governments have been asleep on the watch. This evidence today shows how dangerously we are sailing towards Chinese control of key aspects of our business.

“China poses the single greatest strategic threat to the UK and the free world and we must make sure that we understand exactly how they set about essentially controlling key areas of economies, not only in the UK but also abroad.”

The founder and chairman of Hong Kong Watch, Benedict Rogers, described the investigation as “incredibly alarming”, saying: “This is precisely why we urgently need decoupling, ending strategic dependency and to disentangle ourselves from the clutches of the Chinese Communist Party.”

“To allow this to continue is profoundly stupid and profoundly dangerous,” Rogers added.

California Hosts Latest Unaccompanied Migrant Child Shelter

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) officials announced the opening of another Emergency Intake Site (EIS) to move the increasing numbers of unaccompanied children out of Customs and Border Protection custody. The move mirrors recent announcements by HHS to address the surge in unaccompanied children migrants flooding the southern border.

The new EIS facility will be located at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, California. The Pomona Fairplex EIS is expected to receive 250 unaccompanied migrant children over the weekend. The Emergency Intak Site will provide shelter for up to 2,500 boys and girls between two and 17 years of age.

According to HHS, the EIS shelters being brought into service will provide required standards of care for children, such as providing clean and comfortable sleeping quarters, meals, toiletries, laundry, and access to medical services. A COVID-19 health screening protocol for all children will be implemented to follow CDC guidelines for preventing and controlling communicable diseases, officials claimed. Services will be provided by a combination of contractors and federal staff – including teams from the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response and the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

The number of unaccompanied minors in United States custody rose steadily over the last several months and shows no signs of waning. At the start of April, HHS held 13,204 unaccompanied alien children. Friday, that number stood at 22,557, a 70% increase. On April 1, HHS released 244 UACs to sponsors in the United States. On Friday, HHS released 580 UACs to sponsors, over twice their daily rate of releases during the month. In total, HHS officials released more than 7,000 UACs to sponsors in the United States in April.

HHS attempts to move the unaccompanied migrant children from temporary holding facilities at Border Patrol Stations as quickly as possible. So far, officials are unable to keep up with the current rate of illegal border crossings by unaccompanied minors. According to a law enforcement source within CBP, Border Patrol agents arrested nearly 19,000 unaccompanied children in March — an all-time monthly record.

Although current laws dictate the children may only be in CBP custody for 72 hours, many have been detained for more than ten days according to law enforcement sources. A number of Border Patrol facilities continue to face issues with overcrowding. HHS, by opening additional shelters can move UACs from Border Patrol custody into HHS Emergency Intake Sites, thus reducing the number held in temporary holding cells at Border Patrol Stations. The number of UACs being detained by the federal government continues to climb despite this effort.

HHS estimates the cost to house each unaccompanied child in an EIS is approximately $775 per day. The cost is lower at other HHS shelters that provide more permanent housing. Based on their cost estimates, daily expenses for the care of the UACs in HHS custody are over $9 million per day.

The Biden administration has not, thus far, communicated a clear plan to reduce the influx of unaccompanied migrant children.

‘Follow the Science’: Documents Suggest Biden Let Teachers’ Union Shape CDC School Reopening Policy

Newly-released documents suggest that one of the country’s most powerful teachers’ unions shaped Biden administration policies on the reopening of schools, despite President Joe Biden’s pledge to “follow the science” on pandemic policy.

The documents, obtained by the conservative group Americans for Public Trust through a Freedom of Information Act request, were reported Saturday by the New York Post. They show the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) lobbying the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) — and succeeding in having some of their recommendations adopted.

The teachers’ unions had long opposed a rapid reopening of schools, even when science said there was no significant risk. The Los Angeles teachers’ union also claimed that a statewide school reopening plan would reinforce “structural racism.”

Biden campaigned against President Donald Trump by claiming that he would follow the science on the coronavirus, pandemic, implying that the Trump administration had not.

When he announced the administration’s policy on school re-openings February 12, Biden said he would “follow the science” and claimed that the CDC “has provided the best available scientific evidence on how to reopen schools safely.” Walensky also claimed that there had been no political interference.

Netflix exec is found guilty of receiving stock options and $500,000 in bribes and kickbacks from tech companies to approve contracts - and must forfeit the $2.6 million home he bought with the money

A federal jury found a former Netflix executive guilty Friday of receiving lucrative stock options and more than a half-million dollars in bribes and kickbacks from tech companies to approve contracts with the streaming giant.

Michael Kail, 49, of Los Gatos, California, is a former Netflix vice president who oversaw the company´s internet technology department.

'We are very disappointed in the jury's verdict,' defense attorney Julia Jayne said. 'It goes to show that an innocent person can be convicted when there are so many counts stacked against them and there is a powerful corporation, Netflix, driving the investigation and prosecution.'

Jayne said Kail helped drive the success of Netflix as a cutting-edge technology company. He intends to appeal, she said.

Kail was indicted in 2018 on 19 counts of wire fraud, three counts of mail fraud, and seven counts of money laundering. He had pleaded not guilty to the offenses.

The trial began April 19 in federal court in San Jose, California. The jury found him guilty on 28 of the 29 counts.

Prosecutors said that Kail had accepted more than $500,000 in kickbacks - as well as valuable stock options - in exchange for approving millions of dollars in contracts for nine tech companies seeking to do business with Netflix between February 2012 and July 2014.

In a statement, the the Department of Justice said: 'He used his kickback payments to pay personal expenses and to buy a home in Los Gatos, California in the name of a family trust.'

The Mercury News reports he must now forfeit his $2.6 million three-bedroom, two-bathroom Los Gatos home to the federal government.

The Zillow listing for the property reads: 'This home has been updated and expanded and is in good condition ready for your buyers to move right in or remodel! Rare 3 car garage - Bring your imagination and creativity.'

Kail created and controlled a limited liability company, Unix Mercenary LLC, to receive the bribes, fund personal expenses and buy a home in Los Gatos, California, prosecutors said.

University of Minnesota student leader caught on video telling peers to place fake police calls to make life hell for cops

A member of the University of Minnesota's student government was caught on video imploring her peers to make the lives of police officers "hell" by placing bogus calls for help.

Lauren Meyers is the chief financial officer of the Minnesota Student Association and the co-chair of the Office for Student Affairs Mental Health committee. During a video conference with fellow members of the MSA, Meyers instructed her fellow student government members to use several tactics to "annoy the s*** out of" campus law enforcement.

During the video call, another student asked Meyers, "When you say disrupt UMPD, what exactly do you mean by that?"

White House Chief of Staff: Surge in Illegal Immigration Not Biden’s Fault

White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain said Sunday that President Joe Biden is not responsible for a surge in unaccompanied children crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

“People who are sending their children here unaccompanied, children as young as 6, 7 years old, coming here with no adult who are sent on a dangerous journey—I don’t think that is because of a speech Joe Biden gave,” Klain told “Face the Nation” in an interview. “I think it is because of horrible conditions in El Salvador and Guatemala and Honduras.”

Republicans, however, have blamed Biden for the surge in recent months, saying his rhetoric and his executive orders to rescind Trump-era immigration policies are the reason behind the recent surge of people crossing illegally.

“We’re working hard to get those children reunited with family members here in the U.S.,” he said. “The number of children we have stuck in our border patrol stations are down 84 percent in the past month. We’re making progress on resolving this problem.”

Nearly 5,000 children are in Border Patrol custody and more than 13,000 children are currently in custody with Health and Human Services.

During the month of March, Border Patrol apprehended 172,000 illegal aliens, according to statistics released on April 8 by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). An additional 1,000 per day are evading capture. In February, border agents apprehended 101,000 people.

Since he took office, Biden ended the construction of the border wall, ended the Migrant Protection Protocols, and limited Immigration and Customs Enforcement enforcement priorities. The Department of Defense last week canceled wall projects that were paid with funds that were initially allocated for the military.

People browsing a book about one conspiracy on Amazon are likely to get suggestions for more books on that topic as well as books about other conspiracy theories about everything from QAnon to the COVID-19 vaccine, the report found.

Iran’s state-run TV network reports that Tehran had negotiated an agreement with the U.S. and Great Britain to release hostages in exchange for unfreezing billions of dollars in Iranian assets.

“The Americans accepted to pay $7 billion and swap four Iranians who were active in bypassing sanctions for four American spies who have served part of their sentences,” state TV said.

A state department spokesman, Ned Price, immediately shot down the report.

“Reports that a prisoner swap deal has been reached are not true,” Price said. “As we have said, we always raise the cases of Americans detained or missing in Iran. We will not stop until we are able to reunite them with their families.”

This report is entirely believable given the history of hostage negotiations with Iran. When the Iran nuclear deal was negotiated during the Obama administration, Tehran publicly agreed to release several Americans in exchange for lifting some sanctions. Later we learned, Obama had sweetened the deal by unfreezing 400 million dollars in Iranian assets.

Price did not elaborate. But Biden’s chief of staff Ron Klain told CBS’ Face the Nation that “unfortunately that report is untrue. There is no agreement to release these four Americans.”

Tehran holds four known Americans now in prison. They include Baquer and Siamak Namazi, environmentalist Morad Tahbaz and Iranian-American businessman Emad Shargi.

AP tried to downplay the announcement by pointing to a “power struggle” between hardliners and moderates in the Iranian leadership.

The announcement by state television, relying on an unnamed source, comes amid a wider power struggle between hard-liners and the relatively moderate government of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. That conflict only has grown sharper as Iran approaches its June 18 presidential election.

The broadcaster long controlled by hard-liners has aired similarly anonymously sourced reports contradicting diplomats in Vienna trying to negotiate a return to its nuclear deal with world powers.

There’s been a power struggle between supposed Iranian “moderates” and “hardliners” since the U.S. embassy takeover in 1979. Every election since then in Iran has featured this “struggle” — as if it really mattered that the public face of Iran was moderate or hardline.

Joint Chiefs Chairman says 'dramatic, bad' outcomes could await Afghan military after US withdraws

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley said that there could be "really dramatic, bad possible outcomes" for the Afghan military as U.S. and coalition forces exit Afghanistan.

"Your question: The Afghan army, do they stay together and remain a cohesive fighting force or do they fall apart? I think there’s a range of scenarios here, a range of outcomes, a range of possibilities," Milley told CNN and Associated Press reporters, according to the AP. "On the one hand you get some really dramatic, bad possible outcomes. On the other hand, you get a military that stays together and a government that stays together."

Milley noted that it's not evident how the situation will ultimately play out.

"Which one of these options obtains and becomes reality at the end of the day? We frankly don’t know yet. We have to wait and see how things develop over the summer," he said.

The military official said that a "possibility" exists for the Afghan government to arrive at a negotiated political settlement with the Taliban, which would steer clear of a "massive civil war" that some people are concerned might occur.

Mossad chief discussed Iran with Biden in hour-long meeting

Israel finally got 'its day in court,' and in front of the most important judge: Biden.

Mossad Director Yossi Cohen had a full hour-long meeting with US President Joe Biden at the weekend, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

Channel 12 first reported late Saturday that there had been an interaction between the two on Friday in the course of Cohen’s other meetings but the US State Department declined to comment on the meeting or even to confirm that it had taken place

Next, a spokesman for the US National Security Council said that Biden had merely dropped by unplanned during another of Cohen’s meetings to convey condolences regarding the Mount Meron disaster.

This description appeared to attempt to underplay the significance of the meeting as less substantive and more a courtesy moment before getting on with the day’s work.

Despite these after-the-fact characterizations, and a clear attempt by at least some Biden officials to downplay the meeting, the Post has learned that actually, a full sit-down meeting had taken place and it lasted an hour. That’s not a short meet and greet for the US president.

CIA Director William Burns was also present with Biden and Cohen as they discussed Iran in depth.

Cohen also met with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.

What is fascinating about this turn of events was that going into this week, Cohen’s role in the visit to the US had been continually reduced.

In February, he thought he would formally lead an Israeli delegation, potentially on the way to becoming the Iran project manager after he retires from the Mossad on June 6.

But then, National Security Council Chief Meir Ben Shabbat wrestled aspects of Iran policy away, and the trip was delayed repeatedly for two months as IDF Chief-of-Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi seemed to be taking on a broader role.

Resultingly, Cohen was only going to meet with his counterpart, Burns, and Ben Shabbat and Kohavi were going to participate in many other meetings.

No one was even talking about meeting Biden, who had not yet met in person with any Israeli official since his election.

The last-minute changes seemed to start when Kohavi dropped out, ostensibly to deal with the uptick in rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.

Then, there were messages that Ben Shabbat talked to Sullivan and other officials about a variety of US-Israeli issues, with Iran not necessarily being the focal point.

It seems that in the end, Cohen may have received his wish at the last moment, getting to speak directly to the president to put forward a serious and detailed argument.

None of this means that the US will necessarily change its current Iran policy.

Yet, whether this happened because Cohen impressed Biden’s team more than they expected, because Biden himself spontaneously surprised his team by reaching out to Cohen whom he has known for years, or due to another reason, Israel got its “day in court” and in front of the most important “judge.”

Explosions Hit Large Chemical Plant In Iran’s Qom

On May 2, a large chemical plant located near the city of Qom in central Iran caught on fire, according to the Iranian media.

Videos showing black heavy black smoke rising from Movaledan chemical factory were released by many sources. A number of explosions were reportedly heard amid the fire.

Around 150 firefighters and 20 firefighting vehicles were dispatched to extinguish the large fire. Two firefighters were seriously injured and two of the fire trucks were destroyed after catching fire, according to the Fars News Agency.

A spokesman for the Qom Fire Department told the semi-official ISNA news agency that the fire had been prevented from reaching nearby alcohol tanks which would have caused a “very large accident” if they had caught fire.

The causes of the fire and explosions are yet to be determined. More details about the event will likely be revealed in the upcoming days.

Last year, a series of explosions and fires hit industrial sites across Iran, including a number of petrochemical plants. At least some of the incidents involved foul play.

The fire at Movaledan chemical factory may be the result of a sabotage act plotted by the Israeli intelligence. Just a day earlier, Iran revealed that the US had agreed to lift some sanctions in order to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.

Tel Aviv has been attempting to hinder the talks between the US and Iran in Vienna for a while. Last month, an act of sabotage targeted Iran’s uranium enrichment facility in Natanz. The Israeli intelligence was blamed.

2 Dead, 23 Injured After Suspected Smuggling Boat Capsizes Off San Diego Coast

California – Two people are dead and 23 others were taken to hospitals on Sunday after a suspected smuggling boat capsized off the San Diego coast.

The San Diego Fire Department said it pulled 25 people from the water Sunday morning.

Nearly 100 personnel were assigned to the rescue, including medics, lifeguards, firefighters, US Coast Guard and other local agencies.

According to The San Diego Tribune, the group was riding in a panga, a smaller fishing boat often used by smugglers to transport illegal aliens across the border.

Lubbock, Texas Votes to Ban Abortions — Dubs Itself ‘Sanctuary City For the Unborn’

Lubbock, Texas is now the largest city in America to ban abortions.

An ordinance passed on Saturday declared Lubbock a “Sanctuary City for the Unborn” and outlawed abortions within city limits. It declares abortion in city limits “at all times and at all stages of pregnancy” to be an act of murder.

There are 22 other cities in Texas and two in Nebraska that have passed similar ordinances, but Lubbock is the only one that currently has an active abortion provider. Everything Lubbock reports that Planned Parenthood opened a clinic in the city in October 2020 and began offering abortions April 15.

“Today is a victory for life and proof that the silent majority will still stand up for its Christian conservative values,” said state Rep. Dustin Burows (R), who represents the city in the state legislature, in a statement to the Texas Tribune.

The ordinance will also allow residents to sue abortion providers and anyone else who assists a person obtain abortion services.

According to unofficial election results, the ordinance passed with a large majority of 62 percent voted for it and 37 percent against.

The ordinance does allow for valid medical exceptions, including if it is done to save the life of the mother, to remove a fetus that died in a miscarriage, or to remove an ectopic pregnancy.

The ACLU has vowed to fight the city in court.

“The ACLU has a long history of challenging unconstitutional abortion bans and will continue to fight to protect the fundamental rights of the people of Lubbock,” Drucilla Tigner, Policy & Advocacy Strategist at the ACLU of Texas, said.

A spokesperson for the Lubbock Planned Parenthood has said that the clinic will remain open and follow legal restrictions as required.

A group of “Cuomosexuals” have formed an online fan group for embattled Gov. Andrew Cuomo — and say they have been bombarding a state hotline set up to report allegations against to governor, according to a new report.

Fans formed the Facebook page “Women for Governor Cuomo” about a month ago — with some members urging people to confront his accusers online, attend pro-gubernatorial rallies and help fund supportive ads, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.

The group boasts more than 1,100 followers, mostly women over age 55, some of whom say they have been calling the hotline and leaving messages in his defense.

“Support for the governor is what brought us all together,” said Pamela Morley, a 41-year-old upstate theater director who serves as one of the Facebook group’s moderators.

Cuomo, a divorced 63-year-old dad, has been accused of inappropriate sexual behavior, including groping and kissing, by a slew of women, many former aides.

The governor — who gained a large mainly female following, dubbed the “Cuomosexuals,” over his once-daily COVID-19 briefings — has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

He responded to the allegations against him again last week by saying that while he has “touched people,” it only involved such things as shaking hands, not unwanted sexual advances.

Morley suggested that Cuomo’s kissing of women on the cheeks and hands is just part of his Italian heritage.

“It’s nothing new,” she told the Journal.

Another Facebook fan-club leader, Sandy Behan, 68, insisted of the allegations against Cuomo, “There’s nothing that an HR professional couldn’t have handled.

China implements new crackdown on Christianity, shut down Bible apps and Christian WeChat: report

The Chinese Communist Party recently enacted a nationwide crackdown on Christianity in the past week, according to multiple media reports. China also reportedly shut down Christian-based apps in what appears to be the persecution of Christians in the authoritarian nation.

International Christian Concern, a United States-based non-partisan Christian organization that attempts to "bandage the wounds of persecuted Christians and to build the Church in the toughest parts of the world," reported that there was a major crackdown on Christianity in China that started on Saturday. The report stated, "Bible Apps have been removed from App Store in China, while Bibles in hard copy are not available for sale online," and "those who want to download Bible Apps have to use VPN to circumvent the Firewall."

The religious persecution watchdog said, "Bible Apps and Christian WeChat public accounts have been removed."

The report referenced a post on Twitter by Father Francis Liu from the Chinese Christian Fellowship of Righteousness, which stated that "some decent Christian WeChat accounts are no longer available online."

"A few snapshots of Christian accounts' landing page such as 'Gospel League' and 'Life Quarterly' no longer show any content," the ICC report added. "Instead, a message reads "[We] received report that [this account] violates the 'Internet User Public Account Information Services Management Provisions' and its account has been blocked and suspended."

Pastor Bob Fu, founder and president of China Aid that provides legal aid to Christians in China, wrote on Twitter, "On Wednesday official WeChat public accounts aimed at providing resources on Bible &guides on edifying the church to Chinese Christians were suddenly suspended. #CCP suspends Old Gospel &The Gospel Coalition. Both have a large number of readers within China's pastoral network."

Three-self churches, Chinese government-sanctioned religious organizations, are "increasingly selling books that promote President Xi Jinping's thoughts or the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) ideology," according to the ICC report, adding, "Even their WeChat accounts are turning into propaganda channels for CCP."

Yet while those two incidents may prompt the most Monday morning watercooler talk, what was most relevant from a macro and markets standpoint was Buffett's observation of something the Fed and Treasury are terrified to admit: that a tidal wave of inflation has been unleashed upon the US and it's only getting worse.

Speaking to Berkshire's millions of shareholders on Saturday, Buffett said that he was surprised by the “red hot” US economic rebound and warned the company was being hit by inflationary pressures.

"We’re seeing very substantial inflation," the 90-year-old billionaire who apparently does not have a Fed charge card, said in his nearly 6 hour long address to investors. But it's what he said that was especially ominous: “It’s very interesting. We’re raising prices. People are raising prices to us and it’s being accepted.”

Why does this matter? Because the ability to pass on price increases and have them stick, means the surge in prices will not be transitory, no matter how many times the Biden admin, the Fed or the Treasury lie and vow the opposite.

Council of Economic Advisers chair Cecilia Rouse said on this week’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday” that they expect to see some “transitory inflation” as America is coming out of the coronavirus pandemic.

Anchor Chris Wallace said, “Can you guarantee with all this spending that we are not going to have a new round of overheating the economy and serious inflation?

Rouse said, “These are very serious concerns, and we know that coming out of an extremely deep recession that there are going to be bumps along the way. We expect that there is going to be supply chain disruptions. That will cause some transitory increases in prices. ”

She continued, “We know that there are some places where employers are struggling to workers because, let’s face it — we’re still in the middle of the pandemic. Some workers would like to go back to work but have font child care because schools are not open and the pandemic is still out of control in certain parts of our country. When we get to the other side of this pandemic, I fully expect that our labor market will come back and be flourishing. That said, we do expect some transitory price increases. The Feds expects that as well. We do not see evidence at the moment that those have become what we call de-anchored so that we expect runaway inflation. That said, we know we have to be vigilant, and we are watching the data. We expect, at the most, transitory inflation. That is what we expect coming out of a big recession.”

Barrasso: We Want to Work with Biden on Infrastructure — ‘There’s a Deal to Be Had’

Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that Republicans were willing to compromise with President Biden on infrastructure, adding “there’s a deal to be had.”

Partial transcript as follows:

BARRASSO: Well, what we’re working with, and as Shelley talked to President Biden Thursday, I’ve been working regularly with the — with the other Joe, powerful Joe in Washington, Joe Manchin. And we’re focusing on core infrastructure. President Biden calls it hard infrastructure as opposed to soft infrastructure.

So I actually believe there’s a deal to be had if we leave things out like the Green New Deal, and recyclable cafeteria trays and climate justice, because $500 billion to $600 billion of infrastructure is a massive amount of infrastructure. And we ought to start with the core that we passed when I chaired the Environment and Public Works Committee, which was a plan that passed 21-to-nothing. I voted for it, Bernie Sanders voted for it. It focuses on building faster, better, cheaper, smarter. It focuses on the things that people think of as core infrastructure that the president talks about as hard infrastructure.

RADDATZ: So, on our ABC/Ipsos poll also. It says 67 percent of those polled said Republican leaders in Congress are doing too little to compromise with Joe Biden. You are a Republican leader. So, are there places where you could compromise on the president’s agenda? Where you see a good opportunity to meet him and Democrats in the middle even beyond this?

BARRASSO: Well, a couple of things. You know, with coronavirus relief, we did five bipartisan bills, each of which got over 90 votes and when President Biden came into office, gave the speech about unity on Inauguration Day. Ten Republicans went to the White House to meet with him on another coronavirus package, and we made really good faith efforts. He ignored all of it. They did this with budget reconciliation by the slimmest margin of votes. Ignored Republicans. We want to work together with this administration on true infrastructure and I think there’s a deal to be had.
