the deal with these wind turbines, to me, is a title grab to parts of the ocean.
why don't they make an aircraft carrior sized bardge and festoon it with wind turbines,, charge it up way way out at sea, and then sail to where ever power is needed and feed it into the local grid?

the other idea is to build a 'bridge' of giant floating craft that is also used for traffic. Say from woods hole to Vinyard Haven.
then we wouldn't need a ferry and you'd drive on the 'bridge' of ships (that are alos wind turbines) and do away with the Steamship Authority (another massachusetts special kingdom for the special friends of Beacon Hill)
