God job on the fasting. I also fast regularly because it works, my well being is better for it. But sugar in general is not as big a culprit in my experience/opinion. I noticed a lot of problems came when everything switched from beet/cane sugar to corn syrup/sugar. I also noticed more problems when GMO's came on the market. Also when bottled water came out.
Also not all foods are the same, even when it is the same food. Butter from Ireland is far better than that of Canada because the Irish cows eat so much more grass.
The traditional foods cultures eat around the world are not there by mistake. Things only got crazy when industrialization and processing of food became the norm, and we all know who owns those industries.
