We first learned of Stanford attorney and professor, Pamela Karlan, during the sham impeachment hearing in the swamp last year. Now she’s inserted herself and the DOJ into the forensic audit in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Now we have at least two instances where Pamela Karlan has inserted herself into operations to destroy President Trump. She is supposed to be non-biased in her new role but it appears she just can’t help herself.

We saw her in action last year when she made a ‘joke’ about the President’s teenage son, Barron. Representative Matt Gaetz put her in her place:

In a May 5 letter to Sen. Fann, obtained by local news station KNXV’s Garrett Archer, the Department of Justice’s Pamela S. Karlan, principal deputy assistant attorney general with the Civil Rights Division, said Cyber Ninjas’ involvement may be illegal.

“Federal law creates a duty to safeguard and preserve federal election records,” Karlan wrote. The department is concerned that this is not happening in Maricopa County, where the records “are no longer under the ultimate control of elections officials, are not being adequately safeguarded by contractors, and are at risk of damage or loss.”

The ballots are in a caged-in area under surveillance by at least 9 cameras 24-hours a day. They are more secure than they were at the Maricopa County Tabulation Center. Ms. Karlan should stay out of politics.

Second Man Arrested In Case Of 10-Year-Old Girl Sexually Assaulted By 5 Men At South Side Motel

CHICAGO (CBS) — A 43-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl at a South Side motel and trafficking her to other men is now behind bars. It is part of a long pattern of assaults against the girl that the CBS 2 Investigators first exposed early this year.

Two men have now been arrested and charged thanks to CBS 2 reporting. That is two men out of a total of five men who have been accused of assaulting that 10-year-old girl in a string of sexual assaults dating back years.

Chicago police arrested 43-year-old Joseph Brinner Tuesday.

Prosecutors said last year the 10-year-old girl was walking by a park near his home. He stopped her and asked if she wanted to drink or smoke. She told him she was 10, and he still brought her to a Washington Heights motel, charging documents say.

Police say he raped her on several occasions and at one point dressed her up to look older and sold sex with her to other men at a party.

The victim’s uncle spotted them at a gas station, and investigators say the mother even confronted Brinner at his home.

In October, the victim’s mother took her to Comer Children’s Hospital for a physical exam, but it wasn’t until this week that Brinner, a former Marine and current employee of the Union Pacific Railroad was placed into custody.

Prosecutors did not comment on the lapse in time. The lag times in this case have sparked protests and outrage by Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

Officers arrested a different predator, Samuel Brown, in March, despite having DNA evidence linking him to the rape since November. The Chicago Police Department launched an internal investigation into its mishandling of a child sexual abuse case as a result.

Former CBP Chief: Joe Biden, Alejandro Mayorkas ‘Turning U.S. into Sanctuary Country’ for Illegal Aliens

Former Acting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Mark Morgan says President Joe Biden and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are turning the United States “into a sanctuary country” for illegal aliens.

This week, as Breitbart News reported, internal data from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) showed that only 2,962 illegal aliens were deported in the month of April by ICE agents — the first time in recorded history the monthly deportation total has dropped under 3,000.

Likewise, in March, just 3,716 illegal aliens were being deported by ICE agents. At the current pace, fewer than 55,000 illegal aliens are expected to be deported this fiscal year, the lowest annual number in recorded history.

“Forget sanctuary cities — this administration is rapidly turning the U.S. into a sanctuary country,” Morgan, a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation, said.

The massive reduction of deportations has been driven by Biden’s “sanctuary country” orders that prevent ICE agents from deporting about 9-in-10 illegal aliens with restrictions that ensure only recently-convicted aggravated felons, terrorists, and known gang members are eligible for deportation.

Morgan said in a statement that the gutting of interior immigration enforcement is “all by design” to pack as many “potential new voters” for Democrats into the U.S. with the hopes of eventually passing an amnesty in Congress.

“Their strategy is clear: end strong policies that were stopping illegal immigration, process, and release as many illegal aliens at the border as quickly as possible, and then remove ICE’s authority to deport these individuals once they are in the country,” Morgan said of Biden and Mayorkas’s agenda.

“The Biden administration and far-left members of Congress view these individuals as potential new voters down the line, especially if they can ram through a radical amnesty proposal for the tens of millions of illegal aliens already here,” Morgan continued.

When former President Trump was in office, he deported on average about 240,000 illegal aliens each year in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

As the Washington Post notes, the drop in deportations has coincided with a drop in arrests of illegal aliens as well. As Breitbart News reported, ICE arrests of illegal aliens have been cut by 80 percent by the Biden administration compared to the same time last year.

The Biden orders have likely allowed thousands of criminal illegal aliens to be released into American communities who would have otherwise been deported, one report states. Those illegal aliens include sex offenders.

Today, anywhere from 11-to-22 million illegal aliens are living in the U.S. More than a million of those illegal aliens have final deportation orders by a federal judge but have yet to be deported.

Democrat AG Ellison: International Court Should Investigate US for Racism.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison (D) said he approves of international courts investigating the US justice system to determine if the latter is systemically racist.

Speaking on MSNBC during last Tuesday’s broadcast of “The ReidOut,” Ellison – the former Democratic Party’s deputy chairman – said, “(I)f we have nothing to hide, we shouldn’t worry about what might be found by the international community.”

“The International Criminal Court is looking at the American criminal justice system and its treatment particularly of African Americans and saying that it might be crimes against humanity,” said MSNBC host Joy Reid while talking with Ellison. She added that “this actually might be something that the international community ought to take a bigger look at in terms of whether there is systemic brutality, even torture, and in short, severe deprivation of physical liberty, persecution, and inhuman acts generally by American law enforcement. Do you agree with that kind of an inquiry?”

Ellison replied in the affirmative, saying, “I think it would be wise for the United States criminal justice system to open itself up.” He claimed that the “international community” has forced America to practice more “racial justice” in the past. “It’s largely believed that the Cold War and Cold War competition is what helped drive some of the Civil Rights movement as the United States was trying to tell the rest of the world and the emerging decolonized world, hey, join us, we’re on the side of democracy,” Ellison said, adding that people from those other countries were able to tell America “(W)ait a minute, I can’t buy a cup of coffee in your country.” This sort of internationally driven change could only improve America, Ellison stated.

“It can only make us better, and I think a little bit of humility toward the rest of the world, understanding the eyes of the world are upon us is important,” Ellison ended.

De Blasio rebrands wife’s $1B ThriveNYC — and makes program permanent

Mayor Bill de Blasio has quietly moved to rename and make permanent first lady Chirlane McCray’s embattled billion-dollar ThriveNYC mental health initiative, shifting the program into City Hall and creating the Office of Community Mental Health to house it.

De Blasio signed the executive orders inking the changes without fanfare on Wednesday, a few days after the initial announcement was buried by the news of sexual harassment allegations leveled against city Comptroller Scott Stringer.

The transition was swift.

The next day, City Hall sent a press release that identified ThriveNYC’s top honcho, Susan Herman, as the “director” of the new Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health.

ThriveNYC went entirely unmentioned in the Thursday statement, though the email address for inquiries from the press still used the ‘thrive.nyc.gov’ domain.

Meanwhile, the website for McCray’s controversy-scarred initiative quietly added a banner to the top that reads: “We’re becoming the Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health. Learn Why.”

It’s a far different picture than the one painted by Hizzoner and McCray as they rolled out the new office during his daily press briefing on April 29.

“And third, we want this work to deepen and we want to make sure it’s community focused. So, [we’re] establishing a permanent Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health,” said de Blasio during that morning press briefing.

“In the end, the way to reach people with mental health challenges is early and often – it’s schools, it’s at community-based organizations, it’s in shelters, it’s in so places where people need help, but, historically, have not had a place to turn,” he continued. “This vision and this office will ensure that mental health services are available at the grassroots all over the city.”

Teachers Union Head Defends Indoctrinating Children with Critical Race Theory

President of the American Federation of Teachers Teacher Union Randi Weingarten defended indoctrinating children with Critical Race Theory on Thursday.

Featured on the Black News Channel with anchor Charles Blow,Weingartensaid, “All of the sudden, you’re hearing people talk about Critical Race Theory; people who have no idea what that term means.”

She contended certain Americans are “trying to ban the 1619 project because it is trying to do exactly what you’re saying, which is to actually teach, uh, factual version of oppression in America, oppression of people who are in the in the indigenous nation, and oppression against people who were enslaved.”

Weingarten’s defense comes after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “led 38 other Republican senators in a letter Thursday to U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, calling upon him to withdraw the New York Times’ ‘1619 Project’ from taxpayer-funded grant programs,” Breitbart News reported May 1.

The Idaho House and Senate on April 28 approved legislation to block schools from compelling K-12 and higher education students to “affirm or adopt the tenets” of Critical Race Theory.

The battle over Critical Race Theory largely began when former President Trump directed the White House Office of Management and Budget in September of 2020 “to identify and eliminate any trace” of Critical Race Theory in the federal government.

ARIZONA: Ward Wants Mail-In Ballot Signatures Verified, Cites Previous Finding That 6%-11% ‘Unlikely’ To Be Authentic

Ward reminds viewers that, ina sample of 100 ballots, 6%-11% were found to have signatures that did not matchthe voter's.

After the Arizona Democrats and the Arizona Senate reached a settlement that the firm conducting the Maricopa County audit would not verify signatures on mail-in ballots without a prior agreement from the Arizona Democratic Party, Republican Party Chair Kelli Ward said she “certainly” hopes Cyber Ninjas will obtain such an agreement, citing a previous examination of a small sample of ballots that saw between 6% and 11% of signatures were “unlikely to be a match.”

Yesterday, National File reported that the Arizona Democratic Party reached a settlement with the Arizona Senate and the firm conducting the Maricopa County audit, Cyber Ninjas, that requires Cyber Ninjas to obtain agreement from the Democrats to begin examining whether signatures on mail-in ballot envelopes match the voter’s on-file signature. In a video update posted yesterday night, Ward revealed that this is not currently being done, and was not stopped, as the Democrats suggested in a press release, but said that she hopes the process of verifying signatures will be part of the audit.

According to Ward, the settlement states that “Cyber Ninjas will give a 48 hour notice if they want to begin signature verification on absentee ballots. That’s not currently being done,” added Ward. “I certainly hope it will be based on what we saw right after the election, when the court allowed our team to examine 100 signatures, and 6-11% of that small, small sample was thought to be unlikely to be a match by handwriting experts.”

Facebook SUSPENDS Populist London Mayor Candidate for Vaccine, Lockdown Post One Day After Trump Ban Upheld

David Kurten, the leader of the conservative populist Heritage Party, was banned for 7 days on election day

David Kurten, the leader of the Heritage Party and candidate for Mayor of London, has been banned by Facebook for 1 week for criticising the experimental coronavirus vaccine and lockdowns. Kurten was banned only one day after the Big Tech platform’s ban on President Trump was upheld.

Kurten revealed on Twitter that on Thursday, the day of the elections for the London Mayor and Assembly, he had been suspended for 7 days from Facebook. The Heritage Party leader posted on Twitter a screenshot noting that 5 of his previous Facebook posts, including some dating back all the way to October last year, allegedly fell foul of the Big Tech platform’s community standards.

Speaking exclusively to National File, Kurten noted that while Facebook did not inform him of which posts had been removed, he was able to see that one recent video upload had been taken down, where he railed against the coronavirus lockdown, and criticized the vaccines being handed out to every citizen for being created with experimental mRNA technology. “We’ve all been kept atomized, away from people in our homes,” Kurten said in the video. “The government has been an abuser.”

The Heritage Party leader described the action taken by Facebook against him as a “brazen attack on free speech and democracy by Big Tech”:

I often set out my political opinions on social media and have not said anything today that untrue or that I haven’t said many times before. I am opposed to lockdowns which are disproportionate and destructive to small businesses and civil liberties, and I do not agree with implementing ‘vaccine passports’ to coerce people to take injections of experimental mRNA or chimp virus whose manufacturers have no liability if there are deaths or adverse health effects. These are legitimate political opinions which should not be censored in what is supposed to be a free and democratic society.

Kurten’s suspension from Facebook makes him the most prominent British politician to have been censored on the Big Tech platform, and comes only one day after the Oversight Board for the company upheld their indefinite suspension of President Trump. While the suspension overall was upheld, the board decided that Facebook had applied the rules “without clear standards,” and gave the site 6 months to come up with a decision that was “consistent with rules applied to other users.”

Last week, Florida passed legislation that would result in fines for social media companies that banned or restricted the posts of politicians running in the state. While yet to be signed by Governor DeSantis, the decision by Facebook to suspend Kurten would have resulted in a fine of as much as $250,000 per day if he was a candidate in Florida when this bill is active. National File reported that America First activists had criticized the bills for being too weak, encouraging further amendments to strengthen the legislation.

German, Italian Police Nab Alleged ‘Ndrangheta Members

Italian and German law enforcement agenciesarrested 31 suspected members of the ‘Ndrangheta mafiain a joint operation assisted by Eurojust and Europol, the European police agency said in a statement on Wednesday.

The two European agencies have assisted Germany and Italy in setting up a joint investigation team (JIT) that targeted “two particular strands of an organized crime group,” believed to be involved in different crimes, including international drug trafficking and money laundering activities.

Around 800 police officers and tax officials took part in the operation in the two countries. Officers seized “at least several hundreds of thousands euros, as well as weapons, cocaine, two luxury vehicles and jewelry,” the statement said.

“Furthermore, a full assessment of cash amounts seized is ongoing and bank accounts have been frozen,” it added.

Along with the arrests, the JIT has identified another 65 suspects and police have searched their homes both in Italy and in Germany.

The operation was a follow up to the Eurojust and Europol coordinated Operation Pollino, in which 84 suspects were arrested in Germany, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands in December 2018.

The two agencies said that the organized crime group is suspected of having set up “the trade in cocaine between Italy, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain using encrypted EncroChat and Sky ECC communication tools.”

They added that a string of construction and hospitality companies was allegedly used to launder the proceeds in Italy, while the investigations in Germany focused in particular on drug trafficking and potential tax avoidance.

The investigation, according to Europol, is part of ONNET Project, “an EU-financed initiative to tackle mafia-type organized crime groups active in Europe.”

McConnell Warns Lack of US Troops Will See Afghanistan ‘Overrun’ by Taliban

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) previously criticized US President Joe Biden’s plans to withdraw troops from Afghanistan by September 11, as he and other Republican lawmakers have seen the move as a decision that will leave Afghanistan vulnerable.

Touching on Biden’s withdrawal efforts, McConnell claimed on Thursday that the Taliban could overrun the Afghan government by the end of the year should US forces be removed from the war-torn nation.

“I think there's a high likelihood that the Taliban will be back in control of the country, maybe as early as the end of the year,” McConnell told reporters while in Kentucky.

The congressional lawmaker underscored that it is a “mistake to completely pull out” of Afghanistan, noting that “some presence [of US troops] there for counterterrorism and training purposes is an American's best interest.”

Last month, Biden made the decision to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan, which was met with backlash from the Taliban since it pushed back the May 1 deadline agreed to under the Trump administration.

McConnell, as a part of the GOP backlash in April, previously called on Biden to explain why he chose now to retreat when the presence of the Taliban was still strong. On Thursday, McConnell emphasized the fact that in more than a year since the withdrawal agreement, the Taliban had largely held back on attacking US and coalition forces.

The Taliban has since threatened to resume the attacks due to the change in deadline, as reports state that in recent days the Taliban has occupied 52% of the country. The Taliban had previously held off on attacks largely as a result of the withdrawal agreement that was drawn up under the previous US administration.

Earlier, Pentagon spokesperson Jack Kirby remarked that American forces had only detected “some small harassing attacks,” and that they did not have “any significant impact, certainly not on our people or our resources there and bases.”

Following the withdrawal initiative, the US has dispatched additional military muscle to Qatar in what the US has maintained as efforts to bolster security amid the withdrawal process and decrease the spread of the Taliban.

The Afghan government and Taliban have continued talks related to the fight for peace, but many activists have voiced their concerns over the lack of focus on the rights of minority men and women living in Afghanistan.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Thursday that the troop withdrawal procedures are proceeding as planned.

US Supports Ukraine's Entry Into NATO

Kiev dropped its pursuit of non-bloc status after the US and EU-backed Maidan coup d'etat in February 2014, and has since expressed its intention to join the Western alliance. Under NATO's rules, countries with territorial disputes with neighbours, and those suffering from civil war, are not eligible to join until these problems are resolved.

The United States supports Ukraine's ambition to join NATO, White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has announced.

"We support it," the spokeswoman said, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on route to Lake Charles, Louisiana on Thursday.

"Secretary [of State Antony] Blinken is in Kiev right now to affirm our support for Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence. His trip also emphasises the importance of Ukraine passing key legislation to advance rule of law, anti-corruption and economic reforms that will strengthen Ukraine's democracy and economy, and further Euro-Atlantic integration," Jean-Pierre said.

"The Biden administration is committed to ensuring that NATO's door remains open to aspirants when they are ready and able to meet the commitments and obligations of membership and contribute to security in the Euro-Atlantic area," she specified.

The spokeswoman added that Washington "supports" Ukraine's reforms "and its border fight against Russia aggression."

Jean-Pierre's comments come a week after President Joe Biden told Congress that the US was not seeking an escalation in tensions with Russia, which has repeatedly expressed its concerns about the NATO buildup on its western borders.

The multi-billion-dollar social media platform Facebook has announced the debut of a new super-local feature called “Neighborhoods,” aimed at challenging hyperlocal social media networks like Nextdoor and “making new friends.”

Rather than simply alerting friends halfway around the world to what their internet pen pals are doing, Facebook has vowed to inform nearby users via a new and improved algorithm if it thinks the pair might be compatible – a semi-creepy feature that could either cement actual friendships or foment algorithmic stalking.

However, product manager Reid Patton insists the new Facebook Neighborhoods will please the users by giving them extra information about their friends – in this case notifying the user exactly how the suggested friend might integrate into their inner friend circle.

The new platform has been loosely deployed across Canada, while its US pilot sites are located in Charlotte, San Diego, Baton Rouge, and Newark. The user needs to be over 18 years of age, and has to share their location with Facebook. They can then join both their apparent neighborhood and the nearby ones – once their area is offered access to a “Neighborhood Directory.”

Data leak implicates over 200,000 people in Amazon fake product review scam

Names, email addresses, and PayPal details were exposed and left online.

An open database has revealed the identities of over 200,000 individuals who appear to be involved in Amazon fake product review schemes.

There is an ongoing battle between the e-commerce giant and dubious sellers, worldwide, who wish to hamstring competitors and gain an edge by generating fake reviews for their products.

This can include paying individuals to leave a glowing review or by offering free items in return for positive, public feedback.

How they operate and stay under Amazon's radar varies, but an open ElasticSearch server has exposed some of the inner workings of these schemes.

On Thursday, Safety Detectives researchers revealed that the server, public and online, contained 7GB of data and over 13 million records appearing to be linked to a widespread fake review scam.

It is not known who owns the server but there are indicators that the organization may originate from China due to messages written in Chinese, leaked during the incident.

The database contained records involving roughly 200,000 - 250,000 users and Amazon marketplace vendors including user names, email addresses, PayPal addresses, links to Amazon profiles, and both WhatsApp and Telegram numbers, as well as records of direct messages between customers happy to provide fake reviews and traders willing to compensate them.

According to the team, the leak may implicate "more than 200,000 people in unethical activities."

The database, and messages contained therein, revealed the tactics used by dubious sellers. One method is whereby vendors send a customer a link to the items or products they want 5-star reviews for, and the customer will then make a purchase.

Several days after, the customer will leave a positive review and will send a message to the vendor, leading to payment via PayPal – which may be a 'refund,' while the item is kept for free.

As refund payments are kept away from the Amazon platform, it is more difficult to detect fake, paid reviews.

Amazon's Bezos Sells $2 Billion In Stock Days After Blowout Earnings Report

In the days after Amazon reported blowout earnings, Jeff Bezos sold about $2 billion worth of stock. Additionally, he plans to sell as many as 2 million shares more, Bloomberg noted on Wednesday.

Filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission show that Bezos sold about $684 million worth of stock on Tuesday of this week, after selling $1.27 billion in stock on Monday. The sales likely helped put pressure on Amazon stock this week, as it sold off with the broader tech index.

Bezos still owns more than 10% of Amazon and remains the world's richest person, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire's Index. His worth comes in at about $191.3 billion.

The sales shouldn't come as too much of a surprise; they were made "as part of a prearranged 10b5-1 trading plan", according to CNBC.

Bezos has hastened his stock sales over the last couple of years: he sold about $4.1 billion in stock last February and sold more than $3 billion in stock last November.

Recall, about a week ago, Amazon quickly tapped new highs before retreating, with the rest of the NASDAQ, in the following several sessions. Amazon stock soared above $3600 after, in the first quarter since Bezos announced his departure, the company had a blockbuster quarter which blew away consensus estimates and also guided solidly higher than expected.
