Not sure if any PFs have noticed this or Anons have any insight into the significance of either Bowling Green or Glasgow, KY.

GORDO14 while out of Lincoln, NE on E4 overwatch did a loop around these two. Not unusual as what you see on a map and what pilots see with respect to navaids are different. So, I pulled up the IFR enroute high altitude and low altitude charts and even the sectional charts for the area and these maneuvers are independent of any navaids. That is unusual. It's also far enough away from the weather for that not be the reason. So, the pilots, who are also assisted by navigators in an E4, intended to circumscribe these places intentionally. ATC gives holds, etc with respect to navaids. So it looks like the flight crew's doing. Later on you can see where they are overflying the Memphis VOR directly…that's what you'd expect with most routing.

Just odd and seems to draw a focus on a place by birds that are watched by literally everyone who watches birds.
