900k Covid deaths in America? Gates-backed institute claims global coronavirus toll MORE THAN DOUBLE the official number

An outfit whose statistical models were used to justify early Covid-19 lockdowns is now arguing that the true death toll of the pandemic is far higher than the official numbers – and closer to their own apocalyptic predictions.

Covid-19 has killed more than 900,000 Americans and over 6.9 million people worldwide, the University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) claimed on Thursday, citing their own statistical models based on excess mortality.

By contrast, official figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University list 3.24 million deaths globally, of which 580,000 are in the US, as of May 6.

IHME chief Dr. Christopher Murray explained in a series of videos that they used a “variety of statistical methods” to determine excess mortality, which was then weighed against six other factors to calculate whether it would have been due to the coronavirus or other causes.

They compared “anticipated deaths from all causes based on pre-pandemic trends with the actual number of all-cause deaths during the pandemic,” then removed the deaths both “indirectly attributable” to the pandemic and “averted” by the lockdowns.

“When you put all that together, we conclude that the best way, the closest estimate, for the true Covid death is still excess mortality, because some of those things are on the positive side, other factors are on the negative side,” Murray said.

‘They’re coming to kill us’: Canada’s Rebel News CANCELED by PayPal without notice, founder says

Rebel News co-founder Ezra Levant announced that payment processor PayPal has canceled their account without an explanation. The Canadian outlet has been critical of the Covid-19 lockdowns and the government of PM Justin Trudeau.

“Look, this isn’t a mistake. It’s a cancel culture attack on the largest independent news agency in Canada. It’s censorship,” Levant announced on Thursday, in a fundraising appeal for legal fees to sue PayPal.

“They’re finally coming to kill us,” the Rebel News account tweeted.

According to Levant, PayPal sent a “form letter” by email last Friday after business hours, informing the outlet that their account – which processed over 150,000 transactions for 8 million Canadian dollars over the past six years – was canceled. The email had no signature, contact information, explanation or way to appeal, Levant said.

“We’re a big client. But with no notice at all, they just breached the contract. They ambushed us,” he wrote. Levant maintains Rebel News never breached PayPal’s terms of service, and that the company has simply ignored multiple letters from his lawyers.

Levant argues this is a coordinated effort, pointing to the fact that Google-owned YouTube handed Rebel News a week-long suspension before PayPal made its move. Moreover, in addition to the Rebel News account, PayPal shuttered Levant’s personal account, as well as that of the For Canada nonprofit, used to fundraise for charity projects.

“That’s why I don’t think this is a mistake. They’re trying to destroy us. And they don’t have the courage to even tell us to our face,” said Levant, who co-founded the outlet in 2015.

As Canada’s vaccine rollout sputters, Ontario & Manitoba premiers ask neighboring US states to inoculate essential workers

In an indictment of Canada’s Covid vaccine distribution strategy, the premiers of two of the country’s provinces have turned to neighboring US states to ensure shots for essential workers like cross-border truckers and teachers.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford explored the possibility of stateside vaccinations with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Wednesday. Whitmer was reportedly open to discussing the idea further. That development came after Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister said he struck a similar deal last month with North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum.

The scheme was later expanded to school teachers.

The cross-border overture came at a time when Canadian health authorities are debating whether to compensate for shortages of the AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccines by allowing people to receive two different types of Covid shots.

The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) is monitoring a UK-based study looking at the effectiveness of the mixed-vaccine dose approach, but the results are not expected until next month. According to the latest available government figures, Canada has fully inoculated just 2.55% of its roughly 38 million population.

This mixed-dose approach would likely involve “an mRNA vaccine like a Pfizer or a Moderna, combined with an AstraZeneca which is a viral vector vaccine,” said Supriya Sharma, chief medical adviser at Health Canada, at a news conference on Wednesday.

If the vaccine mixing protocol is adopted, it would mark one more in a series of major deviations from prescribed vaccine guidelines. Canada had earlier opted to increase the interval between mRNA vaccine doses from the recommended three to four weeks to four months in order to make supplies last – with the exemption of high-risk cases.

South Carolina Follows Montana In Ending All Supplemental Unemployment Benefit Programs

It appears we were overly cynical when we said just an hour ago that we won't be holding our breath to find out if any other state will join Montana in ending many unemployment benefits in response to the unprecedented worker shortage.

Just moments after we published that post, perhaps emboldened by the daring example set by his republicans peers in Montana, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster today became the second state to end the people's addition to government handouts, and directed the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce to terminate South Carolina’s participation in all federal, pandemic-related unemployment benefit programs, effective June 30, 2021.

Governor McMaster directed the agency to take the action in a letter to DEW Executive Director Dan Ellzey.

“South Carolina’s businesses have borne the brunt of the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Those businesses that have survived – both large and small, and including those in the hospitality, tourism, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors – now face an unprecedented labor shortage,” governor McMaster wrote.

“This labor shortage is being created in large part by the supplemental unemployment payments that the federal government provides claimants on top of their state unemployment benefits. In many instances, these payments are greater than the worker’s previous pay checks. What was intended to be a short-term financial assistance for the vulnerable and displaced during the height of the pandemic has turned into a dangerous federal entitlement, incentivizing and paying workers to stay at home rather than encouraging them to return to the workplace.”

In a memo to Governor McMaster, Executive Director Ellzey outlined existing federal unemployment programs and what will change when the governor’s directive goes into effect on June 30.

Those programs include the following:

Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)

Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC)

Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (EPUC)

Mixed Earners Unemployment Compensation (MEUC)

Emergency Unemployment Relief for Governmental Entities and Nonprofit Organizations

Temporary Federal Funding of the First Week of Compensable Regular Unemployment for States with No Waiting Week

In conclusion, McMaster says that following termination of participation in these federal programs, DEW shall return to normal operation of the State’s unemployment insurance program, including enforcing the requirement that claimants demonstrate active efforts to seek employment in order to remain eligible for benefits.

In response, Dan Ellzey wrote that “at the current time, there are 81,684 open positions in the state of South Carolina. The hotel and food service industries have employee shortages that threaten their sustainability. However, no area of the economy has been spared from the pain of a labor shortage."

The Director of the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce Director continued: “While the federal funds supported our unemployed workers during the peak of COVID-19, we fully agree that reemployment is the best recovery plan for South Carolinians and the economic health of the state. Last week’s initial claims numbers were the lowest since the pandemic began, and employers around the state are eager to hire and anxious to get South Carolina back to business.”

With 2 states down and 48 to go, or 49 - we are not sure if Washington D.C. is now officially part of the USSA - one can only hope that more states will follow in this example, although as with all things, we expect that the final breakdown will be by party lines with people in red states working and while people in blue state are paid to smoke pot and do nothing.

Biden’s Deputies Inivite More ‘Vulnerable’ Migrants Across the Border

The Biden Administration has reportedly loosened a Trump-era border policy to contain the spread of the Chinese coronavirus to allow “vulnerable populations” such as transgender people to enter the U.S. and seek asylum.

On Wednesday, El Paso Matters learned from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and migrant advocacy groups of the new exception to the policy (commonly referred to as Title 42).

Under Title 42, U.S. Border Patrol agents, overseen by the DHS, are allowed to immediately deport some illegal immigrants before they can legally apply for asylum, all to stem the spreading of the virus.

An unnamed DHS spokesperson told El Paso Matters that the Biden administration has decided to exempt vulnerable migrant populations from Title 42, noting:

We are working to streamline a system for identifying and lawfully processing particularly vulnerable individuals who warrant humanitarian exceptions under (Title 42). This humanitarian exception process involves close coordination with international and non-governmental organizations in Mexico and COVID-19 testing before those identified through this process are allowed to enter the country.

Although the spokesperson did not specify which migrants would qualify as “vulnerable” and benefit from the exception, El Paso Matters learned from advocacy groups that several “transgender” migrants had been allowed to enter the U.S. from Ciudad Juárez.

Héctor Ruiz, an attorney with Santa Fe Dreamers Project who specializes in helping sexual-minority migrants, reportedly revealed that the Biden folks implemented two new processes that only allow a limited number of vulnerable migrants to enter the U.S.

Referring to the new processes, El Paso Matters explained:

One is related to a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union alleging that Title 42 violates immigration statutes and constitutes an unlawful denial of the right to seek asylum. The advocacy organization has called on the Biden administration to end the use of Title 42 for rapid border expulsions.

The other process will be more formalized as a “consortium,” a collaborative process between non-governmental organizations and the U.S. government to facilitate the crossing of vulnerable groups, Ruiz said.

According to Ruiz, his organization has so far helped 15 to 18 transgender migrants enter the U.S. through the new exception process, adding that the total number could be much higher.

Susana Coreas, a transgender woman from El Salvador who first arrived at the border in February 2020, revealed that the U.S. is already providing most aid allowing the Casa de Colores shelter in Mexico de Colores shelter to house trans migrants.

Nearly Half of All U.S. Counties Are Now Second Amendment Sanctuaries

What the media isn’t telling you: Nearly half of all U.S. Counties are now Second Amendment Sanctuaries!

There are few stories the mainstream media enjoys more than “trend” stories.

Whether it’s plant-based fake meat, live-streamed workouts, celebrity podcasts, or Tic-Toc videos and other new apps, the media revels in reporting the latest trends that are sweeping the country – at least most of the time.

However, if the trend involves guns or the Constitution – especially the Second Amendment – don’t look for stories anytime soon, even if it’s a viral national trend.

The mainstream media has missed [read: purposely ignored] one of the biggest trend stories ever – the massive surge in Second Amendment Sanctuaries at the state, county, and local level.

As it stands now, more than 46% of all counties in the United States have declared themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries, according to Noah Davis of sanctuarycounties.com and its companion site constitutionalsanctuaries.com.

Davis has been tracking the movement since its inception – tallying the growing numbers every single day.

“There are 1,459 Second Amendment Sanctuary counties, out of a total of 3,144 counties, but I’m still tallying them right now,” Davis told me Wednesday. “I’ve got a bit of a backlog. I’m working on updating my national map, but they’re happening so fast, and I’m just one person in Virginia.”

The 1,459 includes counties located in the 10 states that have declared themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries, he explained.

Davis, too, has seen little interest and major errors in the media’s coverage of the Second Amendment Sanctuary movement.

“There have been people writing about it, but most refer to an article that was published in the Trace more than a year ago,” he said. “That story indicated there were only 400 Second Amendment Sanctuary counties, but that number is completely out of date.

“This is frustrating to me,” he said.

Davis explained that he was not politically active until the Democrats took control of the Virginia state government.

“They started proposing laws that would have made many Virginians like myself felons overnight,” he said. “I started looking for ways to fight back.”

Within a few months, he said, more than 95% of Virginia’s counties had declared themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries, and then the movement was copied in Kentucky and Michigan.

“After that it just took off,” he said.

As the Second Amendment Sanctuary movement grew, Facebook intervened. Second Amendment Sanctuary groups with hundreds of thousands of members were shuttered by Facebook in Michigan, Georgia, and elsewhere.

“They realized we were being too effective,” Davis said.

Iran Releases Video Threatening Strike On Israel's Dimona Nuclear Reactor

Iranian state media has again put out a hugely provocative clip depicting an imagined attack on its foreign enemies, which is clearly intended as a threat and "warning". On Wednesday we detailed that just days earlier a propaganda video set to Iranian patriotic music featured Iran's military launching a missile on Washington D.C., which resulted in an imagined direct hit on the Capitol Building. The clip briefly showed shocking footage of the Capitol bursting into flames as the lyrics praised the "avengers" who will "liberate Jerusalem" and defeat the Islamic Republic's enemies.

And now on Thursday state-controlled Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (or IRIB) has issued another similar video, this time depicting an aerial missile strike on Dimona nuclear reactor in southern Israel.

The brief clip simulates the vantage point of a fighter jet or a drone hovering over what clearly appears to be the large Dimona facility, after which a missile is fired down upon it, but then the footage cuts to an hour glass, suggesting time is "running out" for Israel.

Interestingly, just weeks ago on April 22 (in the overnight hours) what was widely described as an "errant" Syrian missile (as Damascus defenses had been responding to an Israeli raid) had fallen close to the Dimona nuclear reactor facility.

"A Syrian missile exploded in southern Israel on Thursday, the Israeli military said, in an incident that triggered warning sirens near the secretive Dimona nuclear reactor and an Israeli strike in Syria," Reuters had reported at the time.

Perhaps seizing on this capability of Iran or its regional allies to potentially hit an Israeli nuclear rector, which would cause untold severe damage to the whole surrounding area in southern Israel, Tehran appears to be putting Israel "on notice" over the latest string of Israeli covert sabotage incidents, most notably the April 11 Natanz attack which damaged Iranian centrifuges.

This latest clip was issued on the occasion of Quds Day, which is an Iranian Islamic holiday that specifically commemorates the expected "liberation of Jerusalem" and which falls every year on the last Friday of Ramadan.
