Demand for evidence Hamas operated in media building destroyed by airstrike

The Associated Press is demanding Israel provide evidence Hamas was operating out of a media building destroyed by an airstrike overnight.
It was one of several buildings flattened in the latest round of violence in Gaza with people inside the structure able to escape in time because of a warning from the Israeli military.
“We narrowly avoided a terrible loss of life,” the Associate Press' president said in a statement.
“A dozen AP journalists and freelancers were inside the building and thankfully we were able to evacuate them in time.
“The world will know less about what is happening in Gaza because of what happened today.”
US President Joe Biden has tried to ease tensions in the region – reaching out to both Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Mr Netanyahu said Israel was doing everything it could to avoid harming civilians.
“That’s why you don’t hear of casualties from these collapsing terror towers, because we take special care to avoid these civilian casualties – exactly the opposite of Hamas,” Mr Netanyahu said.
At least 140 people have been killed in Gaza and 10 in Israel since fighting began on Monday.

Parents ‘finally had enough’ after ‘vile’ selection of books for school children

Parents in Loudoun County have “finally had enough” after year nine school students were prescribed “absolutely vile” books, according to Sky News host Rowan Dean.
Parents in the county have expressed outrage at the school board for pushing critical race theory in the prescribed books and curriculum.
The parents have collected 1500 signatures to change the school board after books like To Kill a Mockingbird were removed from the curriculum and replaced with books slammed for their graphic sexual references.
Mr Dean described the books as “left-wing rubbish, full of pornography”, but they did lead to the parents finally having enough with the school board.
“It’s vile stuff, but it’s all being taught to our kids,” he said.

MSNBC host has to ‘rewire her brain’ to ‘cope’ after CDC guidance

Sky News host Rita Panahi says MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow essentially admitted on her program that she has to “rewire her brain” to “cope with people not wearing masks anymore” after the CDC released new guidance in the US.
“I feel like I'm going to have to rewire myself so that when I see someone out in the world who's not wearing a mask, I don't instantly think ‘you are a threat’,” Ms Maddow said.
“Or you are selfish or you are a COVID denier and you definitely haven't been vaccinated.
“I mean, we're going to have to rewire the way that we look at each other.”
The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention updated its guidance for fully vaccinated Americans this week.
“Fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance,” the CDC said.
