COVID-19 Live: Boris Johnson reveals lockdown exit after alert level drops

The loosening of coronavirus rules will give Brits a well deserved taste of freedom - but it's thought the PM will ask the public to use their "common sense".

The penultimate phase will allow indoor mixing, and increasing the cap on outdoor get-togethers to 30.

And loved ones will be able to hug each other.

Hotels can reopen, alongside cinemas and theatres - along with indoor exercise classes.

People will still have to wear masks and stay 1.5 metres apart indoors unless they are with close family.

But MP for Wycombe, Steve Baker, has warned the PM it would be “morally wrong” to keep such social distancing measures in bars, shops and offices beyond June.

He wrote in The Sun: "The data is so good, and the doomsayers so wrong, that it cannot possibly be rational or morally right for us to have to socially distance from each other in any context or setting in the UK beyond 21 June.
