A Paris mayor has backed military chiefs who threatened to seize control of the country to fight radical Islam and prevent the 'disintegration' of France.
But despite anger, right-wing politicians like Rachida Dati are backing the troops
This is an interesting one, because she would know the facts on the ground better than most.
-She's half Moroccan, half Algerian
-she grew up in a poor area in a devout Muslim family
Her analysis on this subject will speak louder than most because she's seen the bullshit going on from both sides (sectioning off african immigrant to the outskirts, and the extremist element and sympathizers there in the banlieues), and you can't just dismiss her the way you could a man/woman of French descent if they said the same thing.
This movement will gain much more traction in France because of her position, in my opinion, because it will give some (if only a little) cover to those in the banlieues who want order but are afraid to speak out. It's a similar dilemma among African Americans who back the blue and not BLM, for example.
