I don't think their numbers are so high. I'm of the opinion that it's a small number controlling various bots and a huge bank of ips and flooding the board with the sheer number of posts.

Why would you want to?
The board becomes very unwieldy after 600 post, way more so after 700 so imagine at 1000.
That being said, I admit I haven't noticed this being too much of an issue as of late. Reduction in user numbers?
