Facebook wants to return to space, with a satellite capable of beaming broadband Internet connectivity back to the planet, a new filing with the Federal Communications Commission suggests.

The filing, first spotted by reporters at IEEE Spectrum, asks for the FCC’s permission to launch an experimental, 330-pound satellite into low-Earth orbit for testing. The satellite, called “Athena,” is designed to beam a 10-gigabit-per-second Internet connection to the ground, roughly 10 times faster than competing satellites from SpaceX.

The filing was submitted by a previously unknown company called PointView Tech LLC, but several clues suggest Facebook is heavily involved with the project, IEEE Spectrum reports.
