It's a bit crazy how the entire new testament is so easy to understand exept for the very last book. Also strange that the name of the book is the revelation. The first line or whatever is "The Revelation OF Jesus Christ". The definition of revelation is to REVEAL something or in this case someone.
Yet it's by far the most controversial book. Thousands if not millions of books and blogs and other opinions on the book.
Some of the scripture is obviously written for their own time line. Like the churches. They were literal believers that lived in those towns.
Imho the book is a summary of where the body of Christ was back then spiritually. And also a summary of the events that has already happened like the male child.

There's way too many versions of how the end of time as we know it will play out. I read many commentaries and a few even showed through history of past events that 95% of prophecy is already fulfilled. Nero was the one who defiled the temple. Isn't it strange that each version has proof and they all sound spot on and accurate
