Chris Scott, owner of the Whistle Stop Café in Mirror, Alberta, has been in a dog fight with health officials since January when he openly defied the province's COVID restrictions that banned indoor dining.

He kept his restaurant open despite the very real risk of being put in jail for his act of survival.

However, the government blinked during that legal standoff. In February, restaurants in Alberta were permitted to reopen for dine-in service once again and there's no doubt that Chris' act of civil disobedience played a big part in that.

But the restrictions returned on Tuesday. Stricter restrictions, including bans on patio dining. And although Chris tried to continue his operation, Alberta's health tyrants had other ideas.

On Wednesday morning, the authorities raided and seized the Whistle Stop Café in a dawn raid. They also closed the Whistle Stop convenience store and gas station, cutting off this small town of 500 from gas and general supplies. They even closed Chris' campsite!

After the raid, Chris planned a big weekend protest. So to prevent it from happening, an Alberta court granted an emergency injunction, which allows anyone involved with Chris' "illegal public gathering" to be "restrained anywhere in Alberta."

The injunction to prevent Chris' political protest was authorized in secret without informing Chris' lawyer, Chad Williamson. That's the same lawyer that defended Chris and won against the government during The Whistle Stop's initial rebellion earlier this year.

The government is treating Chris like a terrorist for exercising his Charter rights. It's insane. It attacks the cornerstone of our democracy.

Kenney says Alberta’s “libertarian political culture” is driving up COVID-19 cases

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney suggested his province’s “libertarian political culture” is contributing to an increased share of people flouting COVID-19 measures and spreading the virus.

Kenney made the comments in an interview on True North’s The Andrew Lawton Show as Alberta sees a continued rise in COVID-19 cases. He said much of this can be attributed to poor compliance with public health restrictions.

“We have lower levels of compliance,” Kenney said in the interview, which airs Saturday. “And I think that may just be because Alberta has more of a freedom-loving libertarian political culture, which I think is a good thing. But it does, unfortunately, mean in this context that there is a larger share of people, I think, who have just moved past all of this and they’re just not paying any attention to the measures.”

Kenney continued by saying he “could not be more sympathetic” to people who want to guard their freedoms.

“I totally sympathize with freedom-minded people. I share their frustration and even their anger at everything that’s going on here. But I just beg them to understand that the conduct of each of us can affect others, and right now, if we don’t get this spike under control it will force us, the government, to do mass cancelations of surgeries in order to open up more ICU beds.”

Throughout the pandemic, Kenney has said his priority is protecting “lives and livelihoods.” His government has faced criticism in the past week for imposing a new wave of restrictions, which shut down personal care services, capped faith services at 15 people, and banned organized outdoor recreational activities, among other things.

Kenney has also not minced words when it comes to those openly breaking gathering restrictions. Earlier in the week, he lashed out at an unofficial weekend rodeo event in Bowden, Alta.

“The reason we are at this critical stage of the pandemic in Alberta, with record-high daily case counts and intensive-care numbers, is precisely because too many Albertans are ignoring the rules we currently have in place,” Kenney on social media.

Alberta reported 1,980 new COVID-19 cases on Friday.

A day earlier, on Apr. 8, Alberta health officials announced that the province had administered 57,716 in a single record-setting day.

According to Kenney, prompt and effective vaccination is at the key of moving past the pandemic and Albertans might get to see the other side of the tunnel by June.

“If we can just start bending this number down, the growth down, then I am absolutely optimistic that the vaccines will take over here, as they have in so many other places, and we’ll be able to get through this darn thing, I believe, in the month of June if we just buckle together,” Kenney told Lawton.

Ontario leads Canada’s provinces and territories in the severity of its lockdowns and public health measures, a new report on provincial COVID-19 responses suggests.

A paper recently published by a team of Oxford University researchers and data scientists compares Canada’s provincial and territorial COVID-19 government measures.

Included in the report is a “stringency index” which evaluates the overall strictness of lockdowns and public health orders. The index takes into account over a dozen variables including mask policy, gathering limits, restaurant closures and much more.

While relying on this research, True North has graded the severity of each province’s COVID-19 lockdowns. Grades were based on the stringency scores applied to each province by Oxford University – the higher the stringency score, the lower the grade.

Any province with a low stringency score of 0–20 received a grade of “A,” while provinces with a score of 20–40 received a grade of “B” and so on, with “F” being the worst grade a province or territory with a stringency score between 80–100 could achieve.

As noted by the report researchers, the stringency scores shouldn’t be interpreted as a measure of how good or appropriate the policies are but how relatively strict the lockdown-style measures are when compared province by province.

The official story is that everyone getting injected for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) is doing just fine, even though the reality is that people everywhere are getting sick or dying from the jabs at astounding rates.

To ensure that people have access to the truth, a website called Covid-19 Vaccine Reactions was set up to track adverse events as they occur. The site aggregates what does occasionally get reported in the news along with firsthand stories about people who suffered after getting one of the shots.

One of the latest headlines on the site is from the New York Post documenting a 42-year-old cybersecurity expert who died after getting injected. Below that is a Twitter thread from writer Alex Berenson about the mainstream media’s endless Chinese virus propaganda.

“I’m watching baseball tonight and out of nowhere the announcers start talking about the vaccine, how easy getting it was, how great it is … and the stadium signage says, ‘Take one for the team. Get vaccinated,'” Berenson tweeted.

“Two tiny tendrils of this overwhelming campaign, not just nationally but internationally coordinated on so many fronts – get vaccinated and fly to Europe or go to college or get free donuts,” he added. “And help me out here. I cannot think of another example remotely like this.”

Below that are screenshots taken directly from Pfizer’s mRNA vaccine trial documentation admitting that Wuhan flu shots do, in fact, shed onto other people, including the unvaccinated.

Section 8.3.5.1 of the document explains that humans can inhale spike proteins as well as pick them up from others via skin contact. This means that those who get injected for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) are potentially spreading DNA-modifying poisons to every person with whom they come into contact.

Further down on the page from this past week is a photo of an empty parking lot with a few white tents along with the caption, “First weekend vaccines are available to the general public in Colorado.” Apparently very few people in Colorado want to get injected for Chinese germs.

Other noteworthy items right on the front page as of this writing include a story about a man who veered off the road and crashed while driving due to seizures he suffered suddenly after getting injected.

Then there is yet another tweet by Alex Berenson about the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which the vaccine death cult is now trying to claim is “untrustworthy” because it is showing high numbers of vaccine-induced injuries and deaths.

“The vaccine church likes to pretend VAERS is untrustworthy,” Berenson notes. “In fact VAERS is the only reason we know about the @jnjnews (Johnson & Johnson) clots; the more active @cdcgov v-safe system didn’t find them and the clinical trial was worse – JNJ bluffed @us_fda into ignoring a case of thrombocytopenia.”

Meanwhile, the CDC is pushing to lift the “pause” on the J&J jab because the goal is to get as many Americans vaccinated at “warp speed” as possible. All of this came about, of course, thanks to Donald Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed” scheme for mass vaccination.

Another thing worth noting is the latest news about how mRNA injections can cause people to develop herpes – nothing like some sexually transmitted diseases to go along with that “immunity,” eh?

CDC Changes Rules for Counting Breakthrough Cases, as More Fully Vaccinated People Test Positive

As more reports surface of breakthrough COVID cases, in and outside the U.S., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) today said it will change how breakthrough cases are reported, effective May 14.

According to a statement on the CDC’s website, the agency said to help “maximize the quality of the data collected on cases of greatest clinical and public health importance” it will stop reporting weekly COVID breakthrough infections unless they result in hospitalization or death.

The news followed another change, announced late last month, in how PCR tests should be administered to the fully vaccinated.

Both changes will result in lower overall numbers of reports of breakthrough cases in the U.S.

A breakthrough case is recorded if a person tests positive for SARS-Cov-2 two weeks after receiving the single-dose Johnson & Johnson (J&J) shot or completing the two-dose Moderna or Pfizer vaccination.

Why the changes matter

In April, the CDC issued new guidance to laboratories recommending reducing the RT-PCR CT value to 28 cycles — but only for those fully vaccinated individuals being tested for COVID.

In an RT-PCR test — the gold standard for detecting SARS-CoV-2 — RNA is extracted from the swab collected from the patient. It is then converted into DNA, which is then amplified.

CT, or cycle threshold, is a value that emerges during RT-PCR tests. A CT value refers to the number of cycles needed to amplify viral RNA to reach a detectable level.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, a patient is considered positive for COVID if the CT value is below 35. In other words, if the virus is detectable after 35 cycles or earlier, then the patient is considered positive.

Dr. Anthony Fauci recommends a CT value of 35. Globally, the accepted cut-off for CT value for COVID ranges between 35 and 40, depending on instructions from manufacturers of testing equipment.

“If the benchmark were to be lowered to 24 it would mean that CT values in the range 25-34 would not be considered positive,” according to the Indian Council of Medical Research, as reported by The Indian Express. “A benchmark of 35, therefore, means that more patients would be considered positive than we would get if the benchmark were 24.”

In other words, lowering CT threshold parameter may lead to missing infectious persons.

CDC won’t report new breakthrough numbers this week

Because the change in how the CDC will report breakthrough cases is still being implemented and won’t take effect until May 14, the CDC did not report new numbers this week.

According to the latest available numbers, as of April 26, the CDC reported 9,245 people had tested positive for COVID at least two weeks after getting their final COVID vaccination. About 9%, or 835, people required hospitalization and 132 died.

Of the hospitalized patients, 241 were said to be asymptomatic or having an illness not related to COVID, and 20 deaths were reported as asymptomatic or not related to the disease.

The latest numbers are from 46 U.S. states and territories. It’s not clear which four states didn’t submit breakthrough case figures to the CDC.

“These surveillance data are a snapshot and help identify patterns and look for signals among vaccine breakthrough cases,” the CDC said in an April 27 statement. “As CDC and state health departments shift to focus only on investigating vaccine breakthrough cases that result in hospitalization or death, those data will be regularly updated and posted every Friday.”

According to the CDC, actual vaccine breakthrough numbers are likely higher as the surveillance system is passive and relies on voluntary reporting from state health departments and may not be complete. In addition, some breakthrough cases will not be identified due to lack of testing. This is particularly true in instances of asymptomatic or mild illness, CDC added.

The CDC said vaccines are still effective, noting the breakthrough cases represent a small percentage of those who have been vaccinated.

Canadian conservative media website Rebel News has reportedly been blacklisted by PayPal, the web’s leading payment processor, another incident in a growing trend of financial blacklisting of conservatives.

“PayPal, the online credit card processor just cut off Rebel News,” said founder Ezra Levant.

“This could actually destroy us. We use PayPal to process a million dollars a year. That covers half our staff payroll.”

Levant says his legal team will file a lawsuit against PayPal “as soon as next week,” for breach of contract and unlawful interference with economic relations.

The Rebel News founder says that his personal account, and the account of Rebel’s nonprofit were also shut down. In a video for Rebel News, Levant showed an email correspondence from PayPal that did not specify what rule the news organization had allegedly breached.

PayPal and other online payment processors have increasingly targeted conservative voices in recent years.

PayPal alone has suspended service to the free speech video platform BitChute, conservative street artist Sabo, English secularist campaigner Tommy Robinson, Republican political candidate Laura Loomer, Infowars, Jihad Watch and the American Freedom Defense Initiative (both later reversed), and the Core Issues Trust (CIT), a Christian charity in Ireland.

This is part of a growing trend that has seen far-left activist pressure financial institutions including credit card companies like Mastercard to suspend service to their political opponents. In 2019, far-left activists lobbied Mastercard to create a “human rights council” to monitor and potentially cut off payments to the “far right.”

Some liberal organizations have warned that the politicization of financial services is a mistake. In 2018, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) said it was “deeply concerned that payment processors are making choices about which websites can and can’t accept payments or process donation.”

Human trafficking increased 44% in 2018-2019: StatsCan

Human trafficking in Canada reached unprecedented highs between 2018 and 2019 according to the most recent data available from Statistics Canada.

In data released earlier this week, the agency reported that known instances of human trafficking have spiked dramatically.

“In 2019, police reported 511 human trafficking incidents, representing a rate of 1.4 incidents per 100,000 population—the highest number and rate reported since comparable data became available in 2009.” StatsCan wrote.

“Overall, both the number and rate of police-reported human trafficking incidents have been generally trending upward. The number of human trafficking incidents reported in 2019 marked a 44% increase from the previous year.”

Ontario was the epicentre of human trafficking in 2019, with 62% of known instances occurring in the province.

Out of the hundreds of known victims, 95% were women and 21% were girls under the age of 18.

It is notoriously difficult to achieve a guilty verdict on human trafficking charges in Canada. Since records began in 2009, the vast majority of human trafficking charges were either stayed, withdrawn, dismissed or discharged.

While reported instances continue to increase annually, the annual numbers are likely much higher.

The executive director of the London Abused Women’s Centre Megan Walker told the Globe & Mail that 481 women and girls sought help from the centre for trafficking from 2015 to 2015.

“We know that 500 is not actually the number,” she said.

The pandemic has also created an environment for greater rates of exploitation. Lockdowns have kept many vulnerable people isolated and have prevented people in dangerous situations from seeking help.

In February, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection reported that cases of online sexual exploitation of children have increased 88% over the past year.

I attended another Hamilton, Ontario, Freedom Rally on April 18, the weekend right after Premier Doug Ford's latest measures where he bragged about Ontario having the "most restrictive measures in North America".

It's a smaller crowd compared to the Toronto rallies, which makes what happened to them infuriating.

At this point in my career, I've never seen something like this. Dozens of government gang members, bylaw and armed police, stormed out of Hamilton's City Hall and immediately detained the majority of the crowd.

This is the law of the land under our current police state.

You are required to give your I.D. at any point if you're outside of your house when asked by law enforcement, under the government's stay-at-home order.

However, they only ask for it to dish out $880 COVID fines, or a summons to court, where the maximum penalty is up to $100 000.

In a country where, according to a survey by MNP, 53 per cent of Canadians are on the brink of insolvency, this is a nail in the coffin for simply exercising your God-given rights in a supposedly free country.

I was there to provide the other side of the story, the one that the mainstream media deliberately ignores.

It was shocking to see in person, so I had to go live on our Rebel News Instagram to bring immediate attention to Rebel viewers.

Just minutes ago, Pastor Artur Pawlowski was arrested for opening his church in Calgary. Half a dozen police cars swarmed around him and he was taken into custody.

What have we come to when Alberta — once known as the freest province in Canada — now routinely prosecutes and jails Christian pastors? I don’t know of anywhere else in the free world that has that disgraceful distinction.

Wal-Mart and Costco are open across Canada, so are liquor stores and marijuana stores. But a Christian pastor cannot open his doors with a massive police raid.

This is the second Christian pastor jailed in Alberta this year — the first was Pastor James Coates of the GraceLife Church outside Edmonton.

He was kept in a maximum security prison for 35 days for refusing to close his church. Eventually police raided the church itself, expropriating it and turning it into a permanent police garrison.

BREAKING: Whistle Stop Cafe owner ARRESTED

Chris Scott, the owner of The Whistle Stop Cafe in Mirror, Alberta, has been arrested.

In a video posted to The Whistle Stop Cafe's Facebook page, an RCMP officer can be seen leading Scott away to a nearby police vehicle. After a pat down, Scott is placed in the back of the vehicle.

Earlier this week, Scott set up what he called a “freedom park” outside of his restaurant, after Alberta Health Services had the premises locked shut. When Scott announced his plan to hold “Alberta's largest protest,” police received an emergency injunction that granted them the ability to arrest anyone supporting the rally, anywhere in Alberta.

Scott becomes the second high-profile arrest this weekend in Alberta, following the detainment of Calgary Street Church pastor Artur Pawlowski.

The injunction received by the RCMP defines these events as illegal public gatherings, and was outlined in a statement released on the federal police's website:

In support of the Alberta Health Service injunctionrecently granted, the Alberta RCMP are issuing the following statement:

On May 6, the Court of Queen's Bench granted a pre-emptive injunction against all planned events in contravention of public health orders. The injunction essentially defines these events as illegal public gatherings that do not comply with masking, attendance limits and physical distancing requirements.

Law enforcement agencies can act immediately under this injunction, without the necessity of Alberta Health Services attendance. There are a variety of ways to enforce this order, including the ability to issue tickets, fines and criminal charges to individuals who are breaking public health orders by organizing and/or attending these events. This can include arrest and removal any person who has notice of this Order and chooses to act in violation of it.

We all have a part to play in the provincial COVID-19 response. Our primary role is, and always will be, keeping all Albertans safe, while upholding the law. This includes enforcing public health orders for the health and safety of all Albertans.

A rural Canadian family doctor has stepped forward to blow the whistle on serious neurological adverse effects from the Moderna Messenger RNA COVID-19 vaccine he has witnessed in his First Nations indigenous patients.

Dr. Charles Hoffe, a family doctor in the village of Lytton in the Canadian Province of British Columbia, wrote an open letter to BC Provincial Health Officer Bonnie Henry voicing his concerns generated from his experiences treating patients suffering adverse reactions to the vaccine.

In an interview with independent Canadian media outlet Rebel News, which cannot be viewed on the outlet’s YouTube, but is available on Rumble, Hoffe said his community is composed of approximately two-thirds First Nations indigenous people and the only vaccine given to the community by the Canadian government is Moderna’s Messenger RNA variant.

“My concerns about it are just what I’ve seen in my own patients. You know, this is not some kind of theory, this is not a ‘what if.’ I’m just telling what I’ve seen,” he said in the interview.

Canada has a regulatory body called the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission which regulates TV stations and radio stations.

Canada's Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault says that their purpose is to not just regulate content but to actually regulate who is permitted to operate as a radio station or TV station or telecommunications provider and it sounds like that may extended to content published over the internet as well.

On Friday's episode of The Ezra Levant Show, True North's Andrew Lawton joins Ezra Levant to talk about Bill C-10 and internet censorship.

Police outside of Calgary's Fairview Baptist Church

For a second straight day, it appears police in Alberta are set to take action against another church for violating the province's provincial health restrictions.

In a video captured and posted to Twitter by Rebel News' Kian Simone, two police vehicles can be seen outside of Fairview Baptist Church in Calgary.

Police have made several trips to Fairview Baptist following the decision made by its pastor, Tim Stephens, in late February to disregard Alberta's 15 per cent capacity restrictions placed on religious gatherings. At the time, Stephens remarked that he was defying the public health measures in part as a show of support for Edmonton-area Pastor James Coates of GraceLife Church, who was taken into custody following his decision not to abide by the same gathering rules.

Then, at the beginning of March, Pastor Stephens told Rebel News that “no amount of fine, no amount of jail time” would discourage him from holding worship. Calgary police would later escort public health enter Fairview Baptist on not one, but two different occasions during church services to collect information.

Pastor Stephens was then handed multiple tickets for violating Alberta's COVID-19 restrictions.

Alberta's fight against religious gatherings continues

After Pastor James Coates was released from Edmonton's Remand Centre and returned to GraceLife, which operate in defiance of restrictions, Alberta Health Services and the RCMP seized the building and erected a fence around the outside of it.

GraceLife Church then took to holding “underground” services.

Yesterday, a second pastor, Artur Pawlowski, was arrested by police for his repeated violations of provincial gathering restrictions. Pawlowski, along with his brother, were taken away by officers in an arrest on the highway following a lengthy feud with public health and enforced by police.

Calgary Pastor Artur Pawlowski is still in jail.

He was arrested yesterday in a shocking SWAT team raid, made to kneel in the middle of a busy highway. It was clear from the moment of his arrest that this had nothing to do with a virus, and everything to do with political control.

Since that moment, he’s been treated brutally — thrown painfully into a police car; then forced to sit on a concrete slab, in a jail cell where the lights are never turned off. He is separated from his brother, who was arrested too, but he has no privacy — curious police come to gawk at him like he’s a circus animal.

But incredibly, Pastor Artur hasn’t lost hope — in fact, he’s more resolved than ever.

Our reporter Adam Soos managed to speak with him for five minutes. Here’s the full recording of that call:

As you can hear, Pastor Artur wasn’t aware of the massive wave of support for him around the world — obviously police wouldn’t tell him that. And he was also unaware that his three-person legal team has been trying relentlessly to speak with him — but that police refused to put their phone calls through to him.

This was an interesting interview for a number of reasons. But the fact that police were abusing him, and stopping him from getting legal counsel is outrageous — and shows that this has never been about a pandemic.

(Since that call, his lawyers have been permitted a very brief phone call to him.)

He is being treated as a political prisoner. This isn’t an arrest about a health order. It’s an “extraordinary rendition” like the CIA used to do to terrorists after 9/11.

Of course, Pastor Artur isn’t a terrorist. There isn’t a violent bone in his body. He isn’t accused of a crime. He simply won’t close his church at the whim of public health officials — the same public health officials who have no problem with Costco and Walmart being open.

We regard this recent statement of the CPSO to be unethical, anti-science and deeply disturbing.
