Because they are demented. Even if this was just a poor attempt at dark/dirty humor, considering the source, it's really fucked "music".
Anything that begs the viewer to question the fabric of reality (actually, perception of reality based on narrative-driven themes) is usually very underrated. Matrix was so well known because "muh Keanu, CGI, Kung Fu, and Hollywood backing". But honestly, reality is malleable, and that's the real problem. Most aren't willing to shake the narratives to get to the "behind the scenes" show.
