Large Migrant Groups, Unaccompanied Minors Apprehended in Arizona Desert near Border

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended three large groups of migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico into Arizona over the weekend. The agents also discovered three unaccompanied minors including a nine-year-old girl wandering by themselves near the border wall and a dangerous canal.

Yuma Sector Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem tweeted an image of three unaccompanied minors walking by themselves along between a border wall and a dangerous irrigation canal on Sunday morning.

The agents took the nine-year-old girl and two boys, ages 12 and 17, into custody and processed them for transfer to ICE and Health and Human Services officials.

Also over the weekend, Yuma Sector agents apprehended three large groups of migrants near County Road 17 and the Salinity Canal. The three groups contained 42, 79, and 98 migrants respectively.

During the month of March, the last numbers officially released at this time, Yuma Sector agents apprehended 11,809 migrants. Reports show 5,231 of those were family unit aliens, 5,813 were single adult aliens, and 765 were unaccompanied alien children.

Clem tweeted that his agents apprehended 24 unaccompanied migrants just in the last week.

Since the beginning of Fiscal Year 21, which began on October 1, 2020, Yuma Sector agents apprehended 11,654 single adults, 8,183 family units, and 1,707 unaccompanied minors.

April migrant apprehension numbers are expected to be released later this week.

Brazil Police kills 27 in Anti-Drug Operation

At least 27 people, including a police officer, died in a shootout in northern Rio de Janeiro after security forces entered a favela known to be the headquarters of one of Brazil’s largest criminal groups.

Rio de Janeiro’s Civil Police corps raided on Thursday the community of Jacarezinho following an investigation by the Child and Teenager Protection Office which suggested that the Comando Vermelho gang was recruiting children to join the organization.

According to local authorities, the group operates through a war-like structure to control drugs and arms trafficking in the northern region of Rio de Janeiro.

The gang reportedly has hundreds of members equipped with military gear and armament, including rifles and grenades, which they allegedly used to repel police actions last week.

Initially, officials said the operation resulted in the killing of 25 people, but authorities confirmed on Saturday that the death toll rose to 27.

Police also revealed the names of the people killed in the operation, including 48-year-old officer André Frías.

The Jacarezinho raid has drawn extensive criticism from local NGOs and the international community as it has become the most lethal police operation in the history of the city.

Despite these public condemnations, Civil Police Chief Allan Turnowski applauded the officers’ performance, saying they showed ‘maturity’ and ‘professionalism’ as they confronted the group.

“Intelligence has already confirmed that all the dead were drug traffickers,” Turnowski said during the defunct officer's funeral.

Rio de Janeiro governor Claudio Castro also defended the operation and said criminals used weapons of war to brutally repel the police action.

"The reaction of the bandits was the most brutal recorded in recent times,” Castro said in a video statement on Friday. “Nowhere in the world are the police received with rifles and grenades when they are going to do their job.”

Brazilian justice Edson Fachin requested the General Prosecutor Office to investigate police actions as officers might have engaged in extrajudicial killings.

Fachin referred to videos recorded by favela residents shared on social media platforms to expose the excessive use of force.

Civil society groups are also pushing for an impartial investigation into the police proceedings, believing they qualify as police brutality.

44 Attorneys General Urge Mark Zuckerberg Not to Release Instagram for Kids

44 state attorneys general are urging Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg not to follow through with his company’s plan to develop a version of Instagram aimed at children under the age of 13. In a letter sent to Zuckerberg, the attorneys general note: “Further, Facebook has historically failed to protect the welfare of children on its platforms.”

“It appears that Facebook is not responding to a need, but instead creating one, as this platform appeals primarily to children who otherwise do not or would not have an Instagram account,” the attorneys general said in their bipartisan letter to Zuckerberg on Monday.

“In short, an Instagram platform for young children is harmful for myriad reasons,” they added. “The attorneys general urge Facebook to abandon its plans to launch this new platform.”

Currently, children under the age of 13 are prohibited from using Instagram entirely. Instagram even features a support page for reporting profiles of children under 13 using the platform.

The AGs also mention their concerns about the potential for increased cyberbullying, and vulnerability to online predators.

“Use of social media can be detrimental to the health and well-being of children, who are not equipped to navigate the challenges of having a social media account,” they added. “Further, Facebook has historically failed to protect the welfare of children on its platforms.”

Attorneys general from District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. territories Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, and Puerto Rico have also signed the letter.

Facebook, however, said in a statement on Monday that it plans to move forward with its plan to develop its underage Instagram, adding that it will try to work with lawmakers.

“We are developing these experiences in consultation with experts in child development, child safety and mental health, and privacy advocates,” Facebook said, according to a report by Journal-News.

“We also look forward to working with legislators and regulators, including the nation’s attorneys general,” the company added.

Facebook also insists its new version of Instagram will give parents more control over what their children — who are already online — are exposed to.

Zuckerberg is also reportedly under pressure from an international coalition of 35 children’s and consumer groups to drop its plans for the underage version of Instagram.

Cruz: HR-1 ‘a Massive Democratic Power Grab’ — ‘Number One Priority’ of Biden, Schumer, Pelosi Is to Stay in Power for a Hundred Years

Monday on FNC’s “Hannity,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) warned of the dangers of HR-1, which is legislation that would drastically change how the country conducts elections.

However, Cruz insists the legislation is inspired by Democrats, including President Joe Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), to acquire and hold power.

I’ve got to say this bill that is before the Senate, it’s S-1 or HR-1 — many of us are calling it the corrupt politicians act — is in my view the single most dangerous piece of legislation before the United States Congress.

You know, there’s kind of two buckets of what the Democrats are trying to do. One is bad policy. Things like massive new taxes, massive new spending, massive new regulations, all of those are going to hurt Americans all across the country. But there’s a second bucket that is really rigging the game, trying to change the rules so they never lose again.

And the crown jewel of the rigging the game proposals is the corrupt politicians’ act. Tomorrow in the Rules Committee in the Senate, we’re going to have a markup. I’ve got 46 amendments I’ve introduced that I’m going to force Democrats to vote on, one after the other after the other. Because you’re right, what this bill does, it’s a massive federal takeover of elections all across this country.

It strikes down almost every voter integrity law that’s ever been adopted in the states. So, for example, 29 states require voter ID. It’s a very reasonable common sense provision. The corrupt politicians’ act strikes all of those laws down. Thirty-one states prohibit vote harvesting, prohibited paid operatives collecting other people’s ballots and potentially stealing those votes. This bill strikes all of those provisions down.

This bill, the corrupt politicians’ act, would register millions of illegal aliens. It would register millions of criminals to vote because Democrats believe and I think quite reasonably that millions of illegal aliens and millions of criminals are likely to vote Democratic.

This bill turns the Federal Election Commission into a partisan weapon to fine, to prosecute, to sue Republicans. It gives Chuck Schumer a federal agency as an attack dog.

And not only that, this bill is welfare for politicians. It provides a federal match of six to one. If a candidate raises money for a campaign, the federal government matches at six to one, which would give hundreds of millions of dollars to politicians because, Sean, as you look at needy populations in America, it’s hard to think of a group more needing of federal funds than politicians. And, by the way, they can pay their own expenses out of this.

This is a — it is a massive Democratic power grab and it’s because the number one priority of Joe Biden, of Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi is to stay in power for a hundred years and to steal the rights of the voters to vote them out.

I am leading the fight against this. It is the single most dangerous thing in the Congress right now.

Twitter Tries To Dismiss Another Child Porn Case Citing Section 230: Even If Allegations ‘True,’ We’re Not ‘Liable’

Twitter is trying to dismiss a second child pornography lawsuit filed against them by an underaged vicim, citing outlined protections under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act — a controversial clause that has protected Big Tech from viewpoint discrimination and, in this case, they claim, child pornography being hosting on their platforms.

In the court filing, Twitter argued that even if “all” of the minors’ “allegations” are accepted “as true, there is no legal basis for holding Twitter liable for the Perpetrators’ despicable acts.”

Twitter was hit with a lawsuit in January alleging that a young boy who was solicited and recruited for sex trafficking, known as John Doe #1, had to endure his own sexual abuse material being promoted on Twitter, even after attempts were made to remove the content.

A second alleged victim, known as John Doe #2, later joined the federal lawsuit. “Both plaintiffs were harmed by Twitter’s distribution of material depicting their sexual abuse and trafficking, and by Twitter’s knowing refusal to remove the images of their sexual abuse (child pornography) when notified by John Doe #1 and his parents,” read a press release from the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE).

“To encourage platforms to moderate and remove offensive content without risking incurring potentially ruinous legal costs, in 1996 Congress enacted Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act (‘CDA § 230’), granting online platforms like Twitter broad immunity from legal claims arising out of the failure to remove content,” a motion to dismiss argued. “Given that Twitter’s alleged liability here rests on its failure to remove content quickly enough from its platform, dismissal of the FAC with prejudice is warranted on this ground alone.”

Section 230 of the U.S. Code states:

No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be held liable on account of any action voluntarily taken in good faith to restrict access to or availability of material that the provider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected.

Twitter noted that the company eventually “did remove the videos and suspend the accounts that had posted them,” adding, “That the offending content was not taken down immediately does not make Twitter liable under any applicable law.”

On Tuesday the CDC announced they (lied) miscalculated the dangers of the coronavirus and now claim the virus is not nearly as contagious as was once reported.

The New York Times called out the CDC for “misclassifying” the COVID transmission outdoors. The CDC said the transmission was 10% and now believe it is closer to 1% or non-existent.

The CDC lied about this figure for over a year.

But it did help them assist in getting rid of Donald Trump as president.

The CDC helped Democrats steal the 2020 election by announcing back in March 2020 that they recommend mail-in voting. This allowed several Democrat-run swing states to steal the election from Donald Trump with legislative tricks and phantom voter turnout.

Over 1,000 Illegal Aliens on French Anti-Terror Watch List

French interior minister Gerald Darmanin has revealed that there are over 1,000 illegal immigrants registered on the Terrorist Radicalisation Prevention Report Index (FSRPT), an anti-terrorism watchlist.

According to Minister Darmanin at least 1,083 illegal migrants have been registered on the FSRPT, an anti-terrorism watchlist created in 2015 which lists individuals who are thought to be religiously radicalised.

“To date, 1,083 illegal aliens are registered, but they are not necessarily in France since, of these, 587 have already been expelled from the country with a ban on return, including 200 last year. For the rest, they are either in prison, in a psychiatric hospital or awaiting deportation,” Darmanin told the newspaper Le Figaro.

Darmanin went on to add that 20 per cent of those on the FSRPT are foreigners, including 4,000 non-French with legal residency, saying: “25 per cent…. are Algerians and 20 per cent Moroccans, 15 per cent Tunisians and 12 per cent Russians.”

(Migrants described as “Russians” will include those from majority-Muslim semi-autonomous republics within the Russian Federation, such as Chechnya and Dagestan.)

In the last six months, 200 of those with residency permits who are on the list have had their residency revoked.

The number of illegal migrants on the FSPRT has increased since October of last year, when Minister Darmanin claimed that 851 illegals were on the list.

“In addition, 600 of the 1,200 foreigners released from prison since January have been expelled from the country under drug trafficking or ordinary crimes,” Darmanin said, adding: “At the request of the President of the Republic, we consider that a foreigner who has committed a serious act no longer has a place in France.”

In an effort to combat illegal immigration, Darmanin said the government would also be cracking down on those who employ illegal migrants: “We must also ask for capitalism to be patriotic and we must fight against these exploiters.”

While the number of new asylum seekers entering into France has decreased during the Wuhan virus pandemic, there remains activity along the country’s border with Italy.

Last month, for example, a pair of pro-migration activists were arrested in the commune of Montgenèvre for allegedly helping Afghan migrants cross into France.

Just a week prior, a Congolese refugee had been given a 10-month suspended sentence for helping migrants cross the Franco-Italian border illegally.

The vessel was a single tiller-driven engine “yola” approximately 25 feet in length with three people on board and appeared to contain multiple packages and barrels. The aircrew maintained surveillance of the vessel contacting a Mayaguez Marine Interceptor Unit and a UH-60M Blackhawk helicopter crew to support

AMO units recovered 24 bales of suspected narcotics from the water. A total of 618 bricks of suspected cocaine were inventoried.

The three men and the contraband were handed over to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for investigation and prosecution.

Israeli Soldiers Injure 612 Palestinians In Jerusalem

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has reported, Monday, the Israeli soldiers injured, Monday, 612 Palestinians in several parts of the occupied capital, Jerusalem, especially in and around the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, and many parts of the Old City.

The PRCS stated that at least 411 wounded Palestinians were rushed to its field clinic, in addition to the al-Makassed Hospital, Augusta Victorian Hospital, in addition to several other clinics.

It added that the soldiers invaded the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa mosque, and broke into some of the mosques in the holy compound, causing excessive damage and many injuries, especially after the army assaulted and clubbed dozens of Palestinians, including women and children.

The Israeli army and the police also assaulted dozens of Palestinians in Bab al-Amoud and abducted many of them.

Sheikh Omar al-Kiswani, the director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, said the soldiers later withdrew from the hoy site compound and added that more than 3000 Palestinians remained in the mosque and its courtyard, determined to stay there to repel further invasions by the soldiers and the colonialist settlers.

It is worth mentioning that the Red Crescent said the soldiers assaulted many medics, in addition to firing rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades at them, causing many injuries.

Iran Publicly Accuses US Government of Orchestrating Bombing That Targeted and Killed Scores of Afghan Children

85 people were killed and 147 injured — mostly children — in a ruthless bombing of the Sayed Al-Shuhada school in Kabul. The school formally educates girls.

The attackers were targeting the Hazara population, which is part of Afghanistan’s Shia Muslim minority. The latest bloodshed threatens to plunge Afghanistan into a sectarian conflict as the Biden administration begins withdrawing troops from the region.

No group has officially taken responsibility for this slaughter. The Afghan government has publicly accused the Taliban, but they have formally denied involvement. Some Arab media outlets are reporting a rumor that it was ISIS, but the group has not confirmed culpability.

A statement from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps has accused the United States, stating that the Pentagon has revived an ISIS in Afghanistan by infiltrating heavily armed “Takfiri” (a pejorative term for ISIS and Al Qaeda supporters) fighters from Syria and Iraq to provoke a civil war as the American occupation winds down.

While the Afghanistan war has been unpopular in America for years, a number of Jewish and neo-conservative think-tanks have protested against ending it because it theoretically could allow Iran to expand its geopolitical footprint in the region.

If the US leaves and the country stably transitions towards independence, Iran could potentially fill the power vacuum.

But another scenario, where the US leaves and the country spirals into civil war, could potentially destabilize Iran through a massive refugee crisis that it has been partnering with the Afghan government to prevent.

The Iranians have not released details on why they believe Washington is playing an integral role in the uptick of violence in Afghanistan. In 2019, a spokesman for the Taliban and various local government officials complained that American special forces had raided a Taliban-run prison that was holding dozens of ISIS commanders and evacuated them via helicopter to an unknown location.

Russia expels Romanian diplomat in response to Bucharest’s actions

MOSCOW, May 11. /TASS/. An employee of the Romanian Embassy in Russia has been declared persona non grata in response to the expulsion of a Russian diplomat from Bucharest, the Russian Foreign Ministry informed on Tuesday.

"On May 11, Ambassador of Romania Cristian Istrate was summoned by the Russian Foreign Ministry, where he was given a note of the ministry declaring Captain G. Iliescu, aide to the military attache at the Romanian Embassy, persona non grata. The aforementioned employee must leave the territory of the Russian Federation within 72 hours. This step was taken by the Russian side in response to the unfounded declaration of an aide to the military attache at the Russian Embassy in Bucharest persona non grata on April 26," the statement says.

Schumer: 'The big lie is spreading like a cancer' among GOP

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) offered fiery criticism of Republicans on Tuesday for efforts around the country to tighten voter laws amid unproven claims made by former President Trump that the 2020 election was stolen.

Schumer, speaking at a Senate Rules Committee meeting on a sweeping elections overhaul bill, accused Republicans of trying to act upon the "big lie that the election was stolen" to "placate" and "please" Trump.

"Unfortunately, the big lie is spreading like a cancer among Republicans. It's enveloping and consuming the Republican Party, in both houses of Congress," Schumer said.

Schumer pointed to the likely ousting of Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) as House Republican Conference chair. Frustration with Cheney has boiled over among House Republicans after she's pushed back against Trump's false claim that the election was stolen.

"Liz Cheney spoke truth to power, and for that, she’s being fired," Schumer said.

Schumer also criticized Republicans for not pushing back against state laws that add restrictions on the ability to vote.

"Every Republican in this room knows Joe Biden won the election fair and square. Every Republican knows that Donald Trump perpetrated the big lie. But the price of admission in today’s Republican Party is silence in the face of provable lies," Schumer said.

The Senate Rules Committee is set to vote on a sweeping bill to overhaul elections that has divided Congress along party lines.

The Senate standoff comes as numerous state legislatures across the country have introduced legislation to place restrictions on voting in the wake of the 2020 election, which Trump and his allies have falsely claimed was stolen. Dozens of challenges from Trump’s legal team were dismissed by the courts, however, and election experts have said there is no evidence of widespread fraud.

The Brennan Center for Justice found that as of March 24, legislatures have introduced 361 bills with “restrictive provisions” in 47 states.

"In democracy, when you lose an election, you try to persuade more voters to vote for you. You don't try to ban the other side from voting. That's what [Viktor] Orban does, that's what [Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan does, that's what dictators do," Schumer said on Tuesday, referring to the leaders of Hungary and Turkey.

He added that the state laws "carry the stench of impression, the smell of bigotry."

But Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), speaking at the Rules Committee hearing, argued that the Democratic bill was "cooked up" after the 2016 election, when Trump defeated then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Rockefeller Foundation Bankrolls COVID-19 Commission Led by Beijing Sympathizer

Jeffrey Sachs has downplayed the Uyghur genocide and criticized U.S. foreign policy

One of the largest charitable foundations in the country has contributed $300,000 to a coronavirus commission formed by a Columbia University economist who advised a Chinese government planning commission and called the United States the "greatest threat" to global peace.

The Rockefeller Foundation is one of two backers of the Lancet COVID-19 Commission, a collaboration between the British medical journal and Jeffrey Sachs, a prominent liberal economist who progressive groups pushed for a spot in the Biden administration.

The commission says its goal is to develop recommendations for fighting the virus and addressing the economic fallout from the pandemic. But the pro-Beijing views of Sachs and others involved could make it possible for China to influence the commission as it plans to advise governments and United Nations institutions.

The commission brings together some of the most significant players on the global health stage. With its $5 billion endowment, Rockefeller funds numerous global health initiatives, and Lancet is considered one of the world’s premier medical journals. Sachs maintains ties to the World Health Organization and United Nations, where he served as an adviser through 2018.

The commission also receives funding from the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, an Azerbaijan-based think tank that a Chinese ambassador has praised for its "close cooperation" with Beijing.

Sachs, who also serves as chairman of the commission, has a long history of criticizing U.S. foreign policy and defending China.

A network of advocacy groups sent a letter to Columbia University president Lee Bollinger in February accusing Sachs of downplaying China’s genocide against Uyghur Muslims and criticizing democracy movements in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Sachs had accused the United States in an interview of trying to "stir unrest" by promoting democracy protests in Hong Kong.

The groups said that Sachs’s comments were "in line with PRC state propaganda."

Sachs, who was an adviser to China’s State Development Planning Commission from 2001-2002, has appeared numerous times on China’s state-controlled media outlets to criticize the United States. He has accused conservatives of waging an "unholy crusade" against China. In 2018, he called the U.S. government the "greatest threat" to international law and global peace after officials pushed for an international investigation against Chinese tech giant Huawei.

Sachs sounded off against the United States at an event about the pandemic hosted in September by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center and the China Public Diplomacy Association, a group formed under China’s ministry of foreign affairs to promote Beijing’s soft diplomacy efforts.

"I do not believe that China is the root of the current problems; I believe that the tensions have arisen mainly from the United States side," said Sachs, who also accused conservatives of seeking a cold war with China.

The Rockefeller Foundation, which was founded by oil baron John D. Rockefeller in 1913, has a long history in China dating back to the organization’s early days. The charity created the China Medical Board in 1914 to fund medical research at universities in China.

A separate charitable foundation affiliated with the Rockefeller family, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, bankrolls multiple Chinese environmental groups with links to the Chinese Communist Party. The Rockefeller Brothers Fund also donates to the isolationist Quincy Institute, whose fellows have denied the Uyghur genocide and parroted anti-Semitic talking points.

Richard Horton, the editor of Lancet, has also developed ties to Chinese officials and its state-run media outlets.

Horton was the 2015 recipient of a friendship award from China’s State Administration of Foreign Affairs Experts, a front group for the Chinese Communist Party. He also said last year that China is owed a "debt of gratitude" for its handling of the pandemic and that former president Donald Trump committed a "crime against humanity" by threatening to pull U.S. funding for the World Health Organization.

Horton’s remarks in a May 2020 interview with CGTN, a state-controlled media outlet, were featured in an ad that the agency published on Facebook last year.

Apple Slams Georgia Election Law While Relying on Chinese Slave Labor

In April, Apple announced it would not produce a film about slavery in Georgia in light of the state's recent voting law. A month later, the tech giant was found to have relied on Chinese slave labor to build parts for its tech products.

Apple moved production of its upcoming drama Emancipation to Louisiana after star Will Smith and director Antoine Fuqua said they could not support a state that "enacts regressive voting laws that are designed to restrict voter access." But this week, The Information released a report naming seven Apple suppliers that rely on the forced labor of Uyghurs.

Apple is the latest corporation to suspend business in protest of a law that added requirements for absentee ballots. House majority whip Jim Clyburn and President Biden have referred to the law as a "new Jim Crow." But Apple's continued reliance on forced labor raises questions about the company's dedication to human rights.

According to The Information, one of Apple's suppliers is based in Xinjiang, where up to 1 million members of the Uyghur Muslim ethnic minority have been detained in "reeducation" camps. Multiple reports have detailed torture and forced sterilizations in the camps.

The report is not the first to document Apple's reliance on forced labor. In March 2020, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute found that some Apple suppliers were required to provide political indoctrination to Uyghur laborers.

Other Apple suppliers are not based in Xinjiang, but records show that workers were shipped from Xinjiang to their plants. Avary Holdings, which makes circuit boards for Apple, received 400 Xinjiang workers at one of its factories. Shenzen Deren Electronic, which makes internal cables, received 1,000 workers. According to The Information, a video produced by a fourth supplier outlines how it used forced labor in 2018 and 2019.

Apple, along with Nike and Coca-Cola, has lobbied extensively against a bill that would create stricter penalties for companies caught using forced labor. The Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act would make operating Chinese supply chains more difficult for these multinational corporations.

Apple bought the film rights to Emancipation in 2020 for $130 million. The film is based on true events featuring the subject of a famous Civil War-era photograph who displayed the web of scars on his back.

Apple has denied relying on forced labor in the past and did not respond to requests for comment.

Democrats' HR1 election bill boosted by liberal dark money group financed by foreign national

Sixteen Thirty Fund has spent nearly $2M to lobby on issues, from HR1 to DC statehood

A liberal dark money group bankrolled by a Swiss foreign national is spending big on lobbying in favor of Democrats' election overhauls, including H.R. 1, filings show.

The Sixteen Thirty Fund, a fiscal sponsor and clearinghouse for dozens of left-wing groups and projects, has poured nearly $2 million into the efforts to sway senators on issues ranging from H.R.1 to D.C. statehood to the Voting Rights Act Amendment.

H.R. 1 is the largest overhaul of the U.S. election law in at least a generation and covers many aspects of the voting process, including requiring states to automatically register eligible voters and offer same-day voter registration. The bill also requires states to offer 15 days of early voting and allows no-excuse absentee balloting, which 14 states would have to implement and the states that already allow it would have to conform to H.R. 1’s standards.

As part of the efforts, the Sixteen Thirty Fund has spent $1.3 million on internal lobbyists to push the reforms while dishing out $480,000 to outside firm Keefe Singiser Partners between 2019 and 2020, according to disclosures. Maura Keefe, the former chief of staff for Democratic New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, heads up the shop. Over the past year, the Sixteen Thirty Fund also paid $100,000 to Kountoupes Denham Carr & Reid to advocate on democracy reform and election integrity, including H.R.1.

One of the lobbyists listed on the disclosure forms for Kountoupes Denham Carr & Reid is MJ Kenny, who worked for Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., between 2010 and 2019 in multiple roles, including legislative correspondent and deputy floor director, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Israel not ready for a ceasefire – official

“There will be a ceasefire when we're ready for it,” the official added.

Israel will not negotiate a ceasefire before Hamas pays a price for its attacks, a senior Israeli official said on Tuesday.

“Hamas fired a bunch of rockets, and then of course they want a ceasefire, that's perfect for them, they don't have to pay a price for firing on Jerusalem and then 500 rockets,” the official said.

“There will be a ceasefire when we're ready for it,” he added.

The official would not confirm or deny a report on Channel 12 News that Israel declined an Egyptian offer to negotiate a ceasefire, nor that Egypt put forward an offer at all.

China has used 'army' of fake Twitter accounts to amplify message on social media platform, report

Chinese diplomats receive thousands of shares on Twitter for anti-West propaganda posts.

China's ruling Communist Party has used tens-of-thousands of fake Twitter accounts to push pro-government, anti-Western rhetoric on the social media site, according to findings of a joint analysis released Tuesday.

The analysis was conducted by the Associated Press and the Oxford Internet Institute, a department at Oxford University. It started as early as late-2019 and concluded last year. The analysis found at least 26,879 fake Twitter accounts that "liked" and shared over 200,000 post by Chinese media and diplomats before they were removed by the social media platform.

Liu Xiaoming, the former Chinese ambassador to the United Kingdom, is one of the Chinese Communist Party's best social media manipulators, according to wire service.

Since joining Twitter in 2019, Liu amassed more than 119,000 followers, many of which were really fake accounts impersonating Western people that "liked" and retweet his posts.

Liu calls the strategy "wolf warrior" diplomacy, named after a popular blockbuster movie in China.

"As I see it, there are so-called 'wolf warriors' because there are ‘wolfs’ in the world, and you need warriors to fight them," he said.

From June through February of last year, Liu's posts were retweeted 43,000 times, but roughly half of the retweets came from accounts suspended by Twitter. So far, 189 Chinese diplomats and officials have copied Liu's strategy, using thousands of fake accounts to spread Chinese rhetoric online, the analysis also found.

IDF Deploys Artillery Batteries To Gaza Border, Signalling Fighting Ramps Up

On the morning of May 11th, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) sent additional artillery batteries to the Gaza border as fighting intensifies in the Strip.

The deployment of these cannons and rocket launchers appear to indicate that the military is preparing for a potential wider conflict in the enclave.

The Israel Defense Forces said it bombed a Hamas team preparing to fire an anti-tank guided missile at Israel from the Gaza Strip.

Rocket launches continue from Gaza towards Israeli territory. Fresh rocket sirens sound as a barrage of incoming projectiles is fired toward Ashkelon and a number of communities surrounding the Gaza Strip.

Sirens are heard in Ashkelon, Nahal Oz, Sderot, Karmia, Zikim, Kfar Silver and Yad Mordechai.

At least 24 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli air raids on the besieged Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned of an open-ended operation against Hamas. In a speech, Netanyahu accused the group of crossing a “red line” with the latest rocket fire and promised a tough response.

“Whoever attacks us will pay a heavy price,” he said.

The Israeli army said a civilian in the country’s south suffered mild injuries when a vehicle was struck by an anti-tank missile from Gaza.

Abu Obeida, spokesman for Hamas’s military wing, said the attack on Jerusalem was a response to what he called Israeli “crimes and aggression” in the city. “This is a message the enemy has to understand well,” he said.

He threatened more attacks if Israeli forces re-enter the Al Aqsa Mosque compound or carry out forced expulsions of Palestinian families from an East Jerusalem neighborhood.

The United States and European Union have expressed deep concern over the unrest in East Jerusalem, urging Israel to calm the situation and not carry out the forced expulsions.

Conditional Arab allies of Israel, along with Turkey, have also condemned Israel’s actions.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took to Twitter over the weekend to air his fury in Turkish, Arabic and Hebrew. He called Israel a “cruel terrorist state” and said Muslim nations needed to take effective steps to stop the violence. Those who remained silent were “a party to the cruelty there.”

Erdogan spoke with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh to convey his support, while his foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, vowed that Turkey would continue to be the voice “of our Palestinian brothers and sisters and defend their rights.”

Erdogan’s communications director, Fahrettin Altun, also commented on the developments:

“To the Islamic world, we say: It’s time to stop Israel’s heinous and cruel attacks! To humanity we say: It’s time to put this apartheid state in its place.”

Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt and other Arab nations also denounced Israel’s actions, in very mild language.

20 governors demand that Biden end the border crisis

Following the reports of historic immigration numbers, governors from Arizona to New Hampshire wrote a letter Tuesday calling on President Biden and Vice President Harris “to take action on the crisis at the southern border immediately.” In total, 20 governors signed the plea to the administration.

The border saw a 20-year monthly high in total immigration, with 172,000 encounters in March alone, and an all-time monthly high in child immigration with 18,890 unaccompanied children encounters. While Biden has claimed that this is the season for high immigration numbers, these governors write it “is entirely due to reckless federal policy reversals executed within your first 100 days in office.”

Even Mexican President Andrés Manuel López puts the blame on Biden. He has said that migrants see Biden as “the migrant president.”

Many of these governors aren’t from border states, but felt the need to tell the Biden administration they won’t be helping with the “heartbreaking” situation. “Recently, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services called upon many of our states to identify potential housing locations for migrants,” the letter read. But, the governors responded, “we have neither the resources nor the obligation to solve the federal government’s problem and foot the bill for the consequences of this Administration’s misguided actions.”

Governors are also calling for action because the crisis has “threatened the safety of American citizens.” The letter cites a report from Customs and Border Protection, that showed a 233% increase in the seizure of fentanyl since January 2020.

Of all 19 governors, Utah Governor Cox will be meeting with Biden Tuesday. The purpose of their meeting is to discuss vaccination rates.

The Israel Narrative Is Crumbling

“Twenty-four people, including nine children, were killed in Gaza overnight, most of them in Israeli strikes,” AP reported Tuesday.

Nine children, killed with the help of United States funding to the tune of $3.8 billion a year.

Remember kids, the U.S. loves Muslims and just wants to protect their human rights.

The Monday night airstrikes were in response to rocket attacks by Gaza resistance groups which had reportedly injured six Israelis, and those rocket attacks were in turn were a response to a deluge of Israeli police brutality footage in Jerusalem in preceding days. Electronic Intifada reports:

When the deadline passed, resistance groups in Gaza fired volleys of rockets towards Jerusalem for the first time since the summer 2014 war, prompting celebrations from some Palestinians.”

The mass media are working furiously to spin this in a way that rivals my satire piece from the other day. The New York Times has been cartoonishly re-writing its own reporting in a desperate attempt to make Israel look like an innocent victim of unprovoked attacks instead of the obvious aggressor against people protesting a brutal apartheid regime backed by an entire empire.

The New York Post falsely reported that the deaths on Monday were caused by “Airstrikes from Hamas militants” (when did Hamas get an air force?) when sharing an article which falsely implied that those fatalities were inflicted by both sides. DW News framed its headline in a way that suggested the nine children killed had been involved in “fighting” against Israeli forces, and the word “clashes” is being thrown about willy nilly to describe a very one-sided assault. But it isn’t working.

Israelis were filmed celebrating Monday night on Jerusalem Day at the Western Wall by singing for God to "take vengeance on the Palestinians" and "erase" them and their "progeny" from all of history.

"Today's Jerusalem Day march ends in an orgy of hate at the Western Wall," Elizabeth Tsurkov reported. "They sing: 'Remember me! Strengthen me! Just this once, God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Palestinians (may their progeny be erased!) for my two eyes!' (altering Judges 16:28)."

Two weeks ago, bands of Jewish extremists, including some settlers from the West Bank, marched through Palestinian-populated areas of the holy city, chanting “Death to Arabs,” attacking bystanders and damaging Palestinian property and homes. Israeli attempts to evict a number of Palestinian families in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah — a microcosm of what Palestinians view as part of a long history of dispossession and erasure at the hands of the Israeli state — had stirred Palestinian solidarity protests in various parts of the occupied territories and Israel proper.

It also raised tensions ahead of the commemoration of Jerusalem Day on Monday, an official Israeli holiday celebrating the capture of the city during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War. Fauci Must Be Held to Account for His Role in Funding Wuhan Lab Research

Did the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the U.S. government recklessly outsource research to a laboratory in Wuhan from which the coronavirus responsible for the pandemic originated? It’s an important and compelling question because the research in question focused on the specific kind of bat virus that somehow got transferred to humans.

The money was part of an NIH grant given to a company called EcoHealth Alliance. They, in turn, gave the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory $76,000 to study BLS-4 novel coronaviruses. The deal included a transfer of the bulk of the collection of coronavirus samples from bats to the Wuhan institute.

What the Wuhan lab did with those samples is what’s at issue. We know that the lab engaged in recombinant research into diseases of bats and humans, as well as experiments in infecting mice engineered with human traits with bat viruses. Despite numerous warnings about safety at the lab, the U.S. government continued to fund research in Wuhan.

Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases signed off on all this research, as did the NIH. But the mainstream media, who have lionized Fauci and made him into a celebrity, won’t touch this story. And the dismissive attitude of the press toward the idea that COVID-19 leaked from that Wuhan lab shows why getting to the bottom of where and how the coronavirus originated will be so difficult.

According to a blockbuster piece in New York magazine, one of the first outlets to take the lab leak hypothesis seriously, EcoHealth Alliance ‘has channeled money from the National Institutes of Health to Shi Zhengli’s laboratory in Wuhan, allowing the lab to carry on recombinant research into diseases of bats and humans’.

Dr Shi Zhengli is a notable expert in bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute. She had been studying the effects of bat viruses on humans when ‘in 2012, six men set to work shoveling bat guano were sickened by a severe lung disease, three of them fatally. Shi’s team took the samples back to Wuhan and analyzed whatever fragments of bat virus she could find. In some cases, when she found a sequence that seemed particularly significant, she experimented with it in order to understand how it might potentially infect humans. Some of her work was funded by the National Institutes of Health and some of it by the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency of the Department of Defense via Peter Daszak’s EcoHealth Alliance.’

Those safety issues in Wuhan should be one of the first targets of any congressional investigation. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know when Dr. Fauci became aware of the serious safety issues at the lab and what, if anything, he did about it?

Democrats will never look into the lab leak hypothesis for the simple reason that Donald Trump and his administration were pushing it. Anything that proves Trump right is not allowed. The media will also deny that any leak from the Wuhan lab occurred — accidental or otherwise — for the same reason. Anyone who broaches the subject will be branded a conspiracy nut and promptly dismissed.

But the issue won’t go away and Dr. Fauci is eventually going to have to answer questions about his role in funding dangerous research being conducted at a Chinese lab staffed by inexperienced technicians working with unknown viruses.

According to The New York Post — Nationally, preliminary numbers indicated that 26 percent of Trump’s voting share came from nonwhite voters — the highest percentage for a GOP presidential candidate since 1960.

And President Trump made “sizeable” gains with large populations of Latinos and residents of Asian descent, including ones with the highest numbers of immigrants.

Newly released data from the Catalist confirms Trump won more women and voters of color in 2020 than he did in 2016.

The share of Trump voters who were women or people of color in last year’s election was 57.2%, up from 54.8% in 2016… The former president also increased his support among all racial demographics in 2020, with the exception of white men, making a 7-point gain among nonwhite women, a 4-point gain with nonwhite men, a 1-point gain with white women, and a 1-point loss among white men. …

Black voter support also saw a substantial increase in last year’s election, with the group swinging 3 points toward Trump compared to 2016. Along with massive increases in turnout, Latino vote share as a whole swung towards Trump by 8 points in two-way vote share compared to 2016, though Biden-Harris still enjoyed solid majority (61%) support among this group,” Catalist wrote in its analysis of the data.

Any honest mathematician would look at these numbers and realize the obvious.

Democrats stole the 2020 election.

There is absolutely no doubt that President Trump won this election in a landslide.

The 2020 election audit in Maricopa County, Arizona continues as Democrats and the liberal media struggle to try to discredit the efforts of the Arizona Senate Republicans and the Cyber Ninjas auditing team. Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, whose team is now monitoring the audit, has shown blatant bias, tweeting out the hashtag #fraudit. The Maricopa Arizona Audit official Twitter account told Hobbs to stop “attempting to disrupt the audit process.”

Hobbs’ anti-audit agitation is a stark contrast to the tone set by former Arizona Secretary of State Ken Bennett, who announced at a recent press conference that the audit is going as planned. “This is about wrong and right, and we want to be on the side of right,” Bennett stated, remarking, “We’re going to be able to tell every Arizonan in a few weeks that they have complete trust and integrity in their elections, or we have some parts of the election that needs to be improved.” The Arizona audit has already yielded goods, with Maricopa County admitting to the auditors that their machines did not have an administrative-functions password.

The audit team was thrown for a loop when the judge presiding over the case, who appeared to be impartial, recused himself and was replaced by a different judge who is tied to one of the biggest Democrat-connected law firms in the country. NATIONAL FILE REPORTED:

Meanwhile, Judge Daniel Martin worked at Brown & Bain, which merged with Perkins Coie.

Twitter, Facebook Refuse to Remove Army of Chinese Propaganda Bots, Oxford Researchers Reveal.

Platforms including Twitter and Facebook are failing to suspend and label thousands of bot accounts linked to the Chinese Communist Party, according to a new investigation conducted by the Associated Press and the Oxford Internet Institute.

“A seven-month investigation by the Associated Press and the Oxford Internet Institute, a department at Oxford University, found that China’s rise on Twitter has been powered by an army of fake accounts that have retweeted Chinese diplomats and state media tens of thousands of times, covertly amplifying propaganda that can reach hundreds of millions of people — often without disclosing the fact that the content is government-sponsored,” the outlet summarizes.

The new report highlights how Twitter – a platform that’s quick to censor American conservatives – is slow to tackle Chinese Communist Party propaganda and manipulation of algorithms. “Twitter’s takedowns often came only after weeks or months of activity. All told, AP and the Oxford Internet Institute identified 26,879 accounts that managed to retweet Chinese diplomats or state media nearly 200,000 times before getting suspended. They accounted for a significant share – sometimes more than half — of the total retweets many diplomatic accounts got on Twitter,” the report noted.

Hamas has announced that it launched 130 rockets on Tel Aviv and central Israel through its TV channels moments ago. While it's unclear if this is exaggerated, rockets appear to be landing across Israel, many slipping through the Iron Dome anti-air defenses.

This after Israeli airstrikes took out an entire 13-story residential building, which collapsed in on itself after multiple explosions and direct hits.
