Had a regular daily breakfast at one location up to a year ago. The owner fell into every ‘Mandated Rule’ the health department showed up with. Told her in simple no uncertain terms that i would happily defend her if she wanted to make a stand. She was horrified by my offer. Never been back.
Found a different place not a mile away. The owner told the ‘Health Department’ to stuff it. Told his employees to do as they saw fit. Some wear the mask, some do not. Absolutely booming business in the traditional way like just a few years ago. The old place has almost completely dried up (and I am sad for her), but my new place is now a hotbed of conversation, community, and congregation. Half the people are packing, and just itching for the ‘Health Department’ to show up and try condemning salt and pepper shakers again.
