Anyone watching "The Chosen"? Thoughts?
Yea, we binge-watched it. I think it's actually pretty awesome. There are some liberties, but I'm not a new testament literalist. I actually think we've been had with a lot of the bible, perhaps by the church itself. Moreover, I think the effort to show the difference between the disciples and the cultural context of the moment are very effective. While I don't think it is or perhaps it's possible to make the point that Jesus is God outside of evidence which kind of only exists through some blind faith, the show does a great job making the point that we need saving and only God can do it. For me, that's good enough. Maybe it's just the Jews that actually need a Messiah.
