Doesn't look like a joint to me. The bolted on plate was more rigid than the rest of the beam,
and the flexing caused that "crack" point to flex under traffic.

Still not seeing it. If this is a fatigue break then the flexing would only be up and down,
hence the straight break across the top of the beam, but the break along the side
would be at an angle (and note that it appears to be two angles) as the break propagates.
