Alex Marlow: ‘Breaking the News’ Reveals Left-Wing Bias Is Only the Tip of Media Corruption Iceberg

Left-wing news media corruption goes far beyond political biases, explained Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow on Saturday, previewing some revelations in his book, Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption.

Ownership of America’s largest news media companies by complex conglomerates creates conflicts of interest in news media reporting, Marlow noted in an interview with Breitbart News Washington Political Editor Matt Boyle on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Saturday.

He identified integration of news media outlets into multi-billion-dollar corporations as a cause of deepening industry corruption beyond bad faith claims of political neutrality.

Parents companies of large news media properties weaponize their assets to enforce compliance with their business interests, Marlow held.

“Now, the enforcers of the anti-science mask mandates will be the corporations, because the corporations are getting increasingly left and increasingly woke,” he remarked. “Most of the world seems to be pretty coached up on [the fact] that the establishment media is biased to the left. They have a liberal bias.”

He continued, “[In] the book Breaking the News, I take it further, and I connect the two. Now it’s no longer simply a liberal-conservative divide. That is way too mild. First of all, the establishment is now weaponized. They are now on the attack. It is not merely that they’re slanting the news. They’re directing their news specifically to get scalps, to get victories.”

“It is not just about them being liberal,” he added. “It’s also about them being globalists and corporatists, because if you think about this — for example, NBC News, we all hate NBC news, right? — but NBC News is part of NBC-Comcast-Universal, and it’s only one branch on a very large corporate tree with international interests all around the world and in a million different ways.”

News media reporting is shaped to align with conglomerate owners’ business interests, Marlow observed, warning that many news media outlets withhold or deny information viewed as potentially damaging to their corporate owners. The diversification of conglomerate owners’ business interests narrows the range of acceptable reporting that subsidiary news media companies are allowed to pursue.

Journalistic outlets are under constant pressure to ensure they are not “putting up a story that conflicts with one of the vested interests of their giant conglomerate,” Marlow stated.

Boyle highlighted the impossibility of political objectivity in news media. He encouraged news media outlets to be transparent with their political biases and end deceptive presentations to the contrary.

“The institutional flaw with the establishment media is [that] they’re all built on a lie, which is they claim to be objective,” he said. “There’s no such thing as objectivity, because literally every decision we make — from which stories we cover to which ones we don’t, to who we interview and who we don’t, to which quotes we use and which ones we don’t — everything we do has the opportunity for the insertion of bias, either intended or not.”

NJ cop busted for running meth lab out of home

A Garden State cop was busted Sunday for running a meth lab out of his house, prosecutors announced Sunday

Christopher Walls, 50, a longtime member of the Long Branch Police Department, was arrested after his coworkers were called to his house Saturday night because of a domestic disturbance, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Someone in the house tipped off cops to the cop’s Walter White-like activity and found the ingredients and equipment for making meth in the basement and a shed, a statement from the prosecutor said.

Walls had books related to making meth, explosives and poison, the release said.

The officer was a 19-year veteran of the Long Branch department.

Police also found a stash of six guns, high-capacity magazines and ammo in an unsecured safe that could’ve been accessed by a child living in the house.

Local police worked with state police in the investigation, the prosecutor’s statement said.

“It is particularly distressing that this hazard was caused by a sworn law enforcement officer.” Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said in the statement.

Walls is facing six charges related to the meth production as well as a second degree child endangerment charge and firearm possession during a controlled-dangerous substance offense.

He faces a maximum of 60 years behind bars if convicted of all the charges. Walls is being held in Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending a hearing. Information for his attorney wasn’t available Sunday.

Prince Andrew has been dropped by almost 50 organisations amid questions over his links to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, according to reports.

Groups such as the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund, the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, and the Children's Foundation have all dropped the Duke of York as a patron, according to the Sunday Telegraph.

It comes as questions continue to rage over his relationship to American financier Epstein, who was convicted of sex offences against children before his death in 2019.

Prince Andrew, who it is alleged had sex with then 17-year-old Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, denies any wrongdoing.

But after a disastrous interview with Newsnight in which his association with Epstein was scrutinised, Prince Andrew, 61, announced last year he would step back from his role as a front line royal.

According to the Telegraph, 47 charities have since decided to pull back from their association with the Duke - who it is believed still hopes to one day return to public royal duties.

Two children, ages 7 & 9, butchered to death by their own mother, Arizona police say

TEMPE, ARIZ. – A mother has been arrested after police say she killed her two children with a meat cleaver Saturday.

Cops were called to the 4100 block of S. Mill Avenue and officers found a deceased 9-year-old and 7-year-old inside the apartment.

Police say the mother, Yui Inoue, threatened to kill her husband during an argument about money to move to Japan before the fatal attack.

Inoue has been charged with two counts of first degree murder.

IDF jets launch ‘extensive attacks’ on Gaza as violence enters 2nd week

Dozens of loud explosions could be heard throughout the Gaza Strip as the IDF carried out another round of “extensive attacks on terrorist targets,” with ongoing violence between Israel and Hamas entering the second week.

“Our fighter jets are currently striking terror targets in Gaza,” the IDF tweeted around 2am Monday, amid reports of Israeli warplanes targeting dozens of locations all across the Gaza Strip.

There were also reports of several Hamas rocket interceptions over Israel earlier on Sunday night, although on a much smaller scale than the night before.

With no end to violence in sight after seven days of fighting, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned that the “utterly appalling” hostilities in Israel and Gaza could plunge the whole region into an “uncontrollable crisis.” The United Nations is “actively engaging all sides toward an immediate ceasefire," he said, urging both sides “to allow mediation efforts to intensify and succeed.”

Instagram labelled a ‘disgrace’ by senior UK police official after report flags more than 100 convicted paedophiles using platform

Instagram has come under fire from British law enforcement after an investigation by the Telegraph revealed that dozens of convicted paedophiles were using the popular social media site.

The newspaper was able to identify more than 100 accounts matching the names and photographs of people who have been jailed for sexual abuse against children over the last decade. Two of the accounts belonged to men serving 20-year prison sentences for raping young children, the Telegraph said.

Some of the accounts were following thousands of people on the social network, including school girls. Children as young as 13 are able to create a profile on the platform.

One sex offender on the site identified himself as a “social media marketer” and was following more than 5,000 accounts.

The company responded to the findings by removing all the profiles flagged by the Telegraph. Police are also examining the accounts, and have launched an investigation into at least one suspect.

Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, asks users to report any known paedophiles by submitting news stories that could link an account to a convicted predator. The site reportedly relies on notifications from law enforcement because the sex offenders’ register is confidential.

In a statement to the Telegraph, Instagram said that it prohibits convicted sex offenders from using its services, and that it works with law enforcement to help detect unwanted accounts. It said that it is able to identify and remove the vast majority of exploitative content before it is even reported, and that it contacts authorities in cases where child abuse is suspected.

But these actions don’t go far enough for Chief Constable Simon Bailey, who serves as the National Police Chiefs Council’s child protection lead. Bailey branded Instagram a “disgrace” and accused the company of abandoning its “social and moral” responsibilities in order to pursue profits.

He claimed that Instagram and other social media platforms weren’t doing enough to stop their services from being used to exploit children. The senior law enforcement official said that he welcomed proposed legislation that gives regulators the ability to impose fines and even jail tech executives for failing to keep their platforms safe.

“We can fly a drone on Mars but we cannot prevent the uploading and sharing of images of child abuse,” he wrote in an op-ed responding to the Telegraph’s findings.

NT Police arrest boy over alleged rape of seven-year-old girl in Tennant Creek

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a family member in the remote Central Australian town of Tennant Creek, NT Police say.

The girl was taken to Alice Springs for medical treatment

NT Police said they were investigating the alleged sexual assault after receiving a report of the incident last Thursday.

They announced on Monday morning that an underage male had been arrested and that charges were expected to be laid later that day.

NT Police Commander Martin Dole said there had been delays in arresting the alleged offender or laying charges because officers were initially unable to speak with the girl.

"The child was flown to Alice Springs for some medical procedures, so we hadn't actually had any opportunities to speak to that child," he said.

"We didn't have sufficient information to notify exactly what had occurred, so we wanted to wait until we had an opportunity to interview that child."

NT Police conducted an interview with the girl on Sunday morning.

Alleged offender also a child

Police understand the child and the alleged offender are related.

"I'm led to believe that it's a known offender, it's intrafamiliar in this circumstance," Commander Dole said.

48 Shot, Including 2 Police Officers In Another Out Of Control Chicago Weekend

Yet another deadly Chicago weekend has seen shootings soar with as of Sunday mid-evening 48 people shot since Friday night, including 5 killed from their wounds. "A violent weekend in Chicago left at least 48 people shot in separate incidents, including two police officers who were wounded on Sunday morning when they responded to a ShotSpotter detection alert, authorities said," ABC News reports in a mid-evening update.

Tragically this included a 2-year old girl who was wounded after a vehicle pulled up beside the one she was riding in the backseat of and opened fire. Thankfully she survived the ordeal after being wounded with a bullet to the leg.

This adds to an already record-smashing year as Newsweek observed at the start this month: "In Chicago, 956 people were shot in the first four months of 2021—217 more than the same point in 2020, which was a record-setting year for shootings in the Illinois city."

On Sunday the Chicago Sun-Times detailed some among the growing casualty list from shootings as follows…

In the weekend’s latest fatal shooting, a man was shot dead Saturday afternoon in Woodlawn on the South Side… The 21-year-old was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Early Saturday morning, two people were killed and three others wounded in a shooting at a party in Gresham on the South Side.

Several people were at a gathering in the 7800 block of South Loomis Boulevard when a gunman opened fire shortly after 3 a.m., according to police.

A 26-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

A 21-year-old was also struck in the head and taken to the same hospital, where he later died, police said.

And in once instance police arrested an 18-year old male with a rifle fleeing on foot in an urban neighborhood street after gunshots rang out, only to later find that a man was shot in the head and died in the same vicinity, which is now under investigation.

On Sunday morning two police officers were shot after they approached a suspect who "immediately began firing a gun at the officers," Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown told a news briefing. Thankfully their wounds were considered minor, and both are "stable, recovering and in good condition."

Windham Recount Update: Vast Difference in Audit Totals Between GOP and Dem Candidates Is Enough Evidence to Scrap the Voting Machines

I believe the preliminary results of the forensic audit of the Windham, NH voting machines as configured on November 3, 2020, show the aging Diebold ES2000 Model A Voting Machines cannot be trusted.

And by extension… potentially the elections across the state of New Hampshire as well.

And based on the actions and demeanor of high-ranking government officials from the AG’s office over the first few days of the audit – I have a long list of concerns that I’ll share in another post.

But for now, let’s focus on the preliminary results of the vote totals that were produced by running all of the ballots from Windham’s November 3, 2020, through all of Windham’s four machines as configured on November 3rd.

The first table and graph show some disturbing results of the Rockingham District 7 State Rep race. This is the race that triggered the recount that produced the largest unexplained numerical discrepancy in the state of NH.

The audit results of each machine are significantly different from the results produced on 11/3/20. The audit results are closer to the results of the hand recount that was overseen by the Secretary of State’s office that took place on 11/12/20, but they are also significantly off.

Another disturbing observation is the variation of between 2 – 44 votes when the results of each candidate are compared across each machine after the audit. There’s a miniscule difference of 2 votes for Ioana Singureanu between all four machines, and a massive number of 44 votes for Bob Lynn between AccuVote #2 and AccuVote #4. A potential error of 44 votes is unacceptable in any election – because it could cause the wrong person to be declared the winner and subsequently sworn into office. Regardless of what the hand recount shows, it looks like it is time to get rid of the aging Diebold machines. I believe consideration should be given to hand-counting every vote on election night.

Former Professor Sentenced To 37 Months In Prison For Using Federal Grants To Aid China’s Medical Research

A biomedical professor has been sentenced to 37 months in prison for carrying out a scheme to use millions of dollars in federal grant money to advance research in China, according to the Justice Department.

Zheng Songguo, a former professor at Ohio State University (OSU), pleaded guilty in November to lying on his National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant applications, in order to use $4.1 million in research grants to develop the fields of rheumatology and immunology for China, the department said.

He was arrested last May in Anchorage, Alaska, as he was preparing to board a charter flight to China in an attempt to flee the United States. When taken into custody, he was carrying multiple items, including two laptops, three cell phones, several USB drives, several bars of silver, expired Chinese passports for his family, and deeds for property in China.

The judge also ordered Zheng to pay more than $3.4 million in restitution to the NIH and about $413,000 to OSU.

“For years the defendant concealed his participation in Chinese government talent recruitment programs, hiding his affiliations with at least five research institutions in China,” Assistant Director Alan E. Kohler Jr. of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Division said in a statement.

The case is among a string of federal actions targeting academics who collaborate with Chinese institutions while receiving research funding from U.S. taxpayers. Many of these cases involve researchers who allegedly hid their participation in Chinese state-backed recruitment programs, such as the “Thousand Talents Plan,” which U.S. officials say serve as a vehicle for the transfer of U.S. research and know-how to China.

“American research funding is provided by the American taxpayer for the benefit of American society—not as an illicit gift to the Chinese government,” said Assistant Attorney General John C. Demers for the Justice Department’s National Security Division.

Zheng admitted to making false statements in his NIH grant applications, hiding his participation in Chinese state-sponsored talent plans, and masking his collaboration with a Chinese university, prosecutors said.

The former professor led a team conducting autoimmune research at OSU and Pennsylvania State University. According to court documents, while employed at OSU, Zheng was also working at the Third Affiliated Hospital at Sun Yat-Sen University, a state-controlled school in southern China’s Guangdong Province. The university’s homepage named him as an expert under the Thousand Talents Plan court documents said. The website is no longer accessible.

Prosecutors said that Zheng had been participating in a Chinese talent plan since 2013. Since then, he used research conducted in the United States to benefit the Chinese regime.

According to court documents, at times, Zheng was receiving money from both the NIH and China’s National Natural Science Foundation of China, which is managed by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Zheng didn’t disclose these conflicts of interest to his U.S. employers or the NIH.

Last June, a former chair of Harvard University’s chemistry department was indicted on charges of making false statements about funding he received from the Thousand Talents Plan while working on sensitive U.S. research. He has pleaded not guilty.
