Covid Vaccine - No one I can really talk to about this irl

I’m posting here for the first time.

I’m reaching out because I feel like I’m going crazy.

First, let’s review the facts: In the United States, the Covid vaccines have been given emergency authorization for use by the Federal Drug Administration (Citation 1). The vaccine companies aren’t liable for injury for the most part, or not at all, according to lawyers (Citation 2 and 3). “These are the first messenger RNA vaccines to be produced and tested in large-scale phase III human trials” (Citation 4).

As of yesterday, everyone close to me has now received their second shots. They’ve all endured intense flu symptoms. Every day, I worry about them and their future. I just do not understand the thought process here. Most of these people are 100% healthy.

I can’t even bring up that I’m against getting it right now. My partner has offered to lie to our friends and say I’m vaccinated so I can avoid the QUESTIONING, PRESSURING, and even YELLING that I’ve already endured.

My whole life, I’ve been a radical thinker so I’m used to being alone in my point of view. But this time, this vaccine—this just seems so ridiculous. I think the only conspiracy is: this is a cash grab by companies under the guise of helping people—people who are so desperate to return to their past lives that they’ll do anything—while also stabilizing the global economy so we can continue producing now that the wealth transfer is complete.

I guess I just cannot reconcile the realization that people who I thought to be pretty intelligent are lining up in droves to be injected with an experimental vaccine. It is absolutely blowing my mind.

Would just like to add: I am not “anti-vax” and by calling anyone that when they’re questioning the covid vaccine, you are shutting down the discourse, immediately. I understand the importance of vaccines, science and most importantly, research and testing.

But what the fuck is going on with everyone?
