I haven't been on 4chan in a long time. My guess is the thread post count never reached a certain number (like we use 751 posts/bread), or 4chan never locks their threads. I'm positive an anon who has more experience posting on multiple image boards would answer this very quickly if I'm wrong.
Never really like 4chan. 8chan and 8kun is where I've spent 99% of my time. I didn't start following Q until February 2018.
