12/05/2021

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the federal election could be as early as December following from last night’s budget.

“I think the election could be in December, March, April or May. He’s (Scott Morrison) not ruling it out this year but he doesn’t even know because he doesn’t know how the vaccinations are going to go,” Mr Clennell said.

Mr Clennell predicted Mr Morrison will gain a slight majority at this point in time.

Pfizer found to be 100 per cent effective in children aged 12 to 15

11/05/2021

President of the Telethon Kids Institute Jonathan Carapetis says studies found the Pfizer vaccine was 100 per cent effective in children aged between 12 and 15 years of age.

This comes as the FDA gave emergency approval for the jab to be administered to Americans between the ages of 12 and 15.

“The studies in kids don’t have to be quite as big as the studies in adults because we know so much about how this vaccine works,” Mr Carapetis said.

“So, this pivotal study that they did in 12 to 15 year-olds was a bit over 2,000, 2,200 12 to 15 year-olds and they found that only the children who received the placebo vaccine got COVID.

“There was zero in those who got the Pfizer vaccine, 100 per cent effective, no significant safety issues and really importantly a very good antibody response in the blood”.

Mr Carapetis told Sky News it would take “a bit longer” for Australia to authorise the vaccine for 12 to 15-year-olds because there was not the same level of urgency as in the United States.

Victoria records no new locally acquired cases

12/05/2021

Victoria has recorded no new locally acquired coronavirus cases despite the positive case which was reported in the state on Tuesday.

The man in his 30s returned to Australia from India via Singapore and the Maldives in late April and undertook two weeks of hotel quarantine in South Australia.

Health authorities believe the man contracted COVID while he was in quarantine despite testing negative at three stages during his stay because someone in the room adjacent had tested positive to the virus.

The question remains as to how the virus was able to escape the room or whether the two people somehow came into contact.

The man flew home to Victoria on May 4, began displaying symptoms of COVID on May 8 and had a COVID test on May 10.

People arriving in Sydney from the Greater Melbourne area will have to complete a declaration form from today confirming they have not attended any potential exposure sites in the previous 14 days.

Bill Gates' relationship with Epstein may have triggered divorce

10/05/2021

Melinda Gates was reportedly concerned about Bill Gates’ relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein years before the pair announced they were separating.

The two announced their decision to end their marriage last week in a joint statement after 27 years but offered no public reason for the separation.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Ms Gates consulted lawyers at multiple firms about divorce since at least 2019.

Ms Gates and her advisers conducted a “number of calls” in October 2019, the journal said, around the time the New York Times revealed Mr Gates had met with Epstein on “numerous occasions”.

Ms Gates had concerns about her husband’s relationship with Epstein as far back as 2013, according to the journal.

"Madam Speaker, that's not Willie Mays,” wrote Sean Spicer.

“Cause all black people look the same?,” said Fox News Contributor Deneen Borelli.
