Aliens are outside of the earth, but are a lot closer than the concept you have of planets. One thing I will start you with is the fact this world is something much bigger, over twice the size of what you think the earth actually is. "The Earth" is merely one small part of something much more massive in size horizontally and vertically. What exists outside of this grand world is a complete mystery, but it is bound in science, not in fantasy.
