with blockchain type systems a person works and 'books' 'labor', he/she then uses their accumulated labor to essentially barter (at fixed rates) when they need labor performed for them.

the more efficient the bookeeping and management the moar value of their labor and less administrative fees and manipulation (banks, interest, price fluctuation loss, and theft).

a person saves 1000 hrs of their labout output and trades that blockchain entry to a contractor to build a house, bypassing much speculatory aspects of interest and commodity rates, etc.

no system is perfect and we do not want to forego free market, but rooting a monetary system in human labor as a base which is protected from being devalued is a fundamental start.
