Blinken claims the US delayed the meeting to find time for 'diplomacy,' but Israel has rejected Hamas' truce offer and is intensifying airstrikes

After blocking two statements at the UN Security Council on the ongoing Israeli violence against Palestinians, the US objected to a planned meeting on the Israeli bombing campaign in Gaza that was to be held publicly on Friday.

The US suggested that the meeting should be held next Tuesday, but after a compromise, the Security Council agreed to discuss the matter on Sunday. When asked about the delay, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he hopes pushing the meeting back would “give some time for the diplomacy.”

“We are open to and supportive of a discussion, an open discussion at the United Nations. I think we’re looking at early next week,” Blinken said at a press conference. “This, I hope, will give some time for the diplomacy to have some effect and to see if, indeed, we get a real de-escalation and can then pursue this at the United Nations in that context.”

The issue with Blinken’s reasoning is that the Israelis show no sign of seeking a de-escalation. On Wednesday night, Israel rejected a truce offer from Hamas and chose to intensify airstrikes indefinitely. Bombs pounded Gaza throughout Thursday. Over 100 Palestinians have been killed so far, including dozens of children.

Nearly 800 Barges Stuck In Lower Mississippi River From Bridge Crack

Earlier this week, in a routine bridge inspection, an engineer climbed onto the section of the Interstate 40 bridge over the Mississippi River and spotted a massive fracture in the frame that resulted in the immediate shutdown of the bridge on Wednesday. Traffic is being rerouted to Interstate 55 Memphis & Arkansas Bridge, creating traffic jams in the Memphis area. On the Mississippi River, the situation is much worse. Hundreds of barrages are piling up on either side of the bridge as the US Coast Guard has closed the critical waterway.

After a routine inspection, officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announced that the Hernando de Soto Bridge would be closed due to a crack on the bottom side of the bridge truss.

While road traffic is chaotic in the Memphis metro area, a much larger and possibly underreported story is the closure of the lower Mississippi River that is a critical waterway for the transportation of farm goods.

Reuters reports as of Thursday, the logjam of barrages swelled to 771. Coast guard officials closed the waterway Wednesday, preventing any vessel from passing underneath the bridge.

"At the spot where the river is closed, 26 vessels with 430 barges are waiting to pass north, and 21 vessels with 341 barges are in the queue to go south, said Petty Officer Carlos Galarza," a Coast Guard spokesman told Reuters.

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, who have been stalling, blocking, refusing requests from the Senate and audit team for months accused Senator Fann of “reckless allegations” that are causing “confusion and agitation” at the State Legislature.

Chairman Sellers added that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors may seek legal advice.

They need to. If they deleted databases or Dominion deleted databases on the voting machines after a subpoena and just days before the machines were turned over — They will all need to seek legal advice.

Cybersecurity tycoon Kaspersky claims CIA hackers could actually be behind US Colonial Pipeline attack blamed on Russian group

A cyberattack that crippled fuel supplies on the East Coast of the US and sent gas prices soaring could have been an inside job conducted by American spooks, rather than foreign hackers, a prominent Russian IT expert has claimed.

After a massive systems failure caused the Colonial Pipeline to shut down, Natalya Kaspersky, the founder and former CEO of security software firm Kaspersky Lab, as well as one of Russia’s wealthiest women, made the explosive suggestions in an interview with RIA Novosti on Friday. She alleges that the US’ top foreign intelligence agency, the CIA, has a crack team of digital warriors who are able to masquerade as overseas hacking groups.

According to her, the group, known as UMBRAGE, is adept at hiding its online footprints. The existence of the team first came to light in a series of documents published by WikiLeaks in 2017 and subsequently picked up by American media. At the time, USA Today said that the shadowy operatives “may have been cataloguing hacking methods from outside hackers, including in Russia, that would have allowed the agency to mask their identity by employing the method during espionage.”

On Thursday, President Joe Biden announced that the devastating blow to America’s infrastructure had been dealt from abroad. “We do not believe the Russian government was involved in this attack, but we do have strong reason to believe that the criminals who did the attack are living in Russia, that’s where it came from,” he said.

However, Kaspersky pointed to the list “of the countries under whose hacker groups this UMBRAGE is disguised – Russia, North Korea, China, Iran.” She claimed that “therefore, it cannot be said with certainty that the attack was carried out by a hacker group from Russia, and that it was not a provocation made themselves from there, or from some other country,” she said.

The day before, the operators of the Colonial Pipeline said that service had resumed, and that “we can now report that we have restarted our entire pipeline system and that product delivery has commenced to all markets we serve.” However, they added, it could take several days before gas supply issues were fully resolved.

Gov. Cuomo declares New York is not ready to follow the science and implement the new CDC mask guidelines

Americans celebrated the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's new mask guidelines announcement Thursday that said vaccinated people can return to life without masks.

Except New Yorkers.

Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared shortly after the CDC unveiled its new mask policies that the Empire State would not be following the experts' guidance on face masks — at least not yet.

What's going on?

In a Thursday afternoon declaration, the CDC deigned to allow fully vaccinated Americans to return to mask-less, non-socially distanced life.

"Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing," CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said. "If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic. We have all longed for this moment, when we can get back to some sense of normalcy."

But Gov. Cuomo wasn't sold on the federal government's science experts' recommendation, the New York Post reported, and had not decided if he would allow his subjects to enjoy normal life.

In a statement issued shortly after the agency's announcement, Cuomo said he and his state government, including Health Commissioner Howard Zucker, would be following "the facts and the science" and would be reviewing the CDC guidelines.

"In New York, we have always relied on the facts and the science to guide us throughout the worst of this pandemic and in our successful reopening," Cuomo said. "We have received the newly revised guidance from the CDC regarding mask wearing and social distancing for those with vaccinations and are reviewing them in consultation with Dr. Zucker and our partners and health experts in surrounding states."

Current New York rules state that fully vaccinated people can go without masks when they are outdoors — except when in crowded areas — but must remained mask indoors, no matter what.

What did one GOP state lawmaker say?

One New York Republican lawmaker, however, was quick to note that Cuomo's record with nursing home COVID-19 deaths should lead people to listen to the CDC instead of the state's leadership.

State Sen. Jim Tedisco (R) said that "our best bet as constituents is to always follow the CDC because we've seen what the 'experts' in New York state have provided," the Post reported.

"I don't think anything this governor says about using experts in New York state is true," Tedisco added. "He's working with people who are basically like working with Moe, Larry and Curly. I'd follow the CDC guidelines any time before following what the governor says."

Ken Bennett: No, not the entire database. There was a directory among the information that they had sent over to the Senate that appears to have been deleted. And the reason they knew that is that there were references to that directory in some of the other databases that were sent. So it’s not the entire database, no don’t misunderstand that…

Jordan: But it was the results tally and reporting, correct?

Bennett: It would have included that, yes.

Jordan: So has Maricopa County responded to the letter?

Bennett: Not to my knowledge. I think President Fann asked them to have representatives come and answer some of those questions at a hearing at The Senate next week and so I hope they do that and help provide some answers.

Jordan: Do you know if this information was deleted before or after the subpoena?

Bennett: I don’t know.

Jordan: Can you tell us about the other issues you’ve seen with the ballot chain of custody and anomalies in the organization?

Bennett: Well we still don’t have the chain of custody documents that the county must have kept between when the ballots were put in the warehouse after the November election to when they were delivered to us on April 22nd. We know that one of the county officials tweeted out a photo of some of the ballot pallets being loaded into the back of a truck as though they were ready to deliver them to the Senate. And so we would like to see if their chain of custody documents between November and April include movement of the ballots like that. We have complete chain of custody from the day that they brought the ballots to us, while we’ve been holding the ballots. But we’re still looking for the chain of custody documentation between the election and April.

‘Go back to England’: Prince Harry angers Americans after calling First Amendment ‘bonkers’

Prince Harry sparked yet another controversy this week after he criticized the United States’ constitutional right to free speech, the First Amendment.

During a Thursday appearance on Hollywood actor Dax Shepard’s ‘Armchair Expert’ podcast, the prince – who now lives in California after stepping down from his royal duties – said, “I’ve got so much I want to say about the First Amendment. I still don’t understand it, but it is bonkers.”

The comment angered many Americans who questioned why Prince Harry was living in the United States if he didn’t appreciate and respect its Constitution.

“Yeah we know he doesn’t get it, his family is the reason it exists,” remarked one American social media user, while another advised the prince to take “a lesson on American history,” pointing out that the American Revolution took place in order “to rid ourselves of the British and get our freedom.”

Others were more direct, telling Prince Harry to “go back to England.”

Prince Harry’s comments even made their way to Republican Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw, who quipped, “I just doubled the size of my Independence Day party.”

Ironically, during the same show appearance, Prince Harry criticized podcast host Joe Rogan for speaking without thinking after Rogan sparked controversy by arguing that young, healthy people don’t need to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

The prince warned that “in today’s world, with misinformation just endemic,” people have “got to be careful about what comes out of your mouth.” Singling Rogan out by name, he said celebrities should just “stay out of it” and not say anything at all if they don’t have anything useful to say.

Prince Harry has become a controversial figure since stepping down from his royal duties with his wife Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex last year.

Since their departure from royal life, the couple have relocated to California and signed multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify, launched their own podcast, and controversially taken shots at the royal family in a television interview with Oprah Winfrey – angering Brits and Americans alike.

Navarro’s 9 “Indisputable” Facts Linking Fauci to COVID-19 Origin.

Is Dr. Anthony Fauci the father of the Wuhan virus? If that virus escaped from the Wuhan virology lab, it’s the most ironic yes in all of American history.

Under the auspices of a nearly $3.7 million grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) – “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence” – 30 studies have been published since 2014. Over half of these studies count authors from Chinese Communist Party-run scientific organizations, and in 13 cases, the authors come from the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

What’s more, the studies themselves describe the grant money as going to both EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak and Shi Zhengli, Director of the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases.

For example, one study on the “Isolation and Characterization of a Novel Bat Coronavirus” notes that “National Institutes of Health (NIH) provided funding to Peter Daszak and Zheng-Li Shi under grant number NIAID R01AI110964.” There are seven other instances where U.S. taxpayer dollars from the NIH have been described as funding research conducted by Shi Zhengli. THREE, Fauci, together with NIH Director Francis Collins, went behind the back of the Trump White House in December 2017 to overturn a 2014 Obama Administration decision to ban the use of “gain of function” tools to increase the lethality of viruses – Australian journalist Sharri Markson has revealed Fauci used a “low level” White House meeting to fly below the radar.

FOUR, before the pandemic hit, Peter Daszak bragged in a TV interview about how simple it was to use gain of function at the Wuhan lab to make viruses more deadly.

EIGHT, Fauci’s NIH helped fund the research of Ralph Barric from the University of North Carolina who used gain of function techniques with China’s infamous “Bat Lady,” Wuhan Lab virologist Shi Zhengli; and NINE, numerous experts have now agree that SARS-COV-2 most likely originated from the Wuhan lab. Tara Reade, the former Senate aide who accused Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her almost 30 years ago, told RT’s Rick Sanchez that media protection enables the Democratic elite to commit sexual assaults and get off scot-free.

Tara Reade, 57, worked for the current US president in the early 1990s, when she claims he sexually assaulted her in Congress. She went public with the accusation during the 2020 presidential race.

In her interview with RT America, Ms. Reade recalls that when she first came forward in 1993, she went through office protocol, and tried to get help but couldn’t. “I was threatened and told to be silent. It affected my career; I lost my career because I came forward,” she says.

Ms. Reade believes that those who belong to the establishment can “rape and pillage like a Roman senator” most of the time with impunity, because they have the money and protection of the media elites. “Money buys biased public relations machines and those machines are feeding corporate media,” she explained. She pointed out that regular people usually can’t get away with sexual misconduct, and that she felt the hypocrisy of the situation was stunning.

Ms. Reade’s accusations come in the wake of the ongoing #MeToo campaign against sexual harassment and abuse. The campaign started in Hollywood in October 2017, when dozens of women came forward accusing film executive Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment, abuse, or rape. The movement then spread around the world and involved many famous names from the film and music industries, politics, and sport.

Still, Ms. Reade believes that everyone should be held equally accountable for wrongdoing. “Powerful politicians have ways of covering their misconduct, it’s a culture, it’s ingrained in our culture,” she says.

Toshiba Unit Hacked by DarkSide, Conglomerate to Undergo Strategic Review

TOKYO/PARIS—A Toshiba Corp unit said it was hacked by the DarkSide ransomware group, overshadowing an announcement of a strategic review for the Japanese conglomerate under pressure from activist shareholders to seek out suitors.

Toshiba Tec Corp, which makes products such as bar code printers and is valued at $2.3 billion, was hacked by DarkSide—the group widely believed to be behind the recent Colonial Pipeline attack, its French subsidiary said.

It added, however, that only a minimal amount of work data had been lost.

“There are around 30 groups within DarkSide that are attempting to hack companies all the time, and they succeeded this time with Toshiba,” said Takashi Yoshikawa, a senior malware analyst at Mitsui Bussan Secure Directions.

Employees accessing company computer systems from home during pandemic lockdowns have made firms more vulnerable to cyber attacks, he added.

Screenshots of DarkSide’s post provided by the cybersecurity firm said more than 740 gigabytes of information was compromised and included passports and other personal information.

Reuters could not access DarkSide’s public-facing website on Friday. Security researchers said DarkSide’s multiple websites had stopped being accessible.

Ransomware attacks have increased in number and amount of demands, with hackers encrypting data and seeking payment in cryptocurrency to unlock it. They increasingly release stolen data as well, or threaten to unless they are paid more.

Ireland’s health service said on Friday it had shut down its IT systems after what it described as a “significant” ransomware attack.

Investigators in the U.S’s Colonial case say the attack software was distributed by DarkSide, which includes Russian speakers and avoids hacking targets in the former Soviet Union. DarkSide lets “affiliates” hack into targets elsewhere, then handles the ransom negotiation and data release.

Strategic Review

Amid calls from shareholders to explicitly seek offers from potential suitors after dismissing a $20 billion take-private bid from CVC Capital this year, Toshiba said it was setting up a strategic review committee and had appointed UBS as financial adviser.

The review will be conducted by independent directors and is designed to help the board consider a new business plan to be put forward by management by October.

Biao He, together with Changjun Wang of the Third Military Medical University, played a key role in the isolation of bat coronaviruses ZC45 and ZXC21, claimed by Chinese whistleblower Dr. Li-Meng Yan to be the viral backbones for COVID-19.

We have established a direct connection between the Chinese military’s Changchun research centers in Jilin Province and the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston.

UTMB is a major virus research center heavily funded by the National Institutes of Health, especially Dr. Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

UTMB is also the home of the Department of Defense-funded Center for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases and has one of the few Biosafety Level 4 facilities for containing and conducting research on the world’s most dangerous viruses.

The key connection between UTMB and the Chinese military’s Changchun research centers in Jilin Province is Pei-Yong Shi. He was trained in the People’s Republic of China and now is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at UTMB.

Pei-Yong Shi has also been an Honorary Professor at the Wuhan Institute of Virology since 2007 and received more than $5 million in research funding from Fauci’s NIAID.

“Swalwell confronted Dyer, got in his face and according to Dyer, said: ‘You don’t tell me what to f**king do!'” Wong continued.

Swalwell appeared to confirm Dyer’s version of events, however, sharing Wong’s tweet and adding, “I had a mask on as I stepped off the Floor. An aide with @mtgreenee yelled at me to take my mask off. No one should be bullied for wearing a mask. So I told the bully what I thought of his order. Predictably, he went speechless. I regret I wasn’t more explicit.”

Following a reversal in guidance from the CDC and then from President Joe Biden – which said that fully vaccinated people should not be required to wear masks indoors or outside — Republicans have petitioned House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to lift the mask requirement on the House floor.

Thus far, Pelosi has said that the mask rule will remain in place.

Nancy Pelosi Will Force Vaccinated Members to Wear Masks on House Floor Despite CDC Guidelines

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will force vaccinated House members to wear masks on the House floor despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) new guidelines.

“No,” Pelosi replied. “Are they all vaccinated?” she retorted when asked if she would change the rule requiring masks on the floor.

However, 33 House Republicans signed a letter asking Pelosi to normalize voting procedures and return to maskless House requirements Thursday, the Daily Caller reported.

“Speaker Pelosi, In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance released on May 13, 2021 we urge you to immediately return to normal voting procedures and end mandatory mask requirements in the House of Representatives,” Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH) wrote in the letter.

The CDC decided Thursday to lifted mask mandates for fully vaccinated Americans. “Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities large or small without wearing a mask or physical distancing,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky announced. “This is an exciting and powerful moment.”

But Walensky provided a caution to unvaccinated people, asserting they should continue masking and social distancing until they are fully vaccinated.

“You remain at risk of mild or severe illness, of death, or of spreading the disease to others,” she said. “You should still mask, and you should get vaccinated right away.”

President Joe Biden’s Twitter account spun a rule after the news Thursday to either “get vaccinated or wear a mask until you do.”

Criminal Alien Arrests at U.S. Border Exceeds 6K in 2021

As Border Patrol struggles with the surge of migrants this year, a law enforcement source informs Breitbart Texas that more 6,000 migrants with serious criminal records were apprehended since the new fiscal year beginning October 1, 2020. One thousand of those were apprehended in the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas alone.

The term “criminal alien” is not used by the Border Patrol to refer to migrants with only immigration violations. It is reserved for those with criminal convictions for state and federal crimes like murder, rape, sexual assault, burglary, robbery, narcotics, and more.

The source reports that within this total, nearly 700 had convictions for assault and battery; 34 were convicted of homicide; nearly 500 for burglary-related offenses; and more than 300 convicted of sexual offenses.

Most of these individuals are returning to the United States illegally after deportations.

On May 10, Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector arrested an Ecuadoran national convicted for the rape of a minor in New York. A day later, agents in McAllen, Texas, arrested a Salvadoran national who readily admitted to serving seven years for murder and aggravated theft in his home country.

CBP further reports, during Fiscal Year 2020, San Diego agents arrested 25 sex offenders. This year, 25 were arrested in the sector during the first five months–putting them on pace to double the statistic. The San Diego Sector began tracking the annual apprehension of sex offenders in 2019.

Although only a small percentage of migrants illegally entering the country have criminal backgrounds, the source is concerned that many are eluding apprehension. As Border Patrol struggles to process and provide humanitarian care for the latest border surge, fewer agents are on normal duties.

The number of migrants avoiding apprehension by the Border Patrol exceeded 200,000 during the last seven months. The most noticeable increases began in January.

Commanding General at Fort Campbell Issues New Guidelines – Unvaccinated Soldiers Cannot Take Pass or Leave Base – Considered Non-Deployable

Recently, Commanding General MG JP McGee issued new guidelines for unvaccinated soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division during a virtual town hall Tuesday night.

As of today, unvaccinated soldiers can not take a pass and can not take Leave (which is earned from time served). And, according to our source, unvaccinated soldiers are now considered non-deployable.

Previous to this, there was a 20 mile restriction on pass and leave policy. From our source, “This is essentially taking any choice away from soldiers who have sworn an oath to protect and defend this great country. Absolutely embarrassing how they handle something like this.”

In a livestreamed town hall event, Maj. Gen. McGee announced that soldiers choosing to remain unvaccinated should not “not consider things business as usual,” when making travel plans this summer.

“It would be irresponsible of me to allow soldiers to travel unvaccinated throughout the United States and bring that back and have an impact on our soldiers, their families and our overall operational readiness. I’m sure that’s not gonna be a popular decision for some, and that’s quite alright,” McGee said.

McGee said he and his staff are considering a range of options, including limited range of travel and increased reporting requirements for soldiers; however, no final decisions have been made as to restrictions.

Soldiers who are fully vaccinated should expect more freedom of travel, according to McGee’s update.

Facebook, Social Media Giants Admit to Silencing Palestinian Voices Online

Social media companies including Facebook have admitted to MintPress that pro-Palestinian posts were removed, blaming “technical bugs” and “spam filters.”

OCCUPIED EAST JERUSALEM — In a video posted on activist organization Jewish Voice for Peace’s Twitter account, Muna El-Kurd explained why social media is so vital for the Palestinian cause.

“We rely on the honorable people standing in solidarity with us, people who tweet #SaveSheikhJarrah everyday,” Muna El-Kurd said. “Even a short tweet or post is a treasure.”

El-Kurd and her family are under threat of forcible displacement by Israel settlers and Israeli government forces from their home in Sheikh Jarrah, a neighborhood in Occupied East Jerusalem. Over the past week, Palestinians on the ground have documented both Israeli police brutality and settler violence.

In response, the world rallied behind Palestinian home defenders online by sharing information related to Sheikh Jarrah, al-Aqsa Mosque, and Israel’s ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestine. However, activists claim their content was met with censorship from the very platforms with which they’re engaging.

Instagram disabled Muna El-Kurd’s account last week and her brother, Mohammed El-Kurd, had several of his Instagram stories removed and was threatened with account deletion.

A flurry of content removal and banning

Activists reported that social media companies have been removing their content, stating it violated community guidelines or deeming it “hate speech.” Reports also included suspended and deactivated accounts and text-only content labeled “sensitive,” a designation usually reserved for photos and videos containing violence, gore or derogatory images. The “Save Sheikh Jarrah” Facebook group was also deactivated, according to Mohammed El-Kurd.

Reports were largely centered on Instagram and Twitter, with some restrictive behaviors conducted by Facebook and even TikTok.

Oregon Dem Quietly Scrubs Ties to Political Ally Nabbed in Sex Trafficking Sting

Former Dem state legislator arranged 'payment for sexual acts' on human trafficking site

Oregon Democratic congressman Kurt Schrader quietly deleted online posts linking him to a longtime political ally who was arrested during an undercover sex trafficking sting operation.

Portland police in April arrested former Democratic state house speaker Dave Hunt for commercial sexual solicitation. Hunt—a Schrader campaign donor who has held joint events with the congressman—allegedly responded to an ad placed by police on a human trafficking site "to arrange payment for sexual acts." Law enforcement later detained him at a local Ramada Inn.

Schrader is yet to respond to the arrest and has instead made discreet attempts to remove the online trail tying him to Hunt. The Democratic congressman removed Hunt's endorsement from his campaign site at some point between April 19 and May 4, according to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. On May 3, his campaign's Twitter account deleted a year-old tweet thanking Hunt "for the endorsement and your continued leadership in Oregon." Schrader also removed a 2013 photo taken with Hunt from his Facebook page.

Schrader and Hunt have supported one another's campaigns for years. The pair held a joint town hall in Milwaukie, Ore., in April 2011. Just weeks later, Hunt launched his run for Clackamas County chair by touting Schrader as an initial endorser. Schrader has accepted more than $1,300 in campaign contributions from the former state legislator since 2008.

Schrader's campaign did not return a request for comment on Hunt's arrest, as well as the decision to scrub posts linking the two Democrats. Hunt's attorney denied the sexual solicitation charge levied against his client.

As a state representative, Hunt in 2007 sponsored a bill that made sex trafficking a criminal offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Four years later, he voted in favor of a bill that criminalized commercial sexual solicitation, the same crime police charged him with in April.

After leaving the state legislature in 2013, Hunt joined the board of a local community college. He took leave from the board following his arrest. Hunt also serves as president and CEO of public affairs firm Columbia Public Affairs.

Schrader won his seventh term in Congress in November, defeating Republican challenger Amy Ryan Courser by 7 points. He has faced criticism from both sides of the aisle after flip-flopping on the PRO Act, a labor reform bill backed by top union leaders and President Joe Biden.

Schrader voted against the bill in February 2020 but has since pledged to back the legislation, which he conceded would "negatively impact many small businesses and their employees in Oregon" in a March statement. The announcement came just one day after Oregon's AFL-CIO chapter held protests at his district offices, with picketers calling the PRO Act a "historic opportunity to rewrite the rules of the economy."

The union did not contribute to the Democrat's 2020 reelection campaign and instead promised to "hold Congressman Schrader accountable" for his vote against the bill.

The United States withdrew 120 military personnel from Israel and is warning Americans against traveling to the region due to escalating violence in the conflict between Israel and Palestinian territory controlled by the militant group Hamas.

Defense Department spokesman John Kirby told reporters during a press briefing Thursday that the military personnel were from U.S. Central Command and European Command. They were flown out on a C-17 military transport jet to Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

“We made this decision to remove these individuals in coordination with our Israeli counterparts,” Kirby said. He added that some personnel were in Israel ahead of a planned bilateral event, but were withdrawn in response to escalating violence.

Vaccinated HBO star Bill Maher tests positive for virus, cancels this week's show

The 65-year-old is asymptomatic in what appears to be a vaccine 'breakthrough' case.

Friday's taping of the HBO talk show "Real Time with Bill Maher" has been canceled after the vaccinated host's PCR weekly test came back with positive results.

The 65-year-old entertainer, who is asymptomatic, tweeted Thursday that since 1993 he has never missed an episode of earlier show "Politically Incorrect" or this one, and lamented that his streak would be ending.

"The Friday, May 14th taping of Real Time with Bill Maher has been cancelled. Bill tested positive during weekly staff PCR testing for COVID. He is fully vaccinated and as a result is asymptomatic and feels fine. Real Time production has taken every precaution following COVID CDC guidelines," an HBO spokeswoman told Deadline.

Maher's show is currently on its 19th season and was the first major show to restart live audiences in September.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says Maher's vaccine breakthrough is and expected in some vaccinated individuals. Other high-profile vaccinated people also have recently tested positive including eight New York Yankees baseball team members who were fully vaccinated.

Chris Hedges: Israel, the Big Lie

Israel is not exercising “the right to defend itself” in the occupied Palestinian territories. It is carrying out mass murder, aided and abetted by the U.S.

Nearly all the words and phrases used by the Democrats, Republicans and the talking heads on the media to describe the unrest inside Israel and the heaviest Israeli assault against the Palestinians since the 2014 attacks on Gaza, which lasted 51 days and killed more than 2,200 Palestinians, including 551 children, are a lie.

Israel, by employing its military machine against an occupied population that does not have mechanized units, an air force, navy, missiles, heavy artillery and command-and-control, not to mention a U.S. commitment to provide a $38 billion defense aid package for Israel over the next decade, is not exercising “the right to defend itself.” It is carrying out mass murder. It is a war crime.

Israel has made it clear it is ready to destroy and kill as wantonly now as it was in 2014. Israel’s defense minister Benny Gantz, who was the chief of staff during the murderous assault on Gaza in 2014, has vowed that if Hamas “does not stop the violence, the strike of 2021 will be harder and more painful than that of 2014.” The current attacks have already targeted several residential high rises including buildings that housed over a dozen local and international press agencies, government buildings, roads, public facilities, agricultural lands, two schools and a mosque.

I spent seven years in the Middle East as a correspondent, four of them as The New York Times Middle East Bureau Chief. I am an Arabic speaker. I lived for weeks at a time in Gaza, the world’s largest open-air prison where over 2 million Palestinians exist on the edge of starvation, struggle to find clean water and endure constant Israeli terror. I have been in Gaza when it was pounded with Israeli artillery and air strikes. I have watched mothers and fathers, wailing in grief, cradling the bloodied bodies of their sons and daughters. I know the crimes of the occupation—the food shortages caused by the Israeli blockade, the stifling overcrowding, the contaminated water, the lack of health services, the near constant electrical outages due to the Israeli targeting of power plants, the crippling poverty, the endemic unemployment, the fear and the despair. I have witnessed the carnage.

I also have listened from Gaza to the lies emanating from Jerusalem and Washington. Israel’s indiscriminate use of modern, industrial weapons to kill thousands of innocents, wound thousands more and make tens of thousands of families homeless is not a war: It is state-sponsored terror. And, while I oppose the indiscriminate firing of rockets by Palestinians into Israel, as I oppose suicide bombings, seeing them also as war crimes, I am acutely aware of a huge disparity between the industrial violence carried out by Israel against innocent Palestinians and the minimal acts of violence capable of being waged by groups such as Hamas.

The false equivalency between Israeli and Palestinian violence was echoed during the war I covered in Bosnia. Those of us in the besieged city of Sarajevo were pounded daily with hundreds of heavy shells and rockets from the surrounding Serbs. We were targeted by sniper fire. The city suffered a few dozen dead and wounded each day. The government forces inside the city fired back with light mortars and small arms fire. Supporters of the Serbs seized on any casualties caused by Bosnian government forces to play the same dirty game, although well over 90 percent of the killings in Bosnia were the fault of the Serbs, as is also true regarding Israel.

Israeli Military Raises Gaza To The Ground. Another Tower Fell (Photos, Videos)

The Israeli military counties to strike what it claims to be “legitimate military targets” in the Gaza Strip in response to Palestinian rocket fire.

On May 14, Israeli warplanes wiped out another tower in Gaza city which used to host a branch of the Production Bank. In an attempt to justify the attack, the Israeli Air Force claimed that the bank was supporting the Hamas Movement.

No human losses were reported as a result of the attack. However, a nearby hospital sustained damaged, according to Palestinian sources.

Since the outbreak of the battle on May 10, Israel has destroyed a number of towers in Gaza city in what appears to be an attempt to intimidate the locals and subdue Palestinian factions.

The Production Bank was only one of many targets hit by Israeli warplanes on May 14. The other targets were allegedly rocket launchers and tunnels of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least 122 people, including 31 children and 20 women, have been killed in Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip, so far. More than 900 others were injured.

Despite Israel’s extensive strikes, Palestinian factions are still launching rockets and even drones from Gaza. So far, the Israeli military has failed to achieve its goals.

On May 13, 2021, Lawrence Sellin had a wide-ranging discussion with Steve Bannon on his War Room program about Dr. Anthony Fauci’s funding of “gain of function” research, the laboratory origin of COVID-19 and the massive infiltration of U.S. virus research programs by China, in particular, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

Fauci’s funding of “gain of function” has gone beyond just experiments related to coronavirus, but appears to involve other, potentially more dangerous viruses. Sellin provided indisputable evidence for the laboratory origin of COVID-19.

Finally, Sellin alerted War Room listeners regarding the massive infiltration of U.S. virus research programs by China, citing evidence that the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, not only actively collaborates with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, believed to be the laboratory origin of COVID-19, but conducts research together with scientists of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, some of whom appear to be linked to China’s biowarfare program.

Dr. Lawrence Sellin shared the following with Steve Bannon at the War Room:

Let me first just say that there’s no question COVID-19 comes from the laboratory. I think the only thing we need to determine now is [whether], how it was released, whether it was an accident or intentional.

Dr. Sellin then went on to discuss a paper explaining Dr. Fauci’s actions in changing a non-deadly virus to something deadly. Four of the five grants given to support the study were provided by Dr. Fauci’s government body.

Anthony Fauci seems to be still be funding gain of function research that has occurred within the last two years. And that the Chinese military is involved in the planning and execution of this research.

'Extremely concerned:' Online child sex trafficking numbers increase during COVID-19

WASHINGTON (SBG) — With kids spending more time at home and on the Internet during the COVID-19 shutdowns, something unexpected happened: authorities say sex trafficking that begins online— doubled. And with that, there’s been an uptick in reports of children sold for sex by their own parents and relatives.

That’s added to an ongoing discussion about abuse and sex trafficking of children in the U.S. Just last month in San Joaquin County, California, a child-trafficking-sex-predator sting netted 57 arrests.

The totals are hard to pinpoint. Many children trafficked for sex will never be reported missing.

In broad terms, there were 786,742 children reported missing in the U.S. in 2019 and 2020. Most of them are considered “endangered runaways.” Authorities say a significant number of them end up trafficked for sex by organized rings and gangs, or by someone they know and trust.

Chief Inspector Floriano Whitwell heads up Sex Offender Investigations for the U.S. Marshals Service. He says that the past few years, the U.S. Marshals Service has made it a priority to rescue children.

“I personally was extremely concerned by the lack of spotlight, the lack of resources, and just simply the lack of children being recovered across our country, knowing now how big of an epidemic it was,” says Whitwell. “And so I decided to make that my focus."

Among the recent U.S. Marshals Service operations:

In Georgia, Operation Not Forgotten recovered 26 children; 27 more were found in Virginia in Operation Find Our Children.

Five kids were rescued in Oklahoma's Operation Triple Beam with 262 arrests. There were 15 kids rescued and more than 30 arrests in Operations Boo Dat and Summer Rescue, New Orleans. In Iowa: 7 children rescued in Operation Homecoming. In Ohio and Indianapolis, 70 kids recovered in Operations Safety Net and Autumn Hope. In Philadelphia, Operation Safeguard picked up 26 children. And in Tennessee,150 children were found through Operation Volunteer Strong.

All of those recoveries don’t even count the many rescues made by the FBI and local law enforcement.

“Last year we recovered 387 missing children, and that was the most we've ever recovered,” says Whitwell of the U.S. Marshals Service efforts. “But I would also emphasize that in my opinion, we're barely scratching the surface."

Dover Man Arrested for Crimes Against Children

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Canton Resident Agency’s Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Northern District of Ohio United States Attorney’s Office, announce the arrest of Brenton “Brent” Cronebach, Jr., age 55, of Dover, Ohio.

The complaint alleges a tip was received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children from Google. Google indicated that files depicting child pornography had been shared and downloaded by a cell phone and email address associated with the name “Brent Cronebach”. An investigation was initiated by the FBI’s Canton Resident Agency Crimes Against Children Task Force.

On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, a search warrant was executed at Cronebach’s residence located in Dover, Ohio. Cronebach acknowledged that he downloaded thousands of images depicting child pornography and those items were stored on flash drives. The flash drives were seized by investigators. An arrest warrant was obtained for Cronebach and he was taken into custody without incident at the conclusion of the search warrant.

Brenton Cronebach, Jr. has been federally charged with possession and transportation of child pornography. Cronebach appeared in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Burke yesterday. Cronebach remains in federal custody and will have a federal preliminary detention hearing on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
