Israel-Gaza conflict: Building hosting media outlets destroyed in Israeli airstrikes
A GAZA tower which housed international media outlets has been attacked by Israeli forces as part of a series of airstrikes in the area today.
The building housed the offices of the Associated Press and Al Jazeera collapsed after being struck by Israeli missiles. The owner of the building had been warned in advance of an impending Israeli missile strike, a Reuters reporter said, and the building had been evacuated.
Israel "destroyed Jala Tower in the Gaza Strip, which contains the Al-Jazeera office and other international press offices," Al-Jazeera said in a tweet, with an AP journalist saying the army had warned the tower's owner ahead of the strike.
Al-Jazeera, the news network funded by Qatar's Royal government, broadcast the airstrikes live as the building collapsed.
